The red-haired woman in the lab coat glanced from side to side, as if hiding from something, before dashing across the stream bed and into a cave on the far side. (For Persephone)
Persephone was hiding in her cave, stoking a fire with some branches and looking at her "stores". The forest was abundant with seeds for her to use! Unfortunately, while food was no longer a concern, the growing cold was. Her days, previously filled with gathering various fruit and vegetable seeds, were now spent collecting fallen branches, dead vegetation and dirt to make garden beds deep in the cave where it would be easier to keep warm. Would it have been wiser to just surrender to the cold? Probably, but the hybrid was essentially a fugitive after all. She needed to stay alert to stay safe, and that meant keeping warm. The last thing she expected (or even wanted) was a woman adorned in a lab coat to run into her cave. With no preparation for combat, she could only cower in a corner and pray she hadn't been spotted.
The redhead slid to a stop when she saw the fire, crouched, and tapped a silvery headband, and a mirrored faceplate slid out of it. She slowly turned until she was facing the woman in the corner.
The redhead was wearing armored knee boots, jeans, a University of Michigan t-shirt, gloves, the lab coat, and a pair of high-tech bracers over the lab coat's sleeves.
After a moment of facing the woman in the corner, she let out a long hiss and asked softly, "How far away is the nearest city? And what's it called?" Despite the softness of her voice, there was something almost dead about her tone, as if she were either empty inside or so used to hiding her emotions that she was even doing it in a cave, with a strange wild woman.
The hybrid blinked slowly, unsure whether or not it would be wise to answer. Every part of her mind screamed to answer, be obedient just to be safe! But, there was that small part, just a little voice, pleading to stay silent, not answer and pray the strange woman would go away on her own.
It was not loud enough.
"I do not know, I do not go near the settlements and I usually avoid going near any humanoid." She answered, head immediately looking at the ground. " There is a paved trail about a day's hike towards where the light rises. Many Transports take the trail so you may be able to get one to stop or you can hop onto one. Is my answer satisfactory?" Chip or no, The poor girl, who had only tasted freedom for a few months, had once again found herself at the mercy of a scientist.
The woman tapped the side of her headband, near her right ear, and the faceplate retracted, revealing a quizzical expression, like an organic robot that was trying to comprehend what it was looking at.
Then her body language and her expression suddenly transformed, even if her body was the same, and she gave the poor girl a gentle smile.
"Thank you, hon. Now we know where to not go. You've helped. A lot." This voice was entirely different. It was as if a different person - a real person, not a robot - were speaking. "Maybe you could help us with something else? Do you know if there are any other caves nearby? Preferably caves that go in deeper and don't have any obvious recent signs of humans around them?"
"This cave is new. I made it myself." She blushed, standing up and walking towards the entrance. it must not have been hidden well enough if the woman was able to find it. With a small gesture, brush and small trees started to grow. Soon enough the only way to come in or out was through a small space just big enough for either of them. As for the request to go deeper into the cave? It was just a matter of having the time and patience. She should show off her abilities for the scientist after all, give her a good idea what kind of experiment Persephone was.
Walking towards the back of the cave, she placed her hand against the wall and breathed slowly. Moss flowed from her palm, covering the rock. The sound was subtle, rather quiet and almost hard to hear, but signs of dark sand upon the floor quickly emerged. It didn't take a genius to see that the sand had been the rock previously on the wall. it took about a minute, but soon the wall had been pushed back by half a foot and the hybrid stepped away. "The hard part is taking the grit to the stream where it is washed away. the deeper I go, the longer it takes."
"That... is amazing! But it has to be really draining for you. Do you need to get something to eat, or drink, or rest, or anything like that?" She approached the other girl, her hands open and extended. "If I can help you, just let me know, OK?"
When she got closer, she froze and gasped. "Oh, honey, what happened to you? Who did that to you?"
Tears ran down her cheeks as she typed on one of her bracers, and a pair of egg-shaped drones appeared on either side of her, with white shells and green markings around the glowing end, which pointed at the strange girl.
The glow healed any injuries the girl might have, but for every injury healed, she would feel less energy, as if she had been doing physical labor.
"Does that help? Do you hurt less? Is there any thing else I can do to help you?"
Amazing? Persephone had heard the word before, but it never sounded like that! It usually sounded annoyed. “It can be draining, yes. But I need to get as deep as i can before it gets too cold. I won’t be able to wander away for long and I would like some space to store extra fire wood.” She explained, pointing to the moderate pile of sticks she had collected. Not nearly enough to last through winter, maybe a month if she was careful.
The scars! Persephone had completely forgotten about her scars. There were too many for her to try and hide now, but maybe it was a futile hope that the woman had only seen the major ones that were taking longer to heal. However, she wasn’t expecting the bots to glow around her! It didn’t really do anything to her, maybe make her a bit hungrier as minor scratches and bruises healed, but that was about it.
“Well… if you would like to stay could you help me carry out the grit? And gather up firewood and leaves. I will need to make another space for growing food.”
Tabby listened, then nodded. "We can take care of that, hon. What's your name? I'm Tabby. The one who came in first was Tabitha. We can explain later. For now, though...."
Tabby tapped on her bracer and her face shield mirrored over again. She slowly turned in a complete circle, then tapped on her bracer some more. Two more egg-shaped drones appeared in the air flanking her, with rotary cannons sticking out one end. Then a pair of small hoppers on treads appeared, with little scoop shovels on the front. The hoppers began scooping up the grit and loading up with it, then buzzed out of the cave once they were full.
While the hoppers were moving out grit, the floating miniguns were aiming at the back wall of the cave, in an area that the scarred girl hadn't touched yet, and began firing into the rock, producing a rapid-fire series of cracks as the stone shattered.
Tabby cleared her face shield, reached for the scarred girl's hands, and gave her a gentle smile. "Don't worry, hon. I've given the boys the plans they need for digging down. There's some good solid rock not that far down and back, and once we're into that, it'll be warm and secure. What kind of food do you like best? Or..." she paused and looked the girl up and down before asking softly, "...is that a silly question?"
A name? So she was a nice scientist… at least hopefully. But to be safe… (Code 53759, but i was called Persephone. Once. The individual was terminated soon after it was discovered they had assigned me a name.” She explained. Now that she knew the little machines wouldn’t hurt her, she crouched down and watched in awe. This would make the work so much faster and they could get to the warmer parts of the cave sooner!! It was perfect!!
“Um… i can eat just about anything. I just need to decompose and absorb it if I can’t physically eat it. But I don’t need much! I promise.”
"Persephone, huh? I like it. It's pretty."
She hmm'ed thoughtfully and slowly reached toward the flowers. "So... the plants aren't just grafted on? They actually made you part plant?"
She crouched so she was on Persephone's level and tilted her head. "Do you prefer eating like humans, or absorbing? And how much sunlight do you need?"
While she was asking, the gunbots were continuing to drill into the wall, cutting a passage that began to slope downward. Meanwhile, the little scoop and hopper bots were carrying out gravel and rock shards.

If you got enough money to live happily and comfortably for the rest of your life, but everyone who saw you immediately knew what fandom you are in and understood what that means, would you take it?
Bold of you to assume I don't start telling people about my fandom(s) whenever the whim strikes me.
What Auntie Jill said.
This counts as science
well there was a conclusion, a list of ingredients, a research question, and the result evidence so yea that most definitely is science
and while he didn’t write it down, he did make a record of it! So yes, that is science!

Forgotten Memories||
Aislinn cocked her head and looked at the hologram as she pulled her legs up to her chest. “A tissue Regeneration stimulator.” She repeated eyebrow raising as she looked at her. It was an odd sort of thing. Something she had never actually seen before. Which she imagined it had a lot to do with it if Mistress was the inventor. “Pretty smart having it melt down.” She offered as she looked at Mistress. Whether that was by design or simply a fact of life with the battery she wasn’t sure. She worked her fingers through her hair as she looked at her. “I think it’s an ok name.” She shrugged.
Looking at her as she supported her she rose an eyebrow as she looked at mistress. She sighed and leaned against her slightly unwilling to require her full assistance. She wasn’t used to relying on people. Though how she knew that for sure was beyond her. With a sigh she looked at Mistress as she said she didn’t catch who shot her. “Not sure it’d matter anyway.”
Vaguely as she flashed that bit of skin she heard a woman’s voice scolding her. Like one would scold a child. Making a face her eyebrow rose as she looked at her. “That is a shitty name.” Not that she had a better one at the moment.
Mistress laughed softly. "The meltdown is an unpleasant side-effect. It just can't take the power going through it for more than a couple minutes before melting down. But it needs that much power in order to heal everyone within a ten meter radius when I trigger it."
"What is it, pet?" Mistress gave her a worried look. "You looked as if you'd just had a flashback of some kind. I hope it didn't hurt too badly. Believe me, I know about flashbacks. They're ... never fun." She shook her head, trying to dispel her own ghosts, then asked, her voice gentle and caring, "Did the flashback give you anything? A nickname, a call sign, anything at all? I went with vixen because Ginger seems so ... just not mature enough to suit you."
She moved slowly, giving the freshly-healed woman plenty of time to get her feet under her and stand on her own, guessing that even if she didn;'t remember anything, there was a core of pride in there that would rather stand on her own, no matter how difficult it might be. Once she was sure her new girl could manage her own footing, she led the way to the kitchen, through a small hallway with a freight elevator and stairs that led down, into a kitchen that was big enough to run a restaurant from. A petite blonde wearing nothing but a collar and nipple and nose ring was in the kitchen, making what looked like ham sandwiches.
"Hi, Buttercup," Mistress said to the blonde. "Is there enough there to make a couple more sandwiches?"
"Yes, Mistress," the blonde said, her voice clearly filed with adoration for Mistress, and then she smiled at the redhead. "You're awake! How do you feel? Want something to drink while you're eating? We have Herzwesten beer, several kinds of wine, milk, I can whip up hot cocoa, there's always coffee ready, and we have a good tea cupboard, too."

Layla laid there, panting as she finally came down from the orgasm Tabitha gave her. She looked over at the girl as she crawled into the bed next to her and smiled, curling up to her before she was kissed. Once she felt the girl’s lip on hers, she began to kiss her back just as deeply and full of love.
She broke the kiss gently. “Do you want me to do anything to you?” she asked quietly. She didn’t want to be the only one satisfied, but didn’t want to push the girl or anything.
Tabitha smiled as she listened to Layla, and traced her lips with a fingertip, then asked gently, “When’s the last time you mads love to anyone, pet? Would you feel comfortable doing with me what you did with her?“
She smiled and caressed her pet, kissed her again, and purred, "You realize that what I just did is only a warm-up, right? Within a few months, my fist inside you will be just to get you feeling ready for REAL play. For today, how about you show me how cunning a linguist YOU are?”
Layla blushed slightly as her lips were traced with a finger. “I-I haven’t made love to someone in years,” she muttered quietly, letting out a small sigh. “And we never really went too far either, so I’m not sure if what we did would even get you off.”
She held her tightly and then blushed even deeper, nodding. “I understand that now,” she whispered. She propped herself up on her elbow to look down at Tabitha. “Use them how?”
"Hear my heartbeat? Just focus on that."
Ember had been having a horrible nightmare and woke up screaming. The first person on the scene was Tabby/Tabitha. She currently had her head against the girl’s chest and was listening to her heartbeat. She was clinging to them like her life depended on it.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered. “I never wanted you to see my like this.” She buried her head in the girl’s breasts and sniffled. She was shaking in the girl’s arms, shuddering from fear. “I-I’m trying to just focus on your heartbeat, but it’s hard.”

Ember chuckled and took her arm, gently leading her to her room. “Do you want me to get anymore blankets and pillows?” she asked. She helped put the pillows down on the bed and then looked over to Tabitha. She gave her a small smile, and couldn’t wait to do this.
Tabitha looked around, then grinned and pointed at the cushions on all the furniture in the sitting area. “Look! Pillows!” She laughed and snatched up the cushions. “Oh cool! I found a copper!” After carrying the cushions over to the bed and adding them to the pile, she considered the way things were. “Fireplace. I think we should make the pillow fort in front of the fireplace. What do you think?”
She was already carrying pillows tot he fireplace, moved the coffee table out fo the way, and began arranging cushions to form the floor and walls of the fort, making it just long and wide enough for the two of them to cuddle and spoon in it, with the head open toward the fireplace, so the sound and smell of crackling logs could help them feel safe and comfortable.
“Here we go, sweetheart. Why don’t you crawl in and tell me how you like it?”
Ember giggled as she watched the girl grab the cushions off the furniture and then helped her to move the coffee table out of the way. She grabbed a few blankets to lay on, two pillows for them, and then more blankets to put on top of them.
She watched as Tabitha finished the fort. She nodded and then crawled into it, smiling. “I really like it,” she said. “Now my turn.” She laid a blanket out, put two pillows on it towards the fireplace, then put the other blankets near the bottom of the fort to cuddle up in. “What do you think?” She sat in the middle of the fort, her head tilted to the side some.
"You know pillow forts well sweetheart." She grinned and crawled in to cuddle with her favorite dragon. "I like it. A lot. We should do this any time one of us has a bad night. Promise?" She held out her hand, pinkie extended.

“What’s the last thing you remember?” (for anyone who's not a guy)
Layla looked up at the girl in front of her and then looked around confused. “I-I’m not sure,” she whispered. She continued to try and remember what she could. “Um, what year is it? I can’t remember how I got here. Did I become drunk?” Maybe if she was simply drunk that would explain why she didn’t remember ending up there, but she couldn’t remember a lot of things.
Turning her gaze to the girl again, she tried to place her or remember her name. “Um, who are you?” she asked. She then looked down at her appearance and blushed. She was wearing next to nothing and had cuts everywhere. “How did this happen?”
@theroboticist
Layla looked over at her as her face as caressed and blushed. “U-um, can I at least know what I have as my safeword?” she asked quietly as the girl straddled her. “I-I can’t exactly shapeshift, so there’s no need to worry about that from me.”
