I have been dinking around with the last two chapters of A Sinking Star which I think are actually how I want them now, but I also have a little bit of a Kitty's Collar inspired thing I've been working on, in honor of my favorite item in Inquisition.
Kitty sat before the Wolf, six eyed and massive in the Fade. Kitty was unimpressed and licked a paw. It was a cat, it feared nothing.
βProtection,β said the Wolf warningly. βDo not attempt to hinder me from aiding her.β
βI prefer Kitty,β it said, washing behind its ear. βAnd the Fade in its hand feels of your magic, Wolf.β
βIt was not my intent,β said the Wolf defensively.
Kitty stretched out a leg and licked it with a rough tongue.
βAnd yet it hurts Lavellan, at times,β Kitty said. βTell me, Wolf, who is better equipped to protect the Lavellan now. You are weak.β
βShe will need both of our aid, Kitty,β he said. βI do not think you have regained your strength fully either. We both care for her. Sheβ¦ she is my heart.β
And that was another matter entirely. If the Lavellan was his heart, then the Wolf was Lavellanβs to protect also, and that meant that the Wolf belonged to Lavellan. The Wolf was under Kittyβs Protection too, then. That was fine.
It rubbed its chin along the Wolfβs nose. There. Theirs.
βYou are the Lavellanβs,β Kitty declared.
The Wolf let out a small confused whine and cocked his head.
βYes,β proclaimed Kitty and walked away with tail held high and triumphant.
