Had a bang up trip with my boy Trey Lawrence today. Wasn’t sure how it would be after the rain this weekend but we caught the right bait, made the long run, and it paid off. The big trout were chomping! Smallest one was 20”. Caught 32 trout and a nice red. Probably missed another 15-20 because the shrimp were so big! Lol. After about 6 months of trying, I was finally able to sit down and chat with the Lunker Dog himself, Jeff Maggio on his “Reel Guys” Podcast. I’m not much of a coffee drinker unless it has booze in it. Fact! So in light of this coffee frappe craze, I dove head first into our @spiceology cabinet and “whipped” up a little “Dalgona Coffee White Russian”! It’s good enough to make you jack around with the election! Recipe below! Let me know how you change this one up! Cheers! . In a cup with 2 cubes of ice: (These parts can be as big as you want) 1 part FireFly Espresso Vodka 1 part milk 1 part Kahlua (optional but highly suggested) . . In a stand mixer add: 2 parts espresso powder 1 part cinnamon powder 2 parts sugar 1/2 cup heavy cream Whip to very stiff peaks . Put a big scoop on top of the milk and vodka mixture and hit it with freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon! Enjoy and thank me later! Right now I feel like the only things I can do to help our friends and family get through this time of uncertainty is either cook for them or take them fishing. Good morning from lonely, quiet, unoccupied, beautiful Shem Creek. They’re letting commercial licenses use the boat ramp! 49 degrees out here but gonna be 76. No paddle boards or kayaks!!!! Water is 64.9 degrees and fell 7 degrees in 2 nights! 😳Not sure how the fish will react. They’re used to those drops in Oct and Nov. got a box full of jumbo shrimps and a box full of love blue crabs. Had a great time this morning with Brad and Landon. He caught his first flounder and his first redfish plus a lot more. Good stuff. The water temps dropped 7 degrees last night. The bait was thick. And the schools of reds act like nobody has been running them@over because the yahoos aren’t allowed to put the boats in right now. The fish are starting to act like they did 10 years ago, just in schools about 20% of the sizes they use to be. Even sight fished a nice red today with a live jumbo shrimp. Our quarantine meal last night wasn’t so bad. Of course we haven’t had a bad meal yet.
