Murder Mystery Sentence Starters!! -- Accepting.

She was reviewing her notes thus far. This was quite the case. Did it trouble her? Of course. Every case did. But that was hardly relevant to the matter at hand. She needed to focus her efforts upon solving this. And she wouldn’t allow herself to falter in front of her underclassman. She needed to set aside her disgust with the cruelty of man, until after this was handled.

The comparison was expected. That she was considered to be the standard he was to be measured by was similarly expected. Kyouko Kirigiri carried her family’s legacy upon her shoulders. She was raised for this. Groomed from childhood to be a detective. A declaration that this was her intended and sole purpose. But there was more to life than what someone else said. And the boy before her was inexplicably talented. No one could just so happen to stumble upon a case. Her current concern had little to do with their titles.

Her eyes narrowed slightly. A gloved hand rose to her chin. She heard what Saihara said. Neither comment, nor critique was stated. The detective was silent for a moment, assessing the situation before her. Gears shifted as she processed the information. At last, a decision was made. One that would seem completely unrelated to the conversation, probably.

“...Hm.”

Whenever he was around school, he seemed to have a far away look about him. As if he was looking, searching for something. Someone, perhaps. Though he usually was away, if she remembered correctly. Of course, she herself was often out for cases. Her path rarely crossed with her underclassmen.

     There’s a short sigh that leaves through his nose as he glances down at the boolet in hand. Another season, another reason he gets to be named the Super High School Level Actor. All in a day’s work, right? But, at least there's someone on set he feels comfortable with. 

     “I’m as ready as I’ll ever be. I hope this season isn’t going to be our worst." 

“I see no reason to be concerned. The writing may be lacking, yes. We boast quite the star studded cast. With the right line delivery, it will do,” Kyouko commented calmly. The lead roles were maintained by him and her. The Super High School Level Idol.

Lavender eyes narrowed as she studied him. She observed the way he carried himself. A commanding air. One that would demand others to bend or fold, in his presence. In all honesty, the detective found it to be incredibly gaudy. Her opinion was nowhere to be found on her face. Her expression was deliberately neutral, undaunted. For reasons she had yet to discern, he was approaching her. How curious.

It was without doubt that she intimidated the younger detective. She’d pick up upon it quite early on. It was natural, unfortunately. As his senior, they were going to be compared. It was the detestable part of their titles. The unnecessary judgement and observations. Of course, his accomplishments were truly incredible. She was aware of them. Kyouko was one for paying attention, even when it seemed she wasn’t.

Their paths rarely crossed. She was, more often than not, away from school usually. Yet, they found themselves both within the school library. And apparently vying for the same book. She could tell by the way he seemed to shy away and busy himself. A gloved hand rested upon the book for a few seconds, as she debated. Then, she pulled it from the shelf and held it out toward him.

“Than you ‘ever imagined’?! Hey, what’s that supposed to mean..?!”

     Hinata turns, looking over to see his costar as he arrives on set, a thick script book in hand for the beginning of the new season. He heads over to her, a little less stiffly than he would with any of their other castmates. 

     “Kirigiri,” he greets, raising a hand quickly, but then letting it lower. “Did you take a look at the script for the first episode?" 

“I have,” she responded, nodding in greeting. Though they often talked at school, it had been some time since they were last on set together. Arguably, Kyouko thought the plot a little too predictable.
