It wasn’t supposed to be more than a greeting. Although I’m one to overthink, that I’m highly guilty of.

Did she say it because she missed me? Was she in need of my friendship again? So sad, I thought she’d never come back. I was betting on her absence.

Maybe she said it because she felt guilty, and wanted to be nice. She could’ve assuming I’m stressing her distance. Little does she know I’m doing good, better.

She could always be messing with me. Saying 'hello’ to make me mad. I wouldn’t put it past her, I know her tricks. I’ve seen her do it before. She loves to play her games.

Except… It could just be a civil 'hello’. It doesn’t have to mean anything. Why am I turning a simple, five letter word into such a big deal.
