Just a loser archivist trying to figure out Tumblr. Any/All I suppose [this is less like a Jon rp account and more like 'What if Jon had Tumblr' but we roll with it... also.. Ambiguous ass timeline... This was supposed to be a serious account. As you can see im not fucking serious at all]
This is Jonathan Sims speaking, Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute. I'm here because my coworkers recommended I get this place which they have described as a 'hellsite', which is intriguing.
I'm not too sure how this whole 'Tumblr' thing works, but I'll figure it out, I suppose. I usually am able to figure things out fairly quickly.
Just know that I am still quite a busy person, so I may often disappear or reappear at odd times. This is completely normal.
Statement ends."

Wow! An intro post! Took me long enough!
Yeah, so, this is less of a Jon roleplay account and more like "What if Jon had Tumblr", but ignore that. I just roll with anything. Very timeline ambiguous and slightly inconsistent. I'm bad at this, okay?
And yet I run several other TMA OC blogs [ @blood-hounds-and-brutalization @gravedigger-duo and @the-shuttle-engine-enigmas @captivating-inhuman-resources plus a timetravel Jon AU blog [ @gaz1ng-upon-eachother ], and a Mechanisms OC blog @records-of-theonewhoslumbers . I also have an art account @silverwings-the-silly ] very confusing I know. Go check them out if you want to maybe.
"Speech text is exactly as you're seeing right now."
Actions are like this
Anything in [[these brackets]] is OORP/OOC.
This is basically utterly traumatized and socially fucked up Jon [as in more than in canon. If I suffer, he suffers]. Yeah I don't know how else to describe it. Have fun?

Eye boy!! You’re back! Does this possibly mean i can keep eating your mold?

Did you say underground worm gambling business???"

Oh right! I forgot to tell you earlier. Last time I was at your flat I saw a worm slip beneath a crack in the floorboards, I investigated a bit and..
[it paused, hushing his voice into a whisper and leaning in. As if he can get caught for spreading this information]
…Underneath the floorboards there is a small shoe-box sized bar, filled completely with earthworms. Which is fine by me, the worms should be allowed to drink and play pool as much as they want but… a buddy of mine is in realll trouble with some worms there, and asked my help dismantling it… so if you’d wanna do that with me, considering it’s your flat (no matter how many unnoticed guests take up residence)
"... Say what now?"
Jon is actually stunned, and makes an expression that can only be described as "WTF". He shakes his head.
"I'm hearing things, right? Surely I'm hearing things. You're joking. You're lying.."
He turns and looks around his small office, mumbling something along the lines of, "where is the damned fire extinguisher..."
What? No! No fire extinguisher, that would be quite rude of you, eye boy.
Besides, if you burn it down you might get into some trouble with the worm mafia… and if they go after you they’ll definitely find me.
Got into a squabble with one of their guys a few years back and they were real pissed bout that.
And I don’t want that to happen!! Im assuming you don’t want the worm mafia either, do you? So don’t go reaching for the fire extinguisher.
[he said all of this with a bit of a scolding tone, which was hard to take seriously considering it was much shorter then the archivist and had the blank but pathetic eyes of a Victorian orphan]
Anyway. No. I am not joking. Now if we want to dispose of the bar, we have two options. The peaceful option of trying to discuss it with the owner of the bar, or the non-peaceful option of destroying the bar (after we evacuate all the worms, of course.)
Jon wasn't paying attention to half of that, because of course he wasn't [[sorry]]. Instead, he blinks a few times after pulling out a fire extinguisher from under his desk.
"Huh..?"
Jon takes another minute to process its words.
"... Worm mafia.. problems.... right, sure. Well. Let's get to work on getting them out of the bar [and hopefully my house], and then we destroy it. No offence, but I am not conversing with a.. a...."
The word 'worm' doesn't make it out. Instead, he just makes an awkward noise and absentmindedly scratches one of the worm scars on his arms.
Right. Well, even if we did choose the peaceful route I was planning on doing the talking, I assumed you don’t share my level of expertise when it comes to worm linguistics.
[again, such smugness didn’t fit how the thing presented. A boy that is actively decaying and is of the habit of eating other peoples moldy foods is not the most sophisticated.]
[but it didn’t leave that much more time for discussion before it lead the archivist to an exact spot in the floorboards. Before whispering]
Right. This is it, you lift the floorboards, and I’ll do the talking with the worms, once they all are out I’ll give you a sign to destroy the place. Okay?
Jon nods along hesitantly, staring at the spot in the floorboards it'd indicated to him. He's not holding the fire extinguisher at the moment, but he's keeping it awfully close.
[it nodded and watched the archivist hesitantly lift the floor board, revealing a shoe-box sized bar with around 6 worms in it, as Alex previously described. [Alex kneeled and proceeded to speak in a calm tone to the worms]
Meemt nneeep hememmeep met neep meepep muup mapp oumap
[the worm screamed something back and his smile dropped]
Uh, eye boy.. they aren’t as friendly as last time we uh.. we’re in a bit of a pickle
Jon immediately grabs the fire extinguisher and points it at the worm bar.
"You're going to be nice to Alex and also get out of my damn floor, or else you're fish bait."
Jon simply takes the fire extinguisher and drops it straight onto the worm... shoebox.. gambling bar whatever. Then he picks it up and drops it again. And again.
He does this about ten times.
Jon glances at Alex..
... and then drops the fire extinguisher another ten times. Only then does he finally give the slightest smile.
".. Yep. No more worm bar," he confirms, a bit of pride seeping through his voice. "... that felt really good to do."
Jon glanced at the spot on the floorboard one last time, uttering 'good riddance' before putting his fire extinguisher next to his desk.
"I believe there's some blue cheese in my fridge. I mean, it's technically mold, but I'm not sure.. There's also some stale bread.."
"Oh? Me..? Hm... I'm not quite sure actually. I'll probably just fix myself a cup of tea and find some leftovers in the fridge.. there ought to be something I can eat...."
"Yeeeah, pretty much," Jon replies as he pulls out a block of blue cheese from the fridge and sets it on the countertop. "That's fine."
He returns to looking through the fridge, grumbling and cursing about how there's 'absolutely nothing to eat'.

[Annicis is ill. How did it happen? No one knows. Probably a side effect from the corruption avatar that lives upstairs with his buried avatar husband. There is a surprising amount of avatars in this building.]
[[Tagging my usual TMA RP partners: @therealestheadarchivist @elias-bouchard-tmi ]]
Jon's stopping by with some homemade banana bread. He's not even sure if Annicis likes banana bread, honestly, but he feels like he ought to check up on Annicis after vanishing for months. He knocks on Annicis' front door awkwardly.
"Er... hello? Anyone home?" he calls out.
[Lani was the one to open the door, pulling him in.]
Oh thank goodness another person is here. I have no clue what is wrong with her outside of distortion madness. I know she’s been getting more and more manic over the last few months, but this…
[She shakes her head.]
Let’s just say there’s other avatars here, and this is starting to agitate them as well. I’m trying to keep Watch over the situation, but I have no clue what is going on. Is it possible to Become twice? That’s what this feels like.
Jon almost drops the banana bread in his hands as he's pulled inside. He quickly steadies himself and takes a moment to take in what Lani is saying.
"That's uh... I mean, the manic-ness may be expected from someone who's spiral aligned, but uh... Hmm.."
He's definitely at a bit of a loss here.
"I don't think Becoming twice is possible, but I wouldn't rule anything out. And uh.. what.. other avatars are there, exactly?"
4 Avatars and 10 Marked, with only 2 of the marks coming from the resident avatars. Anni also has a few other avatar friends coming and going, so who knows what kind of effect that has been having. That Elias fellow she’s been going to more and more has been helping, but not by a whole lot. It seems to be getting worse fast.
"Oh!" Jon gasps, clearly surprised. "This place is an Avatar magnet, it would seem."
He seems slightly irritated by the mention of Elias, but he can't be too bothered when it's apparently helping somehow.
"Ooookay, so, what now? Is there anything I can do?"
I don’t know, watch her?! Just sit there and Watch her?! Seems to help for a while, but then the Distortion gets pissy again when you Look Away.
[Lani really seems to be at her wits end.]
I’ve even tried that stupid American sweet tea she is obsessed with, tried giving it to her. She threw it up as well as, somehow, Triangle shapes that turned to goop when you touch them!
[She stops and turned completely towards Jon. You now notice that the hallways is oddly empty and going on a long time compared to the last time you were here.]
Please tell me you know of any Distortion avatars that can help. I have no Avatars I’m on friendly terms with outside of you and Anni.
"... I mean, uh.. I know of Distortion Avatars, but they're.. not quite...."
Jon shakes his head and shivers at the mere thought. He's definitely not going to even try.
"Is there really nothing else that can be done? I mean, surely, there's..."
He trails off uncertainly, looking rather apologetic now.
[Lani sighs, realizing that she did just spring this on him.]
I’m sorry for involving you in this. I’m just not sure what is going on and I’m stressed and this is giving me a killer headache since being around her right now is like constantly looking out of the corner of your Eyes. Just…please. Watch her for a while. See if there is any progression or anything. You don’t need to get close. I honestly don’t recommend actually going in the room. But I need to go outside for a while so I can think again.
"Oh, okay. Yeah, no worries, I will. I'll try to help in any way I can. She's been kind to me before.. I ought to return that kindness one way or another."
Jon glances around, looking a little more alert now than before. He can already feel some offish influence from the Fears in the area, even without much aid from the Eye.
There's someone in the archives who shouldn't be there. A large man in a suit of historical platemail is standing among the shelves, staring blankly at a tape recorder someone left out.
The armor appears to be rather ornate Gothic plate, though instead of a Sallet, what rests upon his head is a great helm. The patterning—long swoops of raised metal that flow gracefully around his form—almost evokes the image of some lovecraftian squid monster clinging to the knight possessively. The armor's far from new, with dings and scratches marring the polished steel.
Jon is carrying a stack of statements, far too distracted to pay attention to where he's going.. until he bumps into this strange new figure, that is.
"Ow, what the hell..?!"
He stumbles back, dropping all the papers, and is about to curse whoever obstructed his path.. until he looks up and actually sees who he bumped into.
"Oh.. hello," he greeted, a sudden bit of nervousness overcoming him. "Uh.. haven't seen you before.. who are you?"
The Knight seems surprised, turning to look towards—then down at—Jon. He stares for a moment, before crouching down and speaking in a slightly course voice.
[Latin]"Oh, I do apologize. I quite often forget how much space I take up..."
He scoops up the papers hastily, tapping them into a disorderly pile, holding it out to Jon.
[Latin]"I do apologize again, but I must ask, where am I?"
The Knight tilts his head as he speaks. Even if Jon can't understand him, he can tell a question was asked.
Jon simply stares. And he keeps staring. He would've forgotten to blink if his eyes hadn't started to water a bit. He takes a step back
"I.. do apologise, but I can't quite understand... Is that Latin, or something of the sort? Err.."
He takes the papers and fixes them a bit neater, internally cringing at a crease or two. He looks back up at the Knight, mirroring the tilt of his head briefly before looking down at the statements in his hands again.
"Does Martin know Latin?" he mumbles out absentmindedly. "I mean, he knows a bit of Polish, maybe he'd... oh who am I kidding, that useless arse..."

[it nodded and watched the archivist hesitantly lift the floor board, revealing a shoe-box sized bar with around 6 worms in it, as Alex previously described. It was now roofless, as the floorboard seemed to be it’s previous roof, and it had some tables, a counter, and a pool table. There was a worm behind the counter and a worm on the bar chair and a few playing pools, all now seemingly panicked from being discovered ]
[Alex kneeled and proceeded to speak in a calm tone to the worms]

Eye boy!! You’re back! Does this possibly mean i can keep eating your mold?
[the thing hesitated]
If you let me I can help dismantle the underground worm gambling business in your flat
[he seems to be fluttering it’s eyelashes and making his eyes big and watery to convince the archivist. However the affect does work as well considering the thing’s eyelashes are covered with an unidentified powder and it’s eyes surrounded by peeling skin]

Did you say underground worm gambling business???"
Jon only stares and crosses his arms, looking like he's expecting an explanation for this.. new development.
