I just wanted to say that your work has inspired me so much and made me find some of my best friends. The Jon (Hanged Man) and Martin (Hermit) artworks I gave you are just the start of a tarot series (of all 78 cards!) that I want to draw of TMA, and I wanted to share these finished pieces with you both first!
I admire your work ethic and creativity and your values and everything you’ve brought to TMA to make it the rich, multi-layered, and successful program it is. I hope we can meet again one day when my heart rate settles down (in about a year 😅).
I went to the show with my BFF and my Martin SpookyVoidCat (Reddit) and my soulmate sister and glam Jane @fieldsofdreamlesssolitude . I had the best time being lost in a sea of fellow Magnus fans, including fellow Jon cosplayer Sherbetstarry, and listening to incredible statements and behind the scenes fun at the show. it was incredible to see you guys at crossed wires :-) did you get full creative control on which statements you wanted to read? honestly i was so surprised that one of my faves (binary!) was read out !!
also.. are there any statements you considered doing but thought they wouldn't translate all that well live..? just interested in the process :)
Thanks for coming! To answer your question, no I don't have "full creative control" in the way you are implying. I mean I did in that I could have gone up there and just read my shopping list if I wanted but it would have had... consequences. Long story short our events team work with our production team to decide what statements should be performed and it's more involved than you might think. Some statements work really well on stage whilst some fall a bit flat and there seems to be little correlation to how well it works in podcast form. This would be doubly true for Protocol content which is even more enmeshed with its original format. My lacklustre read aside, we weren't thrilled with how Binary translated to stage so we will likely put that back on the reserve list for a while and swap it out for something different next time.
