Even with the world ending, when it snows, the beauty wasn’t taken away. “ I’m guessing it’s almost Christmas. ” Thranduil lets out, looking at the woman beside him, arms folding across his chest. “ You want to go see if we can go find some stuff to decorate a tree outside? ”

Sherry was wrapped tightly in one of his jackets. Even in the biting cold, the erratic patter of the snow flakes falling was mesmerizing. She had lost track of how many Christmases had gone by since the apocalypse began. When you spend every day fighting for your life against the living and undead, time just becomes... trivial.

A simple smile falls on Sherry’s lips as she looks up at Thranduil. “That would be nice. I think I saw a box labeled ‘Holidays’ in the closet over there.”

Lena stared at Sherry, maybe it was because she was over tired or maybe she was just in a bad mood but Lena couldn’t stand her at the moment. She wanted to at scream or slap Sherry or both. Although Lena knew part of what Sherry was saying was true, she knew Negan would get tired of her but Lena didn’t care.

“At least he doesn’t feel obligated to have sex with or spend time with me.” Lena snapped anger getting the better of her. Lena never yelled at people, she didn’t let herself get angry or mad, she didn’t have it in her anymore.

“Yes Negan married me for pleasure. I’m not some idiot. That’s more normal than marrying someone because you have to beg them too. At least I don’t have an ex husband who’s stuck up my current husband’s ass so far there’s no way to get him out.” Lena yelled her heart racing tears forming in her doe eyes.

Lena let her words sit there for a moment the air thick with tension. She bit her lip wiping her eyes frowning and shaking her head. “Sherry I’m sorry.” Lena whispered. “I didn’t mean that.” She said tears falling down her face.

It was the first time she had ever heard a negative word out of Lena. Her breath quickened and heart began to race. Lena’s words were... true. Well, it was mostly true. She had been the first wife to really ever stand up to Sherry and not just turn her nose when she walked in the room. Sherry was undoubtedly Negan’s favorite, he had used the words himself but his reasoning was impure. He liked to flaunt her in front of Dwight just to wedge the knife in his back a little further. To show Dwight just how big his dick was. And in return, Dwight remained silent and let his ‘master’ do with her what he willed.

“Don’t be sorry.” Sherry finally replied, eyes blazing in fury and respect. “You have no reason to be.”

Pulling a smoke from the pack on the bar, she quickly lit it, hands shaking. “You meant every word. I would too.” She exhaled words filling the space with a cloud of smoke.

Lowering her head, she recalled the day she and Dwight came back to Sanctuary, begging to be under the protection of Negan once more. “You are half right. Dwight and I came back begging for mercy after my sister Tina died shortly before. She was a diabetic and we stole medicine and thought we could make it out there.” A pause filled the space. “We were wrong.”

Inhaling once more, she exhaled a sigh of sadness. “I didn’t beg Negan to marry me. I offered an exchange for Dwight’s life. I begged for mercy for his life yes, but Negan had already had his eye on me for a while. As far as him feeling obligated to spend time with me or share a bed, well, I can’t comment on that. I am not him. I can tell you never once has he complained about my company.”

Sherry’s gaze reset to Lena. Eyes filled with sadness and rage not at Lena, but at herself for allowing Tina to die and Dwight to become a robot for Negan’s every whim. A familiar battle she already fought with every day that she remained alive. Every day she had to see Dwight and his marred face along with anger in his eyes.

She knew she was a pain in the ass. She was stubborn as hell but she was also a survivor. Sherry had become damn good at surviving. “If you are going to spout out hate, sweetheart, make sure your facts are correct and don’t apologize afterwards. It makes you look weak. The wolves around here prey on the weak.” Her tone was no mocking or bitter, but honest and simple.

Her head cocked at the sight of her husband shirtless. It was the first time she had seen him in such a lazed form. He seemed to always be walking around Sanctuary with is hand tightly clenched around Lucille and his posture defensive but powerful.

Quietly slipping out of her heels, she reached to her neck and began to drag the zipper down each tooth painfully slow. The dress fell to the ground and she daintily stepped out of it. Feet pattered across the floor quietly as she slipped into the comfortable sheets next to him. Turning on her side to face him, her hazel eyes locked on his own.

“I guess a double date with the bed it is.” A smile completing her sentence.

“Hey.” She replied back through a whisper. “I’m not a child, Shane.” Though, to be perfectly honest, she didn’t think she was ready to witness the blood bath that was about to ensue.

Looking up at Shane, eyes changed from concerned to hard and curious. “What did they do?”
