I can't do this anymore!
Well, that's it. I've been away from tumblr since last november, and my plan was to wait until late may to decide whether to give a 2nd shot or give up. And also, because I was soooooo confident that Id have good news to say. Heck, I was even starting to make plans. But then, Covid-19 happened and all, so I've decided to just say bye already, since it will be ages, if ever, until I have good updates irl.
Which just makes me feel like shit, really. I already had to leave DeviantArt a few years ago, because it was getting extremely toxic over there. From people on the forums who should be in jail, to users crapping at me for my art style or ship fanart (and that's because I don't give much fucks to shipping in general, and mostly stick to canon pairings), I HAD to leave.
Then I've settled in here for a while. I never got much traction here for most of the time, but before this goddamn purge, it was "alright", I guess.
Now apparently, the purge is still going strong, and I don't feel like getting flagged for shirtless characters, nudity, or anything that's vaguely skin-toned. I already had so many times. Tumblr is so broken now.
And it's not like I'm enjoying Instagram all that much either. After a few weeks you've joined, the algorithms there works AGAINST your favor, unless you shell out some extra bucks for self-promotion. And people there are so fucking spoiled I swear. They expect you to post every single day, REGARDLESS of the kind of content you post. Oh and don't bother experimenting too much. And no, Im not talking about something like drawing Pacman one day, and abstract art the next. By "experimenting", I mean merely being a random-ish fuck like me, who draws fanart of all sorts of shit instead of just drawing idk, Gravity Falls or MLP over and over.
But still, I guess...that's what I have now. I miss so much DA from up until the early 10's, but there's nothing like that anymore (Pixiv is what comes closest to it, but its mostly used by asian anime fans), and guess Im just stuck with IG now. For how long l'll keep going tho, idk, really.
TL;DR: I'm done with tumblr's BS and I'm exclusively on Instagram now (@mellotronheartpff)
PS: I'll still be around once or twice a year so my blog doesn't get deactivated!
