hi, we're the nest system! we like to draw comics about system things, both the funny and the not-so-funny.

collectively, we go by "bird" or "nest" and use they/them, and we are bodily an adult. individually, you can call us by our bird names or our color names.

there isn’t really any specific reason? just means “posted by this person”. kinda distinguishes it from tags of the actual bird i guess.

we saw another one of our system friends do it a while back to sign-off on their posts and just decided to do it as well. we’ve also considered tagging the people featured in our comic strips as “: [name]” but ended up not doing it bc we kept forgetting. and also the difference between : and ; is so minuscule.

some systems do emojis or stuff to sign-off their posts but it is significantly easier for us to use bird names than it is to search for the correct emoji each time. same reason why we don’t use images to sign off stuff (we made a post about that yesterday i think?). semicolon + bird name is quick and easy, and we need tagging to be easy or half of us will never bother to do it lmao.

anon, it is real in my dreams as well 💔 but alas. i cannot even begin to describe how disappointed we all are to say that no, i am not an untitled goose game introject. i do absolutely love the game and use gifs/screenshots from it all the time though!!
