First visit to Ai Ramen, a relatively new restaurant in Stockholm serving home made noodles. The Tonkotsu Ramen is pleasing with a rich broth and creamy eggs, though the broth could have been served hotter. The pork was average  order extra or some appetizers if you are hungry.Â

Five years ago, as a direct response to the lack of decent ramen in DC, the Secret Ramen Society and #noodlelife blog was born. It's first meeting consisted of homemade ramen (by yours truly) based on David Chang's Momofuku cookbook
Today was my first visit to the new Momofuku DC! Â While not quite the same as the original NY flagship, it's a welcome sign that DC has come quite a long way in that time. Â #noodelife

Spicy Chicken Miso ramen at Momofuku.

Shoyu ramen at Daikaya. Broth tasted a little too charred. Egg was nice but I like a softer yolk. Noodles were good. I’d go back but definitely get a different broth.
Charsiu Tonktasu at Shoryu Ramen in London (9 Regent St) Great egg. Good noodles. Broth was rich without being oily but it was a little under-seasoned
First visit to Daikaya was super promising. Noodles were perfectly al dente and the Shoyu broth was very flavorful (although perhaps a bit oily). Â Looking forward to trying all the others.

Hard to believe but the Spicy Chicken Miso ramen at Momofuku might actually be my favorite now (over the Pork belly). Â The chicken is smoked and has this incredibly crispy texture and absolutely amazing favor.

Crab and Tomato Noodle Soup @Â Ba Le Bakery
Rai Rai Ken in the East Village offers shoyu ramen - noodles in a a soy sauce based broth. The noodles were chewy and half medium boiled had a slightly flexible yolk but did not contribute much to the overall flavor. The price was under $10 but the bowl only offered one slice of pork.
There was no wait for 9pm on a Friday night with quick service. Presentation was basic the spoon and boil were both traditional. Rai Rai Ken does not use MSG. Overall the experience was average.
