Jaime Lannister x Reader as requested in the ask I reblogged. I loved the idea aaaand yes, it's a very ooc Jaime BUT I poured my entire romantic heart in this and I hope it's how you wanted it to be like, dear anon đ¸
Everything was prepared for the arrival of the royal family. Everyone in the castle had been working tiredlessly to meet the standarts of the royal visitors. You did your duty as a maid for the Stark daughters - Sansa and Arya - and helped their mother, Lady Catelyn, who has always been quite fond of you, to pick dresses for the occasions and care for financial matters, too. You stood in the courtyard and helped carrying baskets full of grain to the kitchens. "When will they arrive?", one of the kitchen maids asked you. "In a few hours. We don't have too much time left.", you replied breathing heavily. Not too much time until you'd see him again. You met Jaime Lannister when you still lived in Kingslanding, selling the finest dresses from Braavos, the day you were ordered to the castle to find a matching dress for Princess Myrcella for her nameday. Jaime was in the kingsguard and he was guarding the princess, watching you pick satin colours with her. Later that day he came to talk to you about who you are and where you came from. You told him the story of how you came from the riverlands to the capital to build up your own existence, your own life, far away from the place you were born and your family which was closely related to the Tully family. You did not know how to feel about him at first because you knew what people said about him - the kingslayer. The oathbreaker. The man without honor. People had told you he was an arrogant, cocky prick. But for your own surprise you got to know him as a completely different person. You secretly met him and the little staircase above the little beach near your house every night when he was not in service and you talked until the first pink stripes showed up on the horizon. To you, Jaime was a kind, caring, and compassionate man who was not proud on the reputation he had. As things go - you fell for him. Yes, you fell for him. Not only because he looked so beautiful in the pale moonlight but also because he seemed to have a heart as big as the ocean beneath your feet and because he really cared about you or else he would not have sneaked out the castle almost every night just to see you. One night you dared to ask him why he talked to you. Why he seemed to have so much interest in you. And his reply was: "Because - because you make me feel...something I have never felt before." The next moment your lips met. The following months were the happiest time in your life. Jaime and you continued to meet secretly but now at your place. You'd sleep together and you'd spend as much time together as his job would allow. Sadly, he had to sneak out of your house every morning in order not to be caught. You knew his position did not allow him to marry or to father children but that was fine with you. Everything was fine as long as he was there with you. The day came that you left for Winterfell to become a 'maid for everything' in the castle. The job was paid much better than your old one and you only got the position thanks to your relations to the Tullys although you were not a noblewoman. It broke your heart to say goodbye to Jaime but he promised he'd come back to you. He'd always come back to you. You cried. You still loved him and waited every day for a sign until you received a raven from him that he'd join the royal family on their trip to the north, to Winterfell. So now, you probably were the one person to look forward for this visit more than anybody else. You could barely hide your smile. ----------------- You all stood together in the courtyard, waiting for the arrival of your visitors. The Stark family, of course, stood in the first row but you stood right beside them as it was your task to keep the youngest children calm and silent. You held Arya's and Rickon's hand, just in case. Your heart skipped a beat the moment you saw the first horsemen and the first carriage arrive. You did your best to keep calm but all you wanted was to run towards them, fall into Jaime's arms - but of course you couldn't. As they came closer you could see them properly and you recognized him right away in his shining golden armour. They stood still before you and the king left the carriage but you had no eyes for this. You only had eyes for the golden hair that waved in the wind the second Jaime had put off his helmet. He looked through the crowd, his eyes seeking someone, and then he saw you. Ignoring the crowds around us, you smiled at each other. He was there. Right before you. Just a little closer and you could finally feel him again. ----------------- "(Y/N)!", Lady Stark whispered and pulled on your sleeve. "Uhm - yes, Mylady?", you replied quickly yet nervously. "Would you show the Queen's brothers their chambers? Could you do that?", she asked you nicely, you nodded and she seemed relieved. You walked towards Lord Tyrion and Jaime and your heart beat like crazy. He was right. He would come back to you. You didn't even dare to look at him in front of all the people so you just focussed on Tyrion, dying to look at Jaime, though. "Mylord, Ser Jaime - if you'd follow me; Lady Stark told me to show you your chambers.", you said taking a small bow. "Of course.", Tyrion said and you turned around, taking a shy look over your shoulder just to see Jaime for a second. "And you might be?", Lord Tyrion asked politely. "(Y/N) (Y/L/N).", you replied. "I'm a maid for the Starks." He made an approving sound and when you finally reached Lord Tyrion's chamber you turned around to look at them both. "So, this is yours.", you said. "If you need anything, feel free to ask for it. A servant will be around day and night." "Thank you so much, (Y/N).", he said gratefully and closed the door behind him. Now you were alone with Jaime. Unsure what to do since you were still so close to his brother's door you took a few steps ahead as Jaime grabbed you by the arm and pressed you against the wall. You smiled and looked into his fascinatingly green eyes before he kissed you. "Gods, I have missed you so much.", he whispered. "I love you, (Y/N). I love you so much." You kissed him again. "I love you, too.", you sighed. "Why don't you show me my chamber?", he asked. And so you did. Jaime closed the door behind the two of you and instantly went back to kissing you like you were water and he had been thirsty for days. "I will not let you go again.", he said and pressed you on the bed. "I have been starving for you, (Y/N)." In fact, you had been starving for him, too. You admired his face in the light. His sharp jawbone, the cheekbones, the eyes. This man was so beautiful, so adorable, and here he was. Kissing you over and over again. --------------- You lay in his arms afterwards. He held you so tight that it felt like he was afraid someone might take you away from him but you loved it. He still smelled so good, so like him, even after they travelled for weeks. "It's so cold up here.", he said and covered you both in even more blankets. "I have to get used to it." "No, you don't.", you whispered. "You won't be here for long, right?" You looked up to him. "Right.", he replied. "Maybe a fortnight." "And then you're going to leave me again?", you asked and placed your head a bit higher on his chest. "No, that's too soon." "What if I take you with me?", he asked. "For me to live in the shadows as your secret mistress? Oh, I love you Jaime but what a life would that be?", you said saddened. "No. As my wife.", Jaime replied quietly and you stared at him in shock. "What?" "I don't want to leave you again, I don't want to be without you ever again. I don't want you to live in the shadows as my mistress, as my secret. I want you to live every day of your life right beside me as my wife. As the mother of my children. I asked my father if he can release me from my vows of the kingsguard if I married to become his heir and he said yes. The crown is in his debt, anyway.", he repeated himself and took your right hand in his. You were shocked. Was he serious? You couldn't! What would your parents say? His father? The King? The Queen? You were no one. He had to marry a noblewoman, a highborn Lady, not you! And children? You were too young for children you thought. Had he the future already planned? "I don't know.", you whispered in shock and left the bed. "I mean - I love you, Jaime. No doubt! But if you marry me you break another vow and you know what people will say. Especially if you marry me, a no one. You're a highborn, I am no one!" "You're not no one!", he insisted and got out of the bed, too. "Not for me. I don't want to marry anyone but you, I don't love anyone but you. I choose you! And I don't care what people say or what they'll think - I never did. I may have forsaken every vow I ever made but not this one! I love you, (Y/N) and I will do so for the rest of my days. I will be a loyal and loving husband to you and I will always, always be right by your side. Marry me...grow old with me...die with me." You had tears in your eyes. "Jaime - you...you'll give up on everything you have if you -" "I have nothing without you. My life was empty and pointless before I met you. I see I have not know what love truly means before I met you. I fell in love with you so immensely that I cannot stand the thought of us ever being seperated again." He took your hands in his. "(Y/N), marry me.", he said. "I don't want children.", you whispered. "Not yet. Maybe not...ever." "You and me we'd have the most beautiful children.", he said. "I want to start my own family with you, my own life with you." "I'm not ready for that, yet.", you said. He sighed. "Look, (Y/N), I will not pressure you into something as big and important as this. But how wonderful would it be to hold something in my arms that is half you and half me? One day." "I cannot make plans about that now.", you said. "Not because of you! If I wanted anyone to be the father of my child then it would be you - hypothetically. I'm not ready to talk about children now. How does that even come to your mind?" He smiled. "Because when I woke up next to you in the morning the only thing on my mind was how wonderful it would be to wake up to this every morning for the rest of my life and how wonderful it would be if we had our very own family. Our children impatiently wanting us to get out of bed in the morning. Our children playing in the sun at Casterly Rock - learning to ride, to fight, to read. I cannot get this image out of my head. You and me forever, watching our children grow up. Taking all the big steps. Is that such a bad thing to dream of?" You sighed. "Of course not. But I feel like this is such a huge step to take for us. I'm unsure about the future. What will happen if we marry?" "I can tell you what will happen when we marry.", he said. "We'd be the happiest people in all of Westeros. If not on earth. I will be by your side all the time. We will wake up in the morning next to each other and I will not have to run away before you wake up. I will give you everything you want, everything I have - starting with my last name." You just stared at him with tears in your eyes. For once, you listened to your heart. It was beating too fast to be wrong. "Marry me, (Y/N).", he said again and knelt before you. "Marry me." With tears streaming down your face you nodded and said yes.
