THE ODYSSEY
very interesting, cool, unique, grounded take on Odysseus's tale. I feel like it portrays all of the events in a way that feels more realistic than any other telling of this story. like when you think of a witch polymorphing soldiers into pigs you might just imagine her waving a wand or pointing her fingers at them and poof they're pigs. but in this movie you get to (unfortunately) see her physically force their bodies to assume the shape of a pig. I looked away for most of this scene. it was highly disturbing.
I was locked tf in from frame one. this movie is so darn pretty. the lighting and colors on film just look so stunning. first time watching a movie on 70mm film and it was just lovely. the sound design had me physically reacting to some of the notes even when I knew it was coming. I felt that shit in my soul.
great movie. great choice for my first IMAX film. can't wait to rewatch it on my projector. ββββ.β
