The girl grabbed his hands and he didnât know why he found the gesture so soothing. He took a deep breath and looked at her, finding warmth on her icy green eyes. She said it was normal, she said she understood and for some reason, he believed it. âThank you.â The words were simply but Theoâs gratitude wasnât given easily. He didnât trust everyone, he didnât like everyone but he surely trusted her.Â
He sighed as she asked him to talk. He didnât. Usually, Theo liked to keep things to himself, sharing was just increasing the useless emotion and he didnât want to bother her with his stupid problems. âIâm alrightâ he nodded. When the girl said he scared her, he scoffed. âWell, I did warn you I can be quite scary, didnât I?â He said as he laughed without emotion. He was a mess. He was too emotional, volatile, agressive but he  thought he hid it well. âLetâs talk about something else, yeah?â he almost pleaded with his eyes. He didnât want to look like an idiot in front of her.
Those two words, with which Theo expressed his gratitude, made Sally smile, as she clearly perceived them sincere and true.  She really did understand him and, moreover, she also knew why heâd choose not to develop the subject and talk about it - in all honesty, she had the same method. Sally had alway preferred to keep things for herself. Maybe Zach was the only one to know a few secrets about her, but apart from him, she refused to open up to people and let them know her problems -  they didnât deserve knowing them and  she knew people could use them against her. In a way, the blonde wished Theo had more confidence in telling her stuff, but at the same time, he was just like her, in many aspects andâŚ.she wasnât the person to force someone into something they werenât comfortable with. Especially someone dear as Theo.Â
Sally sighed when Theoâs laughter spoke for itself. She sighed because even if she didnât know him that well yet, she knew enough to observe the state in which he was deepening into. It was a general mood that Sally observed in all the students on trial, even on her - she was strong, she knew it, but the time was passing so slow and the trial seemed more and more scarier with every day. None of the students on trial wanted to show it, but it was visible - at least for Sally who felt exactly the same. However, there was one thing about Theo: he was giving her hope and strength without even knowing it. When Sally would sit next to him, she felt she had a reason to fight. Theo kinda became the strongest motivation the girl had. Every time she;d look into his eyes, Sally found hope - hope and power. And a possible future for her. Maybe for both of them, but of course, this was a bit too much at this point, given the fact that they werenât even involved.
âBefore obeying to you wish, mister Nottâ, of course she had to make it sound like that, kinky andâŚterribly wrong at this point, â I want you to know something. I am not here to judge anything or to find happiness in your suffering. I want you to know that I am here to support you, if you ever need it,â Sally was still drawing soft and fine lines on his hand while speaking, as her eyes were trying to inspire him with confidence and honesty.  Also, that little kinky hint was said in playful manner, to lighten the mood a bit.â Now, letâs change the subject and say that you look ridiculously good in that Quidditch equipment. I know a lot of wonderful girls around here told you this already, but⌠here I am, praising you just as them - this should make you feel better. And donât worry, Nott, Iâd rather live on the edge, scared by someone like you, than stupidly happy with an ordinary, boring other one.â And there it was, she returned his words from a few days back. They came easily, but no doubt that âthe damageâ was done, as her heart skipped a beat after she uttered them.
âPlus, last time you warned me about being the worst one out of the two of us, I proved you wrong, so I donât believe your warnings anymore!â
It was not much about the game, to be honest. He just knew that his father was going to be pissed to let someone like Luna make him look bad and let Malfoy have all the glory. He knew he shouldnât care at this point, but getting his fatherâs approval was everything Theo wanted.Â
The change in Salyâs tone caught him by surprise but it managed to make him smirk. His smirk transformed into a gentle smile and he nodded at her words. âI know.â The boy gave the girlâs hands a gentle squeeze and then lift them up to kiss them. He knew this was childish, yet she seemed to understand and to cheer him up. He was truly grateful for that.Â
Theo laughed, for real this time, as Sally said he looked really good in his quidditch attire. âAh, you think so?â He said with a hint of fake modesty. âIâve heard a few rumors here and there, I must admitâ he shrugged. âDidnât think they were true.â He lied. âBut if you enjoy it this much, I canât say Iâm not glad.â he chuckled. He knew he sounded really dumb but at this point he didnât care. She didnât seem to care either but her next words left him breathless. âItâs...â he begun but he didnât know what to say. âIâm glad.â he said, recovering from the surprise and placing a smirk on his lips. âI wouldnât like to fight over you with some boring guy. I would win of courseâ he chuckled. âBut I wouldnât like to fight.â
