The Oracle Report

Day One 

Hello, everyone. Welcome to The Oracle Report. As I am sure you can tell, I am Oracle. The only reason I am doing this is to keep my thoughts in order as I work. What is this work, you ask? Well, when I’m not dumpster-diving for scrap tech, I scour forums and newsfeeds for companies with way too much money that could stand to have a little less. I know, I know. Technically what I do is illegal, but I swear, I only target companies that I know deserve it. Not because I’m some noble Robin Hood type but because I know that when it comes down to it, I would rather a shitty company pay my bills than a good one. Steal from the rich and give to myself. You gotta do what you gotta do. Follow if you want, ignore if you don't. If you are a fed, Everything on here is satire. Please don't arrest me. Thanks for reading.

Hey all, it’s been a while. I got a short update for you today. I got a tip about a low security company committing serious wage theft so I tried to get in and take the money back. Turns out it wasn’t low security and I got hurt pretty bad. A few weeks and one medically induced coma and I’m back in action. Expect more content soon. Hopefully I don’t die again.

Well, it’s done. The surgery went well enough and the recovery has been quick. I’m back on my feet and moving around. It’s weird though, it’s a lot better than my last one but I guess I’m just not used to it. I basically had to re-learn how to walk. It’s a pretty basic model but I wonder what kinda modifications I can make to it. Maybe I’ll open it up and poke around. While I was recovering, I did get a phone call from a Mr. Kross asking for some info about a guy. I try not to ask too many questions, so I just dug into this guys phone storage and found his location. Mr. Kross mumbled something about this city then hung up so I think I did a good job. I think this is it for now. I’m gonna just keep on getting better on my leg and hope I can hit more missions.

Nov 11th, 2124

Only two missions under my belt and I am already able to afford a new leg. I am so fucking glad to get rid of this peice of shit. I am honestly a little sad to see it go, though. I mean, ive been working on it for years now. However, the amount of pain in my ass that this has been overrides any sense of pride. I have contacted a dealer in cyberware and I have already confirmed the installation of the standard model of leg augmentation. Its gonna run me about 10k but after last weeks mission, thats totally doable. I am buzzing with excitement. My appointment is tomorrow. I did need something to take my mind off of it or I was gonna pop. I was able to dig up some info on the people from my last missions. I found Payne, the cyber-cowboy’s contact info by some sub-legal means. After some self hyping, I just gave him a call and asked him to teach me how to shoot a little better. After all, I have no idea what to do with this gun. I am about to meet him at a range (i hope) and learn some things. 

Nov 8th, 2124

I do not know where to start. My body hurts, my head hurts, everything hurts. That mission almost took me out. Firstly, Father Basili and Payne were there. There were two others though. This pretty boy named Noah and this detective named “Mr. Kade Kross”. We were tasked with protecting this girls stream from potential invaders. We meet the contact in a park and she brings us into her fucking FANCY helicopter. She tells us that we need to protect her by any means but to keep it on the DL. We got in there and after some time to prep, we got word there were people invading. Oh shit I didn't even say. That streamer girl? It was Selkie. Thee Selkie. Number three streamer in the world. Insane. Anyways. I was doin my hackerman thing trying to hold down the fort when I got sent a fucking hack-package and was all but taken out. (Now this next part was retold to me because I was kinda unconscious) Payne went down to the ground floor to kill a guy in the basement. After that guy, he killed the hacker that knocked me out (what an ally). The Father and the detective guy got one dude sneaking around in the back room. After that, the Father was able to intercept a chemical bomb in the elevator by destroying it. (it being the elevator). Noah, the pretty boy, woke me up (also what an ally) and we were able to scare off the attack drone that tried to gas us. I was able to get the HVAC going and we got everything as cleaned as could be. All of us gathered back up and we got Selkie out by helicopter. It looks like Father Basili took a hit, though. Maybe that didnt go as smoothly as I was told while I was out. Regardless. This one took a major toll on me. I cant lie though. I think im starting to enjoy the rush. Im really going to enjoy the new leg that im gonna buy with this payout. Am I crazy for wanting more missions? Please leave a comment and tell me how messed up i am.

I'm gonna do it. I am gonna take the mission. I have nothing else going on besides to sit here and rot. Last time I was able to be even a little useful (despite being with a religious freak and a robo-cowpolk) so I think I can be even more helpful this time now that I know what to expect. I feel like this might get me closer to the skills I need to start taking a crack at the assholes that denied my family medical care just because we looked too poor.The fucks that took my leg and more importantly, my parents. I need to get ready for this. Ill check back in afterwards.

Nov 4th, 2124

Welcome back to The Oracle Report. The last update was intense both mentally and physically. Getting into that AIs code sapped my energy. I've spent the last 5 days just laying on my couch watching shitty daytime T.V. and napping. I was able to do a little digging on the forum on which I received word of the last mission. Upon looking, I wasn’t able to find anything valuable. Just proxy servers on proxy servers with no way to tell where the messages are coming from. Now, dear readers, here is the big issue of the day. I received a message on said forum about another mission coming up. It was said that this one will be substantially more challenging. What do you guys think? Should I take it? I’ll update soon. 

Oct 30th, 2124

Shit guys, where to even start. You know how I was short on cash? Yeah, so this random guy hit me up on a hidden forum and said he had a job for me. Said it paid in the thousands. Of course I took it (even though they said I would have to go to some shitty dive bar to get the job). When I got there, I met a religious freak in a gas mask who said his name was Father Basili. The bartender called him Vlad though so I guess that works too. We got sent to Old Tampa in search of some guy with more details. When we got there, this total schizo was talking about his lost daughter. Turns out this "retrieval" was for a Child. A. An AI made for rich parents to have a kid without having a kid. After being pointed to an old rig out in the bay, we took our little boat out into the storm. After rigging up a sail out of the trash in the bay, the Father pulled some prayer lightning magic and with nothing short of divine intervention, the winds changed and we got pulled towards the rig. That’s when this guy dressed like some sorta space cowboy pulled up on a hoverbike thing introduced himself as Payne. After some recon, we found out they had like 40 of these kid AIs running a sweatshop. I used my amazing hacker skills to kill the power and the Father and the Cowboy infiltrated in the dark. Cowboy killed the leader and the Father captured the other two. We found the girl we were looking for but her *(Its?)* memories had been wiped. In a gut-wrenching moment, I had to go into her code and wipe her slate clean so she could make some new memories with her dad. After a couple phone calls, we were back on the boat heading to shore. As for the other kids? Well, diary… Let's just say that I really hope they can swim… The father was upset, (obv) but I did all i could do. I don't know how many more missions I can take.

Oct 11th, 2124 

  It has been brought to my attention that last post was the first mention of my leg issues. Not that it’s any of your business but I lost my right leg as a kid. I got sick and the stupid fucking hospitals wouldnt treat me. This was right after my parents died and no one could take me in. I had to learn how to build, code, and use my own prosthetic leg with trash tech and from dumpsters and alleyways. It’s a piece of shit that is more work than its worth. I might get better use out of a peg leg to be frank. Someday I'll be able to afford a decent prosthetic but today is not that day. I did manage to sneak into the warehouse from my last post and found a semi-busted neural link. After some de-bugging, I was able to get it running. I might get a month out of this one. Hopefully more, but realistically less. That’s all for today.

Dude, business has been so slow. There is nothing to do here but sit in my room and wait. Rent is due soon and I'm not sure how I'm gonna pay it and still eat. My leg is acting up again. I really need something better but like I said, rent comes first. I heard that there was a cyberwear warehouse that got shut down for selling bootleg VR crowns that melted people's eyes. I bet if I go poking around there, I can find a new neural hookup. I will let you all know how it goes.
