City of Espers is a TTRPG about found families of fashionable psychics, going on adventures in a megacity. It's X-Men meets Splatoon. Or perhaps Persona meets The Warriors.
In its initial form it was partially a miniature wargame, because I wanted a game with minis that could be fashionable, and not just armoured soldiers. Though it's now a full TTRPG, the miniature painting soul still remains - and to celebrate the game being picked up by a publisher, I'm holding an art jam for painting, kitbashing or drawing your own Esper OCs!
Use the prompts (roll or just pick what speaks to you) to create your Esper, and if you share it with #CityOfEspersRPG, we'll show it off in our launch livestream at the start of September!
Text version of the prompts below the cut.
To share my own mini that I kitbashed and painted for this, meet Vernon Fox, House Father of the House of Stiletto!
The House wears black and yellow with a film nor aesthetic, and has a shared love of dancing. Vernon's signature gear is a cyberdeck, and has the Mind Knife psychic ability.
The House of Stiletto practice Ballroom (Waltz) just as much as Ballroom (Vogue). The Esper Battles they pose are exclusively dance competitions, though that doesn't mean they won't throw hands during one!
The psychic bond they've formed with the dance hall they use as a home base warps the light, so everything inside appears to be monochrome. However, as the House's popularity has grown, so has their Turf... and that colour-sapping effect has started to crawl beyond the bounds of the building...

Just reached the bit in my annual Skyjacks relisten where you join the cast. Every time I do I am struck with an overwhelming sense of how perfect you are as Orimar Vale. Wanted to send my appreciation, hope that isn't weird.
Have also really enjoyed hearing you in Skyjoust!! and that one episode of We Fix Space Junk. You're a pretty brilliant performer.
This is such a sweet message to recieve! I've learned so much as a storyteller and performer over my now multiple(!) years on Skyjacks, and I really appreciate everyone who has listened, read, watched and supported me on this journey.
I hope, as I continue creating and growing that y'all continue to enjoy and feel empowered to create for yourselves.
In your benevolence,
hear the Observer's plea for the meaning of Low Extremes.
Episode 7 of I Need A Miracle is out now. Search podcast apps for I Need A Miracle or visit www.foggyoutline.com/ineedamiracle for more ways to listen.
Starring Nathan Blades @theneoncaster as Wrenfrew, the Observer
It was a delight to perform on this!
Acting as someone having a mild panic attack over the nature of art and how others percieve you was more of a personal callout than I had braced for, ahaha

I got behind on skyjacks at the start of this arc and I've only just caught up and y'all? this is incredible!
this arc feels like everything they've been trying to build to over the whole show;
an anti-colonialist narrative which includes indigenous people who have been displaced and othered
body horror stuff with the butcher, the crimson and the various cures - the butcher's path and the church's, equally horrifying and terrible
the slow realisation of just how deep the whole system goes and how messed up it is
Two villains who embody these awful ideals and are actually smart and scary because we can see how much worse they'd get with the power to expand their range
I'm so impressed with the whole crew, they've just been getting better and better, if you've fallen off please catch up, I'm so hype for the conclusion of this arc and what comes next
Thank you so much!
While I won't go too much into behind-the-scenes context, thinking about how Orimar would handle the situation - as someone who has long resorted to bloody violence to protect what he cares about - in a way that stands to his ideals but isn’t reckless of other lives was a real challenge.
In real life, there are vanishingly few societal revolutions that are free of retaliatory violence from the oppressed. There are exceptions, but they're on small enough scale where things like mass walk-outs would truly affect the operations of the oppressors, who don't have further recourse.
In another timeline, I suppose we could have convinced the entirety of Sorrow's End, including its guards, to rebel against its two powers, but I don't think that would stop Truss or Aravetti from doubling down on their goals and world view.
Considering just how far you would go to protect a community under threat is both a sad and inspiring thought experiment, and I don't blame anyone who dislikes Orimar's answer to it.

Tumblr has been so nice about my first attempt cosplaying Der Freischütz, I wanted to let y'all know that I've put together a version 2! Call it an Uptie, haha.
In addition to taking a different approach to the makeup for a bolder contour and brighter 'flame' eyes, the top has been refitted for a cinched waist and hand-dyed for a much bolder gradient! I also sewed lace detailing around the trouser hem to feather out the transition to the boots.

Season 3 Preview!!!
"They can clearly all see something. There must be something to see. I just need to see it too."
Wrenfrew, the Observer – played by Nathan @theneoncaster Blades
In your benevolence, the Observer pleads for The meaning of Low Extremes.
@merelymatt says, Nathan takes a character in the middle of a class and social anxiety spiral – and makes you want to join them there. If that isn't what the tumblr audio drama luvvies want, then I don't know what is.
This was a delightful episode - and character - to voice!
If you've ever been in a space of art enthusiasts and just... tear yourself apart trying to see what they see in something, then this'll definitely speak to you.
Rounded out Pride Month on the weekend with painting minis in pride flag colours!
(And raising money for the LGBT Foundation while I was at it, we drummed up £109!)
The Lesbian bounty hunter has one of the best faces I've ever painted. Eyelashes! A well placed pupil! Blush AND highlighter on the cheek!
The Agender faerie put me at my limit though, gradient blending isn't something I do a lot, and the careful finelining I had to do for the veins on the leaves seriously levelled up my hand-eye co-ordination but also I'm not doing that shit again any time soon lmao
Shepherds and Wolves - Campaign Skyjacks episode 189
I needed to animate Orimar for my own sanity, I'll be back to your regularly scheduled mcyt art
Aaaaaaaa any time I get to see Orimar fanart it makes my day but an *animatic*??? You spoil us, thank you!!
A streaming celebration to round out Pride Month, I'll be raising money for the UK charity, the LGBT Foundation, with a duo of miniature painting streams!
At 1pm BST/8am EDT on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of June I'll be painting whatever miniature is winning the donation bidwar on the Tiltify page for the event.
If the leader of the bidwar changes while live, I'll also switch what I'm painting on the spot, so breaking a tie can get really chaotic!
Based in Manchester, UK, the LGBT Foundation offers intersectional support and advocacy for folks under the queer umbrella as well as training for medical professionals and councillors in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals.
Thank you for your support, and hopefully, I'll see you this weekend!

'A Rooftop Jam Session'
Rather than collecting miniatures for a specific wargame faction, I've started collections for, like, aesthetic themes. Is that weird?
If a game or mini sculptor has cool anime robots, musicians, faeries or fashionable sci-fi outfits I gotta get that shit lmao
