Random Thoughts on AoS: 1x12 "Seeds"
How could I almost forget about this episode when it's a treasure trove of wonderful Cousy stuff? Hooooow?
1. “Coulson and I have other matters to attend to.” Daisy is immediately worried about Coulson and it’s so sweet.
2. “Bad seed isn’t a SHIELD term, Ward. It’s just a term.” Accurate. Ward is so robotic. I hate it. I really don’t like him.
3. Aww, the Wall of Valor.
4. Ward reaffirming that Coulson saw the best in Daisy from the moment he met her. It’s such a great, and true, statement. He will always be her cheerleader.
5. Fitz and Simmons being treated as rock stars at SciTech and joking around with the students. It is pretty awesome. The first season really did push to them aside.
6. Fitzsimmons immediately jumping into action. They really don’t get enough credit.
7. Oh, hello Ian Quinn. Good to see you again. Not.
8. I love Coulson in plain clothes. He’s handsome.
9. I also don’t remember this episode strangely enough. It’s weird. It’s like after Coulson’s revelation, I stopped paying attention to everything else.
10. SciTech showing Ward up and having a club in the boiler room. Ha. It’s adorable.
11. Lima, Peru because Coulson is a foodie. That sounds about right. That’s a thing I hate about procedurals. There isn’t a lot of characterization ever. Especially not in the first seasons and we don’t know a lot about Coulson, anyway. I would’ve loved to learn more about him as a person not as a SHIELD agent. I dunno. That’s just me.
12. “Agent Ward and I have been having sex.” Phil’s not even phased.
13. Phil realizing that Daisy was the 084. Priceless. He knew she was special from the beginning.
14. As soon as Coulson returns, Daisy is immediately, immediately, worried about him and continues to be worried about him. He tries to pull away but Daisy is like “nope.” The universe refuses to keep them apart.
15. “Ever since you got back from who knows where, you won’t look at me.” Oh, Daisy, babe. He just loves you and is trying to protect you and he doesn’t know what to do with this information.
16. I love this entire conversation. He realizes just how important the truth is to Daisy and just spills his guts and his heart right there in front of her. And then she starts crying and the music crescendos and he comforts her and those touches that are anything BUT platonic. Ugh. Just seriously. These two.
17. THEN THE TOUCH WHEN MAY IS TRYING TO LAND THE BUS IN THE STORM. I forgot about that. So soft and so caring.
18. “That’s the thing about Skye. What I told her shattered her world. Her lifelong search lead to stories of murder, and now it’s too difficult to continue. Her search is over. Her story ends here. But you know what she said? She said no—her story started here. He whole life, she thought she wasn’t wanted, that she didn’t belong, that every family that took her in didn’t want her stay, didn’t care. But all that time, it was SHIELD protecting her, looking after her. That’s what she took away from the story—not the family she’ll never have but the one she’s always had. Here I am telling her something that could destroy her faith in humanity and somehow, she manages to repair a little piece of mine.” This whole speech is the epitome of shippy perfection.
