(This was a very era-specific event: celebrating Blondie’s single “Denis” achieving Platinum status in Belgium after having gone to #1 there and the Netherlands, and to #2 in the UK. This made it the first American punk single to become a worldwide hit, and more than enough reason for the record company to throw a party for Blondie at a New York disco.)
