What Matters || Theo & Ro
Ro couldnât stop her eyebrows from raising  as he said Ivy league back in the states. Then again, if was was to proceed on with law sheâd be looking at graduate schools. Even though Lancaster had a great graduate school in law, it wasât in her top five. She then looked at him and shook her head, âWell, iâll go where you go.â She said with smile. âThese past four days without you have been the worst and I donât want that to happen again.â Ro then kissed him lightly.Â
"Iâm sorry." She then sighed and ran her fingers along his jawline. "But do you even want to talk to her?" Ro looked at him, "I mean, I donât see how someone can do that. Especially to you." Roâs heart broke as she pictured it. Theo was too great to go unnoticed, and left alone. In Roâs eyes he deserved the moon and more. Quickly, she moved him onto his his back and  laid herself ontop of him, looking him in the eyes. "I love you Theo. " She said with a smile. "Iâm never going to leave you." She then kissed him deeply for a moment before pulling back. "You know to much." She then smirked before kissing him again.Â
Theo took her hand when she said she would go where he would. He kissed the back of her hand. "We can make that decision together when the time comes." Theo said. He closed his eyes as her fingers went against his jaw. He shook his head when she asked if he wanted to talk to his mom. He quickly opened his eyes as she laid on top of him, he let his arms wrap around her waist keeping her in place. He laughed before she kissed him the second time. "I love you too babe."
He let his hands slip down to her ass, giving it a squeeze. "I can show you how much if you want." Theo joked and laughed. "Is there anything else you want to know?" Theo asked. He figured he had opened up this far and might as well get it all out now, if she wanted that is.Â
What Matters || Theo & Ro
Ro listened to Theo, never breaking eye contact with him. Even though their stories were different, she didnât realize how much they actually had in common. The thing that stood out the most was that they were alone, she admired at he worked hard for the things he had. It explained why he kept everything so neat and organized for the most part. As Ro looked down at him she smiled, âSo no wonder you always made amazing food.â Â Theo had always been the better cook out of the both of them, Ro usually stuck with pancakes and sweets where Theo could potentially cook a three course meal.Â
"Iâm going to be honest with you though, not only as your girlfriend but as your best friend. It sounds like a lot of what your Dad wants to do, and not a whole lot of what you want to do." Ro then looked over at her bookshelf remembering that she an scheduled a meeting with her academic advisor, debating on changing her own major. "If itâs what you want to do though, Iâm not going to stop you. I just want you to be happy with the life you lead." She then placed a small kiss on his forehead. Ro debated on asking if he was still in contact with his mother, but she didnât want to overwhelm him. Knowing how hard it is to open up to someone the first place.Â
Theo smiled as she admitted he was the better cook. He gave her a light kiss. "You just stick to your pancakes babe." Theo joked. She really was good at making pancakes so whenever she wanted to take over cooking he would let her. Theo tried to shrug again as she talked about his major. "It's interesting enough that I could see myself doing it. The pressure to excel can be a bit much though. Like he wants me to possibly go back to the states and go Ivy if I don't stay here."Â
Theo smiled a little when she had kissed his head. He looked up at her and saw the question she was trying to hold back from asking. He could always tell when something was on her mind. "No. I don't." Theo said and looked down. "She left without a trace. I think my dad has tried tracking her down but didn't have any luck. He only got some papers in the mail with no return address."Â
What Matters || Theo & Ro
"I know, but itâs different nowâŚ" She said quietly. "In a good way though." Ro smiled as he kissed her again, still getting the same butterflies sheâd always gotten with him. "Babe is something I definitely like you calling me though. Just donât call me sweet cheeks, or cutie pieâŚthose are just eh." Ro shrugged as she explained. "For our date though, iâll need to know what sort of outfit I should get. I donât want to go bungee jumping in a dress." She joked with him before kissing his cheek.Â
Theo had always been a mystery to her in some sorts, I mean sheâd known a few things here and there but nothing too personal. It was decided early on they didnât need to go into detail on one another, even though everything they had decided early on had now back fired. Ro didnât regret it though, she was so happy right here with him. Now all she wanted to do was know him more. Theoâs family, his past, what had made and shapped Theo into the man she loved. âThat sounds like a really good start.â She then moved back enough so that she could see his full face as he spoke.Â
Theo shrugged as best he could when she said it was different to kiss him now. He smirked as she said she could get used to being called babe. Theo moved his head to her lap, looking up at her. He laughed at her joke. "It's gonna be a surprise so I'll let you know." Theo said with a smirk. He already knew what they were going to do and where they were going to go but he had a plan of telling her an hour before to get ready, a spontaneous date would be fun.Â
He moved his head back to the pillow it had rested on earlier and looked at her. "Well, I used to live in the US with both my parents. It was a decent childhood until middle school. I don't really think that it was a typical childhood because even though we were rich I always had to work for my own stuff. I started chores as soon as they thought I was young enough to have an allowance, so like ten maybe?" Theo paused thinking about it. Everyone always expected him to get off easy and just be handed money but it was the complete opposite. "My mom left when I was starting middle school and that's when my dad got all beserk about my future and stuff. It's why he's hard on me. We moved to London not too soon after it was finalized. I got a job at the working age and have always had to make my own money, even more so now. He works a lot so I was alone a lot, but I learned how to cook with all the free time. He wants me to run the business not too long after I get my MBA so he's on me a lot about my grades."Theo said. He leaned over and gave her a kiss.
What Matters || Theo & Ro
Ro laughed as Theo laid her down and kissed her. There was something different between them now, or maybe was it something that was between them had been removed. As soon as he laid beside her, she moved closer to him, intertwining her legs with with his. When he mentioned a date she raised her eyebrows. Sure theyâd done things together like get ice-cream and see some movies. It was never really a date though, it was just them hanging out.Â
Ro then smiled, âI would say soâŚ.â She said and began rubbing his head with one of her hands. Before he could reply she leaned in and kissed him deeply. After a moments she pulled back, a light pink color going across her cheeks. âSorry, I just felt like kissing you. I hope you donât mind thereâs going to be a lot more of that.â She then smiled and looked at him. âTheo, I want to know something about youâŚI mean this entire day has been me pretty much having word vomit everywhere, I want to know more about you.âÂ
Theo kept his arm around her as their legs came together and intertwined. Theo smiled as she said that meant they should go on a date, a plan already forming in his head. He kissed her back and let her continue rubbing his head. He laughed when she apologized for kissing him but said there would be a lot more of that. "Babe, you know that since we decided to be together you don't need permission or anything. Not that you asked for it before." Theo explained with a laugh. He pulled her in close, giving her a quick kiss.Â
"Is there anything in particular you want to know?" Theo asked. He saw why she wanted to know things about him, so far he knew a lot about ehr and she didn't know too much about him. It was justified but Theo still hated feeling vulnerable, especially if she wanted something personal. "I could tell you about my family?" Theo offered.

What Matters || Theo & Ro
As they kissed Ro felt a wave of relief, this was right. This is where she needed to be, and who she needed to be with. When Theo began talking she sat up with him, resting her back against the wall. Her heart filled with the joy the more and more he talked. This was the first anyone had ever said something like that to Ro and the tears forming in her eyes showed it. She laughed lightly when he winked and shook her head. He always knew exactly what to say to make her heart smile.Â
"TheoâŚ." Ro looked at her hand in his and squeezed it tightly. "I want to be honest with you." She words hung in the air for a moment before continuing. "I have never known anyone who actually believed I was enough." Her eyes  began to fill with tears. "Until I met you." She then bit her lip and shook her head. "These past four days have been nothing short of hell, and I need you so much. I love you so much." She then turned her head away, looking at her bookshelf that was now nearly empty. Having thrown out most of her psychology books during her rampage. "And Iâm so scared, iâm so scared that the girl you deserve is going to come along and youâre going to wake up one day and I just not feel the same about me." She then looked back at him. "Because thatâs what happened to Wes and I. After I met you, I began to fall out of love with him so fast, one day I just woke upâŚand I told him it was over and left."Â
"I knew I loved you the moment we hugged the second time I saw you. Possibly even before that." She then moved over toward him, Climbing into his lap and wrapped her legs around him. "Even though I am scared, I want to bed with you." Ro rested her head against his forward. "Iâve wanted to be with you so longâŚ" She closed her eyes and ran her hands down his arms. "I want something real, and I want it with you." Slowly, she opened her eyes and pulled away from his face, looking at him. "So yes, Iâll go steady with you. " Roslyn then pulled him in for a kiss, wrapping her arms around him.Â
Theo shook his head as she said that he deserved more than her. "There is no one more perfect for me than you." Theo listened as she talked about what happened between her and Wes. Theo kissed her cheek. "We're different than you and Wes were. I f anything starts happening we'll work it out. Promise." He grinned as she said she had loved him for a long time.Â
Theo moved his arms so that she could sit in his lap and wrap her legs around his waist. To keep her secure he put his arms around her waist, holding her close to him. He looked up at her through his lashes as she rested her forehead against him, he let one of his hands rub up and down her back. Theo grinned when she said she wanted to be with him. He kissed her and rolled over so he was leaning over her. "You," he kissed her, "make," another kiss," me so," yet another, "happy." He finished before planting another kiss.Â
He moved back onto his side, keeping her close. It may have taken him awhile to realize that he loved her but he knew that loving her had just suddenly happened, it had been building since the first time he saw her at a party. He was drawn to her and the past four days without her were something he never wanted to experience again. "Does this mean we need a first date?"
What Matters || Theo & Ro
Ro couldnât help but chuckled as he put in, âRebel Without A Cause.â. It was not surprise of course, this movie was his âBreakfast At Tiffanyâs.â As he laid down she smiled at him, watching his every move. When he hit play Ro tried focus on the movie as much as possible. Even though she liked the movie almost as much as Theo did, her mind was wondering elsewhere. Her eyes kept wandering over him watching the movie. He seemed so content and peaceful. It broke her heart as she remembered the last time they were laying her like this.
What if she was stick again though? It wouldnât be fair to him. Theo deserved so much more. He deserved someone who was beautiful and kind, who wasnât afraid to tell him how she really felt. Maybe a Tri-Delt, then they could do cute Greek things together. Roslyn swallowed hard, she would never be enough for him. She was too much of a joke, a coward, and most of all she wasnât healthy. Hell, she wasnât even sure if she would be able to have children. As she thought, she glanced over at him again. Theo began to look tired, and knowing he was hung over she began rubbing his head. Everytime she would wake up to Theo hung over next to her, sheâd do the same thing. Heâd never said he didnât like it, so she just kept doing it.Â
As the movie came to an end she moved her hands down from his head to his cheeks, guiding him to look at her. âTheo-â She said softly as she looked him in the eyes. This is where she would do it, she could end it right here and right now. She could set him free from her, and the burden she was. It took only seconds before her eyes filled with tears and she took her hands off of him. Ro could not be selfish, she had to be strong. As her mouth opened, a few tears escaped her eyes.  For a moment she closed her eyes, and swallowed hard. Let goâŚÂ she remembered Theoâs voice in her ear from the last time theyâd had intercourse. And when she opened her eyes, the words glided from her lips into the airâŚ
 âI love you.âÂ
Theo let his eyes close as Ro started rubbing his head. She always helped with his headache, and it felt nice when she did it, hungover or not. He listened to the movie as it started to come to a close. He thought about how nice it was, just like it was before the fight, laying there with Ro. He couldn't help but smile.Â
After today he knew he needed to be with her, sick or not he would be there. If it turned out that she was sick he would enjoy the time he had with her and really appreciate the little moments. If she wasn't sick he would appreciate things all thee same. Her hands moved to his cheeks, telling him to look at her. He saw the tears welling in her eyes and was confused. Then she said the words he had been hoping to hear for the last four days.Â
He knew she meant it, she wasn't saying it out of pity now. He reached a hand up to her cheek and pulled her down for a gentle kiss. "I love you too." He kissed her again and sat up so that he could face her." I learned a lot today." Theo began and took her hand in his. "I learned a lot about you," he paused to kiss her hand." And I learned a lot about what I want. I want to be with you Ro. Sick or not I want to be your boyfriend. I want to be the one you talk to about your day, the one you go to when you don't feel good, and the one who gets to love you. All of you." He sent her a wink at the last part to lighten the mood so that she didn't feel overwhelmed. "You told me the words I wanted to hear for the past four days so I know you want this too. Be with me?" Theo asked.
What Matters || Theo & Ro
For the moment they rested there, Ro closed her eyes. She just wanted this moment to last as long as it could. She wanted to remember every second, feelings, the way he smelled, the way his head rested on his shoulder. Theo was all she needed right now, and when he pulled away and wiped the last few of her tears she grave him a small smile. âOkay..â she said slowly and smiled as he helped her off of the bed.Â
She changed quickly, back into her warm cashmere sweater and jeans. They didnât talk as they left the room and Ro had to sign more paperwork. The nurse said the Dr. Menzel would be in contact with her by the end of the day regarding the tests. When they finally got to Theoâs car she slid into the passenger seat waiting for him to get in.Â
"Thank youâŚ." She said looking at him as he climbed into the car. "For everything." Roâs hand then reached out and held his, needed some kind of physical contact with him. There was something about Theo that made her feel brave, and as long as he was holding her hand she could do anything. As Theo drove she kept a hold on his hand, looking out the window.Â
Theo wasnât like most guys sheâs met, or in fact had ever met. Roslyn would be lying if she had felt something when walking into the party freshman year, her eyes landing on him first. He was funny without being mean, and he had this smile that could make your heart run a million miles an hour. The next time Ro saw him after that party, she ran up and hugged him. The way he looked down at her, and smiled was honestly the moment Roslyn knew she loved him. When they finally kissed for the first time that just sealed the deal for her.Â
She didnât lie when she first described Theo when writing to her older brother. âTheo is the guy I can make pinky promises too and know he wonât break them. Heâs my secret keeper, my motivator, my knight in shining armor, and most importantly my best friend. Junior, he just has this smile that makes you feel like youâre worth while. Heâs also so tidy and neat. He tends not to let a lot of people in, but Iâm glad he chose to let me in. I donât think I could ever live in a world where Theo Masterson wasnât in my life. As a matter of fact, I donât even want to think about it.
P.S Heâs also VERY attractive topless and had the perfect tush. 10/10 would recommend.âÂ
Theo only nodded as she thanked him. It wasn't a problem for him, he loved her and would do anything for her. He let her continue to hold his hand as he drove them back to campus. He stopped at a fast food restaurant and ordered for both of them. He placed the bag in Ro's lap and the milk shakes in the console before taking her hand and driving the rest of the way. Theo handed her a milk shake after he parked before taking the food and his own drink and getting out.Â
Once he had locked the car he reached for her hand again and led her back to her house and up to her room. He had left his James Dean movies there during the fight and his room was a mess. He didn't want her to have to sit around while he cleaned. He took off his shoes and went right over to her bed, sitting up so he could eat. He motioned for her to come and sit between his legs.Â
"Come here." He said rather quietly. Once she was settled between his legs he let her lean back against his chest slightly before handing her a burger and some fries. He kissed the side of her head before he started eating his own food. He didn't want them to think about the test results that they would get later today and he definitely didn't want to think about his head ache that was just now starting to come to light. "Do you want to watch a movie?" Theo whispered after they had finished eating. "I'll put it in." Theo said as he started picking up their trash. He threw it away before putting in "Rebel Without A Cause". He walked back over to Ro's bed and lay down beside her.
Task 3 || First Day and Rushing
Theo wasn't excited for rush like his roommate and best friend Nic. Theo already knew what fraternity he needed to be apart, the one he would be apart of. Phi Delta Theta, just like his dad had been. Nic made sure that they were in the same group and the tours started going on. First was the Kappa house, then Sigma, before ending with Phi Delt.Â
What Matters || Theo & Ro
As Ro laid still on the scanner she could feel her heartbeat racing, âTry to relax RoslynâŚâ Dr. Menzel said through the intercom. With a deep breath, Ro closed her eyes. She thought of the first moment Theo saw Tommy, noticing a look on his face she couldnât quite place. What if she was sick? There was no way she would be able to put him through that, no one wants to see their best friend dying. Right? Theo wasnât her best friend though. It was already out in the open between them. Ro knew exactly what she wanted though and that was-
"Weâre done." Dr. Menzel came over the intercom and Ro was slid out from the tube. It had felt like itâd been hours laying in there under that thing. However, now she was able to go back and be with Theo. She didnât wait for the nurse to come in before standing and walking towards the door. For a moment her heart stopped, not seeing Theo in sight. Maybe it was to much of her to ask, maybe she should ofâŚwhen she turned around she saw him standing there and she smiled at him. Not the half tired, small smiles sheâd been giving him all day. A full, ear to ear grin that almost brought tears to her eyes.Â
When the nurse led them back into the room she offered Ro something to drink, but she quickly declined saying she was on a juice cleanse. Which had been true, due to an up coming photo shoot. As she sat on the exam table she looked over at Theo. âI was 14.â She said slowly, âIâd gotten a bruise on my back from a fight iâd gotten into trying to defend my brother. The bruise didnât go away though.â She swallowed hard and rubbed her hands together. âI went to my normal doctor, who immediately sent me to the childrenâs hospital downtown. Which I had to take the bus too since my parents were to busy.â
Ro broke eye contact, a rare thing for her to do mid conversation. âThey ran a bunch of tests, and when my doctor came in he kept asking for one of my parents to show up. Contacting my Dad was a huge no, heâs a Harvard law professor and interrupting him was just not something we did. I tried contacting my mother, but she would only text me. They tried calling, I tried calling.â Ro bit down on her lip, âShe would only answer through text messages. Telling me to give them the card and sheâd pay whatever. My mom not only refused to come to the hospital, but wouldnât even pick up the phone.â She shook her head and balled her hands into fists. âI was forced to tell her theyâd found stage 3 osterosarcoma in my shoulderâŚ..through text message. From there, thatâs how the whole thing went. They wanted to act fast to prevent it from spreading. All my mom would do is pick me up and drop me off, signing the needed forms. They kept it from siblings, just saying Iâd picked up tutoring.âÂ
"The worst part was when my hair started to go and a nurse suggested that I just shave it clean and that would be easier. Since I was getting sick more often than not from radiation I just stayed in the hospital. No one really came to see me except my Dad like twice." She then looked back at him. "It wasnât until my surgery my brother and sister found out I was sick. I mean, I donât blame my mother for what she did. It was like if I died, they had already prepared themselves by becoming distant from me." Her eyes then looked away and she sighed. "And I did die." Ro didnât dare look at him as she got deeper into her story.Â
"When I was in surgery, the anesthesia had an adverse affect on me. Instead of going numb, I just became paralyzed. I should feel the cutting open my shoulder and that painâŚ.was greater than anything iâd ever felt. It wasnât long after I felt a weight on my chest and I heard the machines going off.  Everything just got so loud, doctors were yelling, blood was everywhere. I remember being flipped over and them trying to push air into my lungs, I remember the machines stoppingâŚand I remember the doctor over me pronouncing my time of death.â She then paused for a moment, feeling the tears run down her cheeks. âI remember asking myself why should I fight it? No one was waiting on the other side of that door for me. I wasnât going to greeted with familiar faces, I was going to be alone.â Her voice began to crack as she spoke. âBut then, the nurse started to cover my face and I heard a voice inside of me, telling me to fight. As soon as I heard that voice I felt myself sit up, and I let out a loud breathe before everything went dark again. When I woke upâŚâ Ro paused, allowing herself to cry for a moment. âMy brother was there, asleep in the chair beside me, holding my hand.âÂ
Theo let out a breath of relief as she came out the room and grinned at him. She was happy he was there and he couldn't help but smile back at her. He cocked his head, almost to ask her what she was doing, but followed her into the room anyway. Once the nurse left Ro started telling him about when she was first diagnosed. He could tell it was hard for her because she kept looking away from him. Theo moved closer to her and took her hands in his after she rubbed them together.
The story was so sad. Theo wanted to frown but kept his face neutral. He let go of one of her hands to rub her shoulder in support before going back to holding her hand. He placed a light kiss on her forehead at the part about what her mother did and how she had to go through it all alone and at such a young age. She stopped looking at him again and he used his thumbs to rub circles on the backs of her hands as she continued.Â
He wiped her tears as they started to stream down her face, he wanted to kiss them away but he didn't want to cross the fragile line they had. He kept wiping them as she finished her story with her brother holding her hand as she woke up. He gave her a sad smile. "Thank you for sharing that with me." He said and pulled her in for a hug, resting his head on top of hers.Â
After a moment he pulled away and looked at her. He wiped away the last of her tears." Let's get you back home. Juice cleanse or not we'll get some food and watch a James Dean movie." Theo said with a small smile. He took her hand and helped her off the table. He waited for her to change and sign some papers before they made their way back out to his car.

What Matters || Theo & Ro
Tommy stared at Theo for a moment his out reached hand before shaking. âMy nameâs Tommy and Rosie is my future wife.â he blurted out quite proudly. This caused Roslyn to laugh and shake her head. Tommy had always been quite the character. Ever since she started volunteering with Charlie at the hospital, he had stuck by her side. She made it a point to see him as much as possible, knowing that she was one of the few people he was close to.Â
"RoslynâŚ" A nurse came and stood at the doorway then smiled noticing Tommy on her lap. "Tommy Weston, arenât you suppose to be in crafts?" She placed her hands on her hips which drove Tommy to wrap his arms around Ro, holding her close. "Rosie is better then crafts." He then pouted at the nurse.  Quickly Ro turned her head so she was looking at him, "Hey Tommy, why donât you make me something and when I go home iâll make you something. Then, when we have our lunch on Thursday we can give them to each other."Â
Tommyâs face then lit up with and ear to ear grin as he climbed off of Roslyn. âIâm going to make you the best gift ever!â he exclaimed then ran out of the room. After that Ro stood, and held out her hand to Theo. The nurse noticed, but chose not to say anything as she led them into the room. When she closed the door behind her Ro began to slide out of her clothes and into the hospital gown. âItâs just an MRIâŚ.â She said quietly, looking over at him. âSo it shouldnât be long, I know youâre hung over.âÂ
Theo just sat and watched as Ro interacted with the little boy. It was too adorable that Theo couldn't look away. She would make a great mother some day, the thought made Theo smile. He kept watching as the nurse came in and told Tommy he needed to go back to crafts. He grinned as the little boy said that hanging out with Ro was better than crafts, Theo agreed. He laughed as Ro reasoned with Tommy which led Tommy to screaming that he would make the best gift ever.Â
Theo took her hand, knowing she needed his support. They followed the nurse down the hall and brought her into a room where Ro immediately started changing. He looked away to give her some privacy. He shook his head at her comment. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine." The nurse came back and told Theo to come with her so they could start the MRI. "This is about you." Theo said to her as he left the room.Â
He didn't want to watch so the nurse pointed him to a chair in the hallway. He had an MRI before when he had an injury during football so he knew how long they could take. After a few short moments he walked over to a vending machine, buying a water, and quickly downing the whole thing. He went back to his seat and finally let himself think about Ro. She may have thought she was being weak but Theo thought the opposite. She was strong to trust him with this and he admired that she asked for help when she needed it. They were just more things to add to the list of things he loved about her.Â
What Matters || Theo & Ro
When Theo grabbed her hand the whole world stopped, a wave of relief washing over her. There were no words between them as he guided him back into his room. As he dropped her hand she felt her face frown. Even though it could be slightly selfish, she just needed to be there with him holding hands if nothing else. Ro watched him carefully, trying not to note all of the empty alcoholic drinks laying around. This was the first time sheâd ever seen his room in total chaos, however she didnât have room to talk. Sunday night she had gone on an emotional rampage, tearing down her bookshelf and throwing books. The only thing she picked up was the pieces of the broken mirror, for hazardous reasons of course.
When he held out his hand to her she immediately took it. As they walked through the house, she noticed eyes on them. She knew most of them knew about her and Theoâs falling out. Ro couldnât help but to feel bad, it had been her fault. Now she was here like some helpless child, begging Theo to help her. âThank youâŚâ She said as she got into his car, a familiar place to her. As he walked around the car, she leaned back and took a deep breath. Sheâd never told Theo sheâd had cancer, in fact most people didnât know. The only people who did were Charlie and Abbey.Â
As they pulled into the hospital she stepped out of the car and began walking. Her arms crossing over her chest as she did so. Once they had made it to the cancer ward, Roslyn began to be welcomed with waves and smiles. It was almost as if she was a celebrity. She guided Theo to the small waiting area and let him sit down. âIâll check inâŚâ Roslyn said before going to the font desk across the hall. A few smiles, and a few signatures were made and then she made her way back to Theo.Â
As she sat down beside him, she began to open her mouth. However, there was a knock on the door. âRosie?â a boy without hair stood in the doorway, fumbling his fingers. Quickly she turned and smiled. âHey there Tommy, how is my favorite little man today?â As she spoke  the boy came in, crawling into her lap and looking at Theo. âWho is he?â little Tommy ignored Ro and kept his eyes on Theo.Â
If he wasn't so focused on Ro right now Theo would have been panicking that he had someone over and his room was so messy. He knew people had been staring at them as they left but he hadn't cared, they could think what they wanted because it was between only him and Ro anyway. He nodded simply as she thanked him.Â
He followed her into the waiting area of the cancer ward and took a seat while she signed in. His fingers tapped nervously against the arms of the chair as he waited for her to come back and sit down. He looked at her and he knew she was about to say something until there was a knock on their door. He tilted his head a little boy with a shaved head came in and crawled into Ro's lap. He heard her call him Tommy but the boy immediately looked to him.Â
"I'm Theo." He said and offered his hand. Seeing the boy like this he could only imagine how Ro looked when she was sick. He immediately shoved the image away and looked at her now, she was tired, he coould tell their fight seemed to weigh on her, but other than that she looked completely healthy, which only seemed to scare Theo more.Â
What Matters || Theo & Ro
When Theo opened the door there was a pause around them. Even though he smelled of alcohol and looked like heâd been through hellâŚhe was alive. Roâs Theo was still alive and still there. When his voice came out sharply she couldnât help but to flinch. She knew that tone, that tone was the tone you would get if you were going to be shut out. Her hands balled into fists at her sides, This was a mistakeâŚ.. she thought and looked away. It was too late. Heâs said never to talk to him again and now she was just nothing more than a burden.Â
She couldnât be afraid though, she knew she had to tell him that she needed him to go with her. Even if her voice shook.  âTheoâŚâ she said softly, not wanting to look him in the eyes. âTheo I need you to come with me.â She swallowed hard and was trying not to start shaking, however her hands began to ignore her. âI got a call from the doctors this morning, I had some tests last week and they want to do an MRI.â She then finally looked at him, âIf I have to find out I have cancer again, I need you with me.â her voice cracked but she pushed herself to keep going. âNot just anyone, I need you.âÂ
After a moment of silence Ro could feel her heart begin to shatter. It was too late, they were too far gone. She should of ran out of that room after him, she should of just been honest. Instead she flew, like a coward. âI-iâm sorry.â She then shook her head and turned away starting to walk towards the steps. This had been a mistake. He was either to sober to realize what sheâd done or still drunk enough not to care.Â
Theo's eyes snapped open as she asked him to take her to the hospital. She was shaking and all he wanted to do was reach out and take her hands in his. He froze when she said she might have cancer again. She had never told him that she'd had it before. His heart fell further. He immediately felt completely sober and his mind started going a thousand miles an hour, and before he could move she started toward the steps.Â
He chased after her this time and grabbed her hand. "Let me get a shirt, some shoes, and my keys." He said gently and guided her back to his room. He left the door open for her to follow in behind him. He went straight to his closet, putting on deodorant and a clean shirt as well as a sweatshirt. On his way to the door he slipped on his shoes and put his keys in his pocket. He held his hand out to her. He knew she needed him, regardless of what had transpired four days ago. He led her out to his car and opened the passenger door for her.Â
He went over to the driver's side and got in. He let out a deep breath as he started the car. He didn't want her to be sick again, he couldn't even think of the very real possibility of what can happen when someone has cancer. He just wanted his girl to be okay.Â
What Matters || Theo & Ro
Roslyn laid in bed looking up at the ceiling of her room. The morning sun giving a golden glow. For about a week now sheâd been waking up to a sharp pain in her shoulder. However, that was the last thing on her mind. It had been four days since sheâd spoken to, or even seen Theo. Sure, sheâd heard plenty of things. According to the grapevine he had been drunk every moment since the whole thing happened. The though of him doing that to himself really hurt her. There was no way around the fact that it was entirely her fault also. If she could of only just said it back instead of retracting like a lunatic.Â
Her hands reached out, reading over Juniorâs letter to her. âDonât be afraid.â was traced over and over again to make it darker then anything else on the page. With a heavy sigh she folded the letter and placed it on her nightstand, next to the picture of them. âItâs too late Big BirdâŚâ She then rolled over and looked out the window. Through the small crack of her curtains, the sun was still rising.Â
That was when she felt her cellphone vibrate beneath her. Quick she sat up, rummaging through her sheets for it. Please let it be TheoâŚshe repeated under her breath. She just needed to hear his voice and know he was okay. She wanted to tell him how horrible the last four days had been without him. She wanted to tell him how much she needed him. Most of all though, Roslyn wanted to say she loved him too.Â
Doctor Menzel- Urgent
Roslynâs heart stopped as she read the the text on her phone. A few days ago she had called the hospital re-guarding her shoulder pain. She was taken in for some basic blood tests and told sheâd be contacted as soon as possible. After taking a deep breath, she answered the phone. âDoctor Menzel, good morning.â She said with a steady voice but her hands shook waiting for a response.Â
"Miss Grimes, good morning to you." There was a pause in his voice before he continued. "I have reviewed your labs and I want you to come in immediately for a MRI scan. There are a few questionable numbers on your blood counts and we would like to get you in as soon as possible." His voice was slow, but deliberate.Â
"Iâll be there as soon as I can." Roslyn then hung up the phone and looked at the now fully risen sun. Taking it in one last moment before getting onto her feet. As she began to browse for clothes she braided her bangs away from her face knowing it wouldnât be suitable if she had them down. Once she was dressed she hurried downstairs and out to her car, ignoring the few sisters who were up.Â
However, she went the opposite direction of the hospital finding her moments later going into the Phi Delta Theta house. She was noticed by a few pledges who were certainly up to no good. With one glance, they turned away. Once she was at Theoâs door she took a deep breath before knocking. After a moment she knocked again, saying his name. âTheo?â her heart stopped. Maybe there was another girl in there, maybe he had blacked outâŚmaybe he wasnât even there at all. âTheo please answer me, please.â
Theo had been a wreck, to put it nicely. There had barely been a moment where there wasn't some sort of drink in his hand since he left Ro's room four days ago. He had decided to stop drinking yesterday around noon and since then had slept the day away. As it was he barely left his room, he hadn't even gone to class which he knew would get back to his dad. Nothing mattered to him though; not his dad, not his future, not even his brothers in the house. All he wanted was for Ro to tell him that she loved him too but now he knew she would only say it out of pity. It was clear to him that she didn't love him.Â
It wasn't bad enough that his ex didn't love him but now the girl of his dreams didn't either. So he drank away the pain and refused to see the happy memories that flashed every time he closed his eyes. He didn't want to see or dream about it so he drank instead. All those years of sneaking away with his dad's liquor was paying off as he drank through the next four days, miraculously without puking or passing out. Then he decided that he'd had enough, he needed to be closed off again before his dad could withdraw him from school, he took his last shot and put the bottle away. Soon after drinking a bottle of water he decided to sleep.Â
He didn't know that he really had slept almost a whole day until he heard frantic knocking. He got out of his bed and walked over to the door, his hand rubbing his bare stomach as he walked. He opened the door and there she was. At first he was sure he was dreaming. He had said all those mean things to her and he honestly expected to never hear from her again. While he knew he did nothing wrong except maybe overreact slightly he felt bad about what he said. He needed her, if only in a friend capacity.Â
He saw her frantic face and immediately forgot about the looming hang over he was waiting for. "What?" he asked. He didn't want to let her in completely if she was just here as some sort of joke or reason to cause him more pain. Her face said otherwise but it was his instinct to protect himself right now.Â
