The Question Girl Week 5 - If education was your responsibility what would it be like and why? 

This weeks question didn’t get as much engagement as last weeks, which isn’t a negative. I’m learning along the way and figuring out what other people enjoying answering question wise. It’s definitely made me realise that it’s probably a lot harder to get decisions and answers out of people than what we realise. Take voting for example, everyone’s always encouraged to do it and we always moans that nothing happens? Well is that maybe because nobody is actually voting because they aren’t taking interest in what’s around them and the society that they live in. Take my questions for example, people aren’t jumping to answer the question which makes me think do people care about these things? Do you care about education still even though you might not still be in education? 

The live was well, I had a few people join listening to the answers that were given previously and was mainly me just having a chat about education and what people think of it. I had mentioned that the reason why I’m doing these lives is not only to give people a place to say their opinion but also a way to help get things changed that we don’t necessarily agree with or isn’t actually morally right. 

The answers that were given were amazing, they ranged from life lessons to money management, to learning how to grow your own food and live a sustainable life. I really enjoyed listening to the different answers and thinking of what it would actually be like if kids did have that right environment. I had went on to say that if a plant isn’t in the right environment it won’t grow, so it’s very similar to a human. If a child/human is not in the right environment they won’t learn or grow as a person. 

Homeschooling was also spoken about as I had asked another question to one of the replies I had got. I wanted to know their opinion on homeschooling and what they thought and they had given such valid points both from a positive and negative perspective. I was given 2 replies, both detailed but one more detailed than the other which I had really appreciated. They had taken the time to actually answer the question properly and give so many different points and perspectives, it was something that was so nice to read. Whilst also being quite inspiring to be able to share new information that even I didn’t know. 

Overall I was really happy with this weeks live for many reasons, mostly because of the detailed answer and the lesson that was learnt. Not everyone is going to care about the things that I feel people should care about and that’s okay. I just need to find those to do care, and are willing and open minded to even have a conversation that could potentially turn into a solution. The world we live in today is always full of opinions, but it’s the ones that actually use their opinion to try and change is where it’s not always encouraged. Let’s learn to use our opinion to help change negative things within the world. We’re not going to change it over night, but we’ve got to start somewhere. 

The Question Girl - Thought Post! 

I’m back again with some more ideas and designs. If you’ve read the previous post you’d know that I've been wanting to add some more colour on the posts with the question. Since the logo ideas I’ve been loving the orange so I wanted to roll with at least one or two colours that are the same throughout. 

I’m feeling quite pleased with these ideas, and think the first is my favourite then third coming in as second favourite. I feel like there’s just enough going on in the post, it’s straight to the point and that’s that. Whereas my current designs I feel are quiet busy you know? There’s a lot going on, and I find the picture in the background can be a little distracting? Don't get me wrong the fact that I've looked at the a million and one times doesn’t help but what can I do. I suppose it’s only going to get better the more I experiment.

This week I've been really getting organised, and thinking ahead of where and how I want question girl to go. It’s been really exciting, and I’m really looking forward to getting everything planned and set ready for a live. 

Looking at the posts since uploading onto Tumblr I’ve decided that I’m not too keen on the question posts and how they look. I feel they look a little dull, and could do with some colour! I wanted to create a little logo that was easy to just place instead of it taking up most of the space. So far I’ve come up with those two designs, I’m not 100% sure still. However it’s the first two that I’m actually quite pleased with. 

One thing I’ve found is that it’s really hard to represent a question! I could use a letter Q, but then it’s awkward putting writing over the top and thing’s like that. I’m enjoying having a play around, and wanted to share this to show the process and more behind the scenes. 

It might just look like a simple live once a week, but there’s a lot of planning and reasoning that goes into these lives and I think that’s the side that I want to show also. Which is ideally why I started the Tumblr in the first place. When it comes to the posts I love creating them, and could spend hours doing so! 

The Question Girl Week 4 - Are you good with money? If so how? If not, why?

I LOVED! this weeks live, I felt there was so much discussion in the comments about this subject and that is exactly how I want The Question Girl lives to go. This is a space for mostly my viewers to be able to express their opinion and what they think to potentially help others and I felt that’s exactly what we did. 

1 HOUR!?!? Let’s not forget the fact that it went on for a whole hour, I felt every time I went to end the live from being to long another conversation sparked up. This weeks question was picked because I feel that money isn’t spoken about often in a confident way, especially if you’re not very good with money. Money can be the root of all problems, and it’s one of the top contributors to bad mental health. 

It was very clear during the live that it took the direction of our childhood influences and how they were with their money. It really does just depend on who you are and what you’ve experienced as a child growing up. We had also covered the topics of when is it the best time to allow children to learn about money management etc which I thought was really interesting! I didn't expect so many conversations to have come from this question! 

The Question Girl Week 3 - What was your childhood like? Has that had an effect on who you are? 

After last weeks question being not as deep, I went in with something that was very personal to me and it can get as deep as people want it to be. My childhood had a huge effect on me my whole life, even when I was a child. It’s taken me a good 2-3 years of a lot of hard work to get over it and move on, and that was really the reason why I wanted to ask this weeks question. To see if others have had the same experience, and if so how have they dealt with their experience. 

We are very much a product of our childhood, family/parents and environment and I think we tend to forget about those different factors and blame our behaviour etc on ourselves. When really it’s just what we’ve been brought up to do. It’s not until you become an adult, and see other ways of living, other opinions is when you begin to have an understanding and opinion on your childhood and who you want to be after that. 

I enjoyed the live and felt that there was some really good answers that covered many aspects of a childhood and were extremely personal which I appreciate so much. It was nice to speak about childhood, and being a child which is the direction it ended really. Children are important, they are our future. Using our experience, and theirs can help change lives for children. Overall I was extremely happy with this weeks live and loved the engagement that was given throughout. 

The Question Girl Week 2 - If you could ask a single person one question, and they had to answer truthfully who and hat would you ask? 

So! Week 2, still going which is always a positive note! Originally I picked this question next because I didn’t want all of my questions to be too deep and overwhelming at times, I also wanted to make my space more fun and not so serious all of the time. I was in quite a shock to see not so many people engaging with this question. 

I had asked a few people to answer this question, and a few were a little stunned and weren’t too sure what to ask or even who to ask. I found this bizarre and interesting all at the same time, as questions like this are something that interest me. So it was intriguing to find out why people don’t think of these questions. My friend had said, well I'm never going to find out the answer so what’s the point in thinking of the question? Which for a second I did understand, and think well yes that is partly true. However I did also think, well what if you was the person to find out that answer, you could be a genius! 

Either way, when it come down to the live it wasn't as engaging as my first live about Mental Health which had made me think maybe people are a lot more deeper than what I thought to out to be. I still really enjoyed this live, as it gave me an idea of what my audience is wanting to discuss! It gave me enthusiasm to continue onto the next week to find an even better question! 

The meaning from that live was to be a little more inquisitive when it comes to other people, and questions. The Question Girl Week 1 - What do you think effects mental health the most? What do you think effects your mental health the most? 

With this being the first week of The Question Girl I wanted to pick a subject that was relatable to everyone, especially since lockdown has come upon us - I thought it was a good question to start with. 

During the live there was lots of participation, and we spoke about lots of different avenues when it comes to mental health. We had others speak up about their journey and how they’ve been effected during their life, but most of all I was surprised to see very similar answers across the whole. 

Overall I had some great answers, and wanted to leave my viewers with something. I had brought up Elmer the elephant as a little gift to leave with people to think off. During this time it was BLM (Black Lives Matter) which I thought was even more fitting. 

Elmer is a multi-coloured patchwork elephant, who lives with a heard of other grey elephants. Over time Elmer becomes envious and a little jealous that he doesn’t look like the other grey elephants. Elmer tries to become a grey elephant and fails whilst doing so, his other elephant family come to support Elmer and show to him that he’s perfect just the way he is. 

I wanted to bring that book up as the author had actually wrote that book because his daughter had a racial comment made towards her, and the author (her dad) never wanted her to feel different or left out due to her skin colour. Not only did I want to bring up for that reason, but I also wanted to remind everyone on the live that we’re all different and wonderful in our own little way, and to continue to love and appreciate others for their individuality and uniqueness.

The Question Girl was created to give others a space to be able to share their opinion, experiences and solutions, improve critical thinking and to really get people thinking. The questions will bring others together, creating friendships and even a community. 

Bringing up different subjects that range with importance will help others in many different ways, and to also remind others that we’re all a lot more similar than what we realise. You may even find someone on a similar journey as you!
