I feel like I was born to meet you

A third impact had been caused on the account of the actions of Evangelion Unit-01, which was manufactured with Lilith material as opposed to the other units. Imitation angels have been constructed to throw off some of the population, the reason why remains unknown. AA Wunder is a battleship powered by Unit-01.There are 4 pilots total, including Asuka. Evidently, she is not fond with the remaining three, particularly Unit-01's pilot. Interesting. 

She placed a hand on her chest, and stilled her breathing as quickly she could. Her voice certainly wasn’t as raspy as it had been before, thanks to all that, so she supposed she could count her blessings on that one. (Positive, think of the positives!) And despite the sudden appearance, it was rather sweet of a stranger to come check on her so easily like that. Hadn’t she seen his face before, somewhere? At least indirectly so, it was on the tip of her tongue… ahh well. Probably wasn’t important.

"Y-Yeah, I’m okay… It’s just a head cold. My room doesn’t have any heat, and I’m not really dressed for this place so… ehehehe." The rest went without saying, hopefully. "It was just a matter of time, I guess…"

"That should assist you for the time being. Your lovely skin should always stay temperate." He extended his arm towards her. "Let's go to the infirmary. We'll find some medicine to assist you and get you something to eat." 

Oh, an Eva was the engine of this Wunder? That at least gave him a bit on insight, but just sparingly. "Well, I wouldn't know. I have never met this pilot before. I just assumed. Still, they interest me." He smiled softly. "I'm sure they have their reasons. It's important to think in other's shoes. It's a really refreshing perspective." There he goes, instilling his moral lesson of the day. 

Nate squeezed his eyes shut, not wanting to see Kaworu’s disappointed face when his gift proved not to be good enough. “Breathtaking” was not a word that he was expecting. Glancing over to the perfect painting that he had just received, he remembered through the image of his mother about what she valued as important. It wasn’t about how glorious or expensive something was, it was the effort and love put into it. “It doesn’t matter how much money you spend on the flowers, because they’ll die if you don’t care for and love them. That applies to everything else. Because talent and money don’t mean anything in the end.” It was such a corny quote and he had forgotten all about it. But there was truth in the things that his mother said. “O…Of course Mom said that. I mean… yeah… I’m so sorry.”

Kaworu’s face when he opened his awfully wrapped thing was enough to put a small smile on Nate’s face as well. The effort pays off. For the first time in what seemed like an eternity, the former diver finally felt like that statement was true. The tears clung to the corners of eyes. This was the closest thing to a familial moment that he had gotten in Hope’s Peak Academy. All the warmth of Unova’s holidays when he and his family had gotten together, he felt it again. His walls collapsed and he embraced the self he was before everything started happening; before nightmares and horrible people became the sole aspects of his life.

"It’s not that great and you can’t use it. I… don’t know anything about music so it’s probably really inaccurate. If you don’t like it, you can just throw it out." However, Kaworu simply put it back in the box and stood, his words only made Nate happier. The other students told him that he had to find his own happiness before he could help others with theirs, but his happiness came from seeing others being happy. He wanted to stay enveloped in emotions that he could comprehend and understand. So, for once, he refrained from slapping his boyfriend in the face or shying away from affection that exposed him. Shifting his eyes down, he awkwardly shifted around throughout the kiss, not really knowing how to respond or what to do.

"Thanks… Thanks for not hating it. I was so scared. There’s so much wrong with it. If I had given something similar to Alois, he would’ve just thrown it on the ground and laughed at how pathetic it was." There were people who could make so much better, but he didn’t want to think of that. Instead, he awkwardly reached out and gripped Kaworu’s hand, not sure what to do at this point. Everything that he did seemed so systematic, like it was just expected. But he didn’t know and was scared of messing up and ruining everything. "… I don’t understand why you put up with this. I’m not a good person. Everyone knows so. I just…. I thought I needed to make up for it somehow but I never knew when to give you it. I…. I mean…. I was so scared so I just hid it." Ugh. He was so weak. The tears still ran even when he forced himself to plaster a smile on. "Merry… This holiday." Reaching up to touch the perfect face before him, he lost confidence and stopped halfway through, bringing his hand back to his chest and walking past the other boy to sit on the bed. Happiness was a sluggish feeling. Stress melted off and made him exhausted. As to emulate that, the former diver yawned and fell backwards onto the comforter.

"It's impossible not to feel anything, Nate. You need emotions. Truly, Lilins are lucky for them. Most creatures do not posses such complexities." His fingers crawled over to the mesh of brown before them, nesting themselves in the locks. "I believe that the risk is well worth the outcome. Happiness is necessary for functionality, yes? And it is not necessarily that you can not just embrace the emotion for a long moment, it just seems that you surround yourself with others aiming to displease you."  He leaned over the other, his locks of silver falling beside his cheeks. "We should do our best to avoid such troublesome students."

Nate dug through his pile of things in the corner of Kaworu’s dorm, looking for the object that he had made just about a week before they all got whisked away to this wintery wasteland. There wasn’t much to sort through and Nate’s face immediately fell at the state of the small box. He had tried wrapping it, but he didn’t know with what or how. Mom had always done that job and there wasn’t anything super amazing to use. So, he had decided that it would be “cute” or something to use flower petals as wrapping paper stuck on with glue. Most of those had fallen off at this point, the ones that remained were crumpled, dry and hideous; completely void of any beauty at all. On top of that, the box had been crushed, but he was so worried that he wouldn’t be able to re-wrap it that he didn’t check on the state of the contents within it.

In a way, he just didn’t want to know.

When Kaworu approached him with some sort of canvas, he moved the little wrecked creation to behind his back, hoping that Kaworu would never notice and he could just throw his stupid failure away. From the one time that he looked up, Nate could see the expert artistic ability that must have painstakingly perfected before him. He felt awful and not worth anything in that moment. Kaworu didn’t even know what his mother had looked like, but had somehow created her spitting image in art. The amount of actual talent put into something that could be classified as a masterpiece.

He halfheartedly accepted, refusing to look Kaworu in the eye for the entirety of the process while he gently set the painting down to lean against the bed. It forced him to set down his own present and, thrusting it forward, decided that it was too late to hold back.

"It sucks so I’m sorry."

He had spent so long working to craft the contents of that interestingly wrapped box. It contained within it a carefully constructed violin; miniature and made entirely of sticks, putty and rose petals that he had found in the garden. It took about a solid month to complete, but Nate didn’t know the first thing about music. He couldn’t sing or play any instruments and didn’t know how to read music at all. His only model was a violin within the music room and he didn’t understand the significance of anything on it.

His creation was very flawed to begin with. Handing it off was the scariest and most exposing thing he had experienced in a while. He was being entirely truthful in personality and nature to both himself and Kaworu, and that set him up for excruciating pain in the long run.

His gaze drifted towards the box, his hands steadily settling themselves to its sides as he pulled it back into his own chest. Silence. All Kaworu could do was stare in silence at the creation he held.  Before cracking a wide, exuberant smile. There it was, right before him. His very first gift. The first time he had ever received an item designated only for him with the intention of bringing onto the angel happiness. That overwhelming warmth he had experienced within him when he had first kissed Nate was present once more. His fingers ran through the decaying petals, awing at their paradoxical vibrant yet withering state. "It's breathtaking..." He whispered, his wide smile still planted on his face. "Just the packaging is alluring enough. I'm not sure how I'll manage to contain myself with the contents." He breathed. Despite his words, he was overwhelming curious about what lie inside his gift. He slipped a pale hand below the structure, the other pinching the lid and slowly lifting it to reveal what was inside. It was as if a ray of light erupted from within that package. There might as well have been birds fluttering out and signing triumphant melodies. At least, that was what Kaworu was experiencing at the mere sight of the violin replica inside. He couldn't even speak, he was too mystified. Instead, he stepped over to the bed, slipping the box atop it so that he could lift the gift into his hands. He held it tenderly, as if it were a child. It was effervescent, due to the rose petals he presumed. His fingers danced across the course wood in glee. He just couldn't believe it, his ultimate bliss evident upon his face. "...I'm so lucky." He muttered. "It's so beautiful, and it belongs solely to me. To think that I would be worthy of such a creation, I must be dreaming."

He took several more moments to awe at the replica before carefully setting it back inside the box. He took a large step towards Nate, caressing his face in his hands and gazing down at him with a loving expression. "When I imagine the sight of your perfect hands constructing the my piece, I am brought into a state of eternal glee. Thank you for bestowing onto me the purest of happiness."
