She'd missed that smile, oddly. There weren't many people Kit ever actively missed, not to mention things those people did as most of them seemed to just royally fuck her off most of the time. But Lenny was different. He was funny, cool, shambolic and kind of.....a mess. But in an apathetic, chic way.
He made her laugh and she did not spend enough time doing that for real.
Right now though, when he told her she wasn't going to like what he had to tell her, she did not feel like laughing.
"You didn't get the money, did you? For fuck's sake Lenny!".
Lenny was taken aback but Kit’s assumption, leaning into the cushions of his seat. Thankfully they were pretty much shielded from everyone else around them, so they didn’t really have to worry about anyone listening in on them.
His hands moved up defensively. “Hey! Calm down. I didn’t say anything about the money. I got it!” Though he wasn’t stupid enough to bring it to this bar. “The bad news are, that people are asking about you. There are some shady guys in the area searching for you.”
