i don't intend for this post to be only seen as mean towards people who do this (who happen to be mostly teens, btw). but it's not that hard to realize that those comments are completely focused on an artist's physical look rather than their art. mitski's music and art is obviously something very deep and intimate for her, and since the beginning she's been singing about her experiences as an asian-american singer and woman. i don't think it's fair for her to only be seen as an 'indie sad singer' or for you guys to make you her 'mommy'. some people obviously don't respect her and neither take her art serious and it's sooo. sad, so lame. it's just an endless cycle of performing likes and interests just because they're trending on tiktok. btw the whole strawberry cow, frog, whatever cottagecore uwu animal was fucking sucked.
