Daisy Johnson was the first Asian superhero Marvel introduced despite never acknowledging it.

Elena Rodriguez was the first Latina superhero they had.

Joey Gutierrez was the first openly gay superhero.

Coulson. I have so many Coulson feels. Shh.

1.  Those kids are never going camping again.

2. “I don’t sweat. I glisten.” Do men actually say that? Because that’s the greatest thing I’ve ever heard a man say. And only Clark Gregg can pull it off.

3. “You should know, I don’t like being poked.” Ahahaha. I mean, yeah, I wouldn’t either after Project Tahiti and Loki’s glow stick of destiny.

4. “Man of my age? That’s something you say to an old person.” Babe, you’re not old. You’re fine wine.

5. “So sad a man died this way, but so amazing.” I love season 1 fitzsimmons. So fun. So green.

6.  “She lied to us.” And you didn’t? Ward: pot, kettle, black.

7. I really do love how the show seamlessly integrates the Chitauri and the post-Avengers world.

8. Coulson and his self-sacrificing personality. It’s caused me a lot of pain and this sequence was no different. Ugh. He just wants to help people and he hates that he can’t help them all.

9. “I know it was more than that. I know I wasn’t here anymore.” Coulson, I swear to God.

10. I want to know why Fitz didn’t immediately check Simmons for the virus. I mean, immediately. He should’ve known.

11. Have I mentioned how much I really hate Skyeward? I mean, really dislike it. They tried to manufacture chemistry and it just didn’t work. Yuck. Clark and Chloe have more chemistry out of all of them combined, unfortunately.

12. Okay, maybe Henstridge and de Castedecker have some good chemistry too. Just a little bit.

13. Why are Clark and Chloe always standing so close together? I mean, it’s cute and I love it, but c’mon, they’re not doing platonic very well.

14. I’d call you Iron Man, Phil. (I’m sure Daisy would too.)

15. I’m all here for a May/Phil bromance, though. Like that would’ve been epic.

 I think about that as just some stuffy guy in a suit.  Little did we know Marvel was setting up the ground work for one of their best characters. 

 From Iron Man to his appearance in Thor where he secretly enjoyed watching this stranger beat up his men to his noble sacrifice in The Avengers.  I still adore how he would fan boy over Cap and have his own vintage card collection lol. 

What followed next was 5 seasons of this man taking charge of SHIELD and just being a badass leader who could see the good in anyone.  Think about it!  Who else would have give unknown hacker Skye a chance like that?  Who would have let her stay on the team after her lies?  Fast forward to now and he is entrusting her with leading the team in his absence.  

The hard part about this is that for 5 seasons Coulson has been the leader.  No one questioned it because he was a damn good leader.  He took what he learned as a Cap fan and applied to his own life.  I go back to the pilot episode when he demanded Fitzsimmons find a solution that has no casualties because 0 was the only acceptable number.  He never wavered in his belief that saving lives was SHIELD’s mission from day one.  So why is anyone surprised he gave up his only chance to save his own life to save the world?  Especially when he believed it was his time?

Its hard seeing him walk out of the show but at least its on his terms.  He gets to have some time with May before he leaves…..

Thank you Coulson for your service for being a damn hero.  And thank you to Clark Gregg for giving life to the character.  Now excuse me I’m gonna play Lego Marvel 2 to make myself feel better.
