Simkhira’s Small Town Save File 🤎

Simkhira’s Small Town Save File is now available (and so much has changed). Most importantly, this version does not require any mods or custom content (with the exception of included garage doors). Being able to open my save file without worrying about anything “breaking” has been so freeing. Version 2 also introduces new households, incorporates new lots / lot types, and other gameplay aspects. As many of you know, this save file is inspired by my small hometown in Southeast, USA. I wanted to create a nostalgic world that caters to my favorite gameplay style in The Sims 4: creating legacies. Over the past year, I have been able to transform Willow Creek, Newcrest, and Magnolia Promenade into something that I am really proud of. I hope you all enjoy the households, the lots, the small town lore, and most importantly - all of the love and effort that went into making my forever save file.
There's a local "newspaper" included in the zip file that contains more information about the save file's households, lore, clubs, and calendar. I highly recommend reading, however, I have also included more details (+ the download link) below:
Disclaimer: This save file requires all The Sims 4: EP's, GP's, SP's, and Kits.
All of the Sims have relationships (friends and enemies), careers, after-school activities, skills, degrees, lifestyles, public reputations, likes / dislikes, gender preferences, romance preferences, turn-ons / turn-offs, family dynamics, defined walkstyles, defined voices, social bunny (if relevant), cupid’s corner profiles (if relevant), inheritance wills (if elderly), marriage licenses, small businesses (if relevant), bucket list goals, and inventory sleeping bags (for toddlers-teens).
All of the Households have appropriate funds, household pets, scheduled maid services (if relevant), assigned beds, and auto-lights.
Most of the other worlds have vacation rental locations, wedding destinations, and university housing (to “study abroad”). All of these external locations were found on the gallery. Original creator credit can be found in each lot description.
The Simkhira Small Town Save File does not require custom content, except for custom garage doors AND (by popular demand) custom maxis match cars (which are all included in the download). Until we get proper residential garage doors, these will have to do. EVERYTHING ELSE IN THIS SAVE FILE IS CC-FREE. If you open the game and get a pop-up message stating that you are missing content - you are not :)

Make a backup of your “Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Saves” folder.
Choose between the "7-Day" calendar save or the "14-Day" calendar save. You can have both in your game without conflict.
Download the file, unzip, and place the file in your “Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Saves” folder.
If you already have a file with the same name, change the slot number to a number that you don’t have. (i.e. change Slot_000000003.save to Slot_000000004.save)
Once you open your game, you will see “Simkhira’s Save File”.
Once opened, “Save As” to create a copy of the save file for your own gameplay.
If the game says that you are missing custom content, no you aren’t. I have double-checked.
Lastly, enjoy and have fun!

SYONE 90'S SAVE FILE DOWNLOAD
version 1.0 - Oasis Springs

It's the first version, so for now there's only Oasis Springs. I'll update it every time I add a new world. I know it took much longer than I said it will, but I kept adding characters and optimizing it for better experience. Anyway, after 4 years of work, it's finally here 😌
The concept was to build lore like it was done in the sims 2 and 3, but from scratch and without reusing already existing characters from the series. There are completely new families created with the same depth. Every world has a different theme (just like it was with Pleasantview, Strangetown, Midnight Hollow etc). There are a few bigger stories that include most residents from one world (like it was with disappearance of Bella Goth) and then there are stories that connect households from different worlds. Besides that, each household member has their own story and given a starting point for you to make a decision when you start gameplay. I found that earlier games felt more interesting because the game guided you in which direction you should go, so I tried to recreate that. I also did my best for it to actually have consequences and playtested dynamics/different scenarios. Except from things stated in household bios, I added smaller side-stories or expanded a few backstories that you can only discover if you play the household and actually deep dive. Everything takes place in the 90s - outfits and builds are inspired by this era, but because it's hard to find stuff like this, you'll probably see some early 2000s inspiration too lmao.

THIS SAVE FILE IS NOT CC FREE.
You need it or all sims will be bald and deformed. I made pdf with all the download instructions. Please read it before downloading. Even if you have downloaded my sims before - read it, because I made a few changes.
I made a post going in detail about each world and families. Bios in game are short and only used as a reminder of what the household is about. To get the whole context and read the full household biographies, see links below.
I used all packs and kits, but it's used mostly for builds, so it shouldn't be a big problem - missing objects will be replaced.
DISCLAIMER:
It's still a work in progress. Sims in "other households" are either NPCs or townies from different worlds that will get an actual family when the world they come from will be added. For now, they are treated as a background characters to add depth to Oasis residents. For this reason, they don't have bios and have only basic features added to them. I might also slightly change their looks in the future updates.
Not all service NPCs are done, I will make an update with them because I want them to have background and think it through.
If a sim is mentioned, they exist. I just haven't made them yet and they will come with the future updates. For that reason not everyone has a lot of people they know - it will change when I add new characters.

Things you'll find in the save file:
9 community lots
12 residential lots, with 2 apartment units ready to move in
13 households, 39 playable sims and 44 npcs/townies
Each sim has skills, careers, relationships, sentiments, lifestyles, reputation, milestones, likes and dislikes and turn ons/offs, fears, custom voices, etc. All the basic things.
7 new, unique clubs - some are actual clubs to meet and do stuff, some are used as social circles, etc. Each club description gives you something to start from, some include lore hints. More to come in the future updates.

All builds are playtested, some doors are locked on purpose.
Now, some extra stuff I added:
Not everything is obvious - stuff mentioned in the bios and actual truth may vary. Some things are left out on purpose. I left hints everywhere: epitaphs, inventories, boxes, memories, pictures, ghosts, lot descriptions etc. Some are more subtle than other, some are contradicting. To some stories you will find a solution and some are made to have multiple interpretations. (because it's wip not everything can be completely solved yet)
I tried to bring back features from previous games, so that means scripted events. Of course, I couldn't actually script them, but I made something similar. At the start of the game, for the first two weeks, you should get notifications about different things taking place in different households. It worked like this for all playtesters, however, there's a possibility it will only show up after loading the specific household. It's not set up for all households and it will only happen once for each.
Individual bios make come back as well. You can read them in the notebook in live mode. They add more context and different perspective. Some include hints.
Wants are individually chosen for each sim and pinned to give you a starting point, like it was in the sims 2. Instead of a bunch of listen to music ones lol.
It was a small detail, but I liked how every sim used to have something unique in their inventory. I did it for some sims and I also added different books in bookcases for different households for more personalization.
Milestones go back to each sims' childhood - the ones I could, I unlocked with specific sims. Some will be unlocked in the future updates when new sims are added.
IMPORTANT: milestones are not chronological, unfortunately no matter what I do, the order keeps going back to random.
The amount of money is calculated, so if the sim is supposed to go broke if they won't do something, that's exactly what's going to happen.
More than usual amount of traits and more than one outfit per category, depending on the sim.
Also every career outfit is customized, so they won't look goofy until their next promotion.
No more deformed faces after aging up. Premade kids are made in a way so their features will look normal and similar to their parents when they age.
Because in-game photos break and can slow down saves, I made one cc photo for each world instead.
I set up number of days in the age group to get an idea who's older
I ignored preferences like decor or clothes style, so sims won't behave out of character if something has the wrong tag.
Npcs have personality, their own (just less complex) story and connections to main sims for more immersive gameplay.
I just wanted it to feel like watching one of those late 90s/early 2000s tv shows, so you'll probably find a few cliches and iconic tropes or popculture references like it was always done in the previous games : )

This save is still very much a work in progress. While most things appear to be complete (such as builds), there's still a lot to be done. So, keep that in mind. Also, I tried my best to playtest everything, but this is a HUGE save. So, it's possible I missed things. If I did, feel free to let me know!

If you want the townies’ relationships to stay intact, I HIGHLY recommend downloading MCCC. If not, you shouldn’t have any issues playing the save, but some relationships will eventually be deleted due to the culling system. Instructions here!
I did use one piece of CC, but it is absolutely not required in order to download this save. It's the Modern Family Portrait by RAVASHEEN! Download only if you want some cute portraits of the families.
