Colin Farrell is one of those actors whose career makes you realize how much you still need to watch.

After finishing Sugar, I wanted to revisit his filmography — but not as some definitive ranking of every major role. Honestly, I still have gaps to fill.

What I have seen, though, already says a lot.

Phone Booth shows the thriller lead. The Lobster shows the weird indie version. Daredevil shows the early-2000s superhero chaos. Sugar shows the quiet, stylish, genre-bending version of where his career is now.

At first, it looks like a stylish private detective story: Colin Farrell, Los Angeles, old Hollywood atmosphere, a missing-person case, and a wealthy family full of secrets.

Then the show reveals what it has really been hiding, and everything changes.

The goofy voices. The yelling. The ridiculous characters. The immature jokes. The same familiar comic rhythm.

But I have always found him hilarious, and I think his best movies show why he has lasted this long.

Happy Gilmore is still my favorite, but Click deserves more credit for the way it turns a goofy remote-control comedy into something surprisingly emotional.
