One of the great satisfactions of doing #Milkfist has been seeing our contributors continue to chase and realize their dreams. Especially satisfying, as well, is seeing them produce such remarkable work. Milkfist Issue Two contributor Mila Jaroniec (@deadbeatsouls) is no exception. Her debut novel "Plastic Vodka Bottle Sleepover" came out a couple months ago from Split Lip Press (@splitlippress) and it is a powerful, mature, and stirring read in the tradition of Joan Didion and Irvine Welsh but with a distinctly au courant sensibility. The prose is refined and the story heavy-hearted, narrated by a voice both unique and convincing, and the subject matter is dark and real in a way that only the most honest fiction can be. We will open up to all submissions (art, nonfiction, poetry, and prose) for Issue Three sometime mid-2017. Check back for updates.

We are now closed to poetry submissions and will respond to all submissions within the next 1-2 weeks. We are still considering art and nonfiction submissions, but time is running out.

After much deliberation, the Milkfist team has opted to follow an annual publication schedule. While at first we were hesitant to commit to a strict calendar, we ultimately decided that it would make more sense to honor a consistent timetable for release. We are now filled and closed to poetry submissions for our debut issue. Nonfiction and art submissions will still be considered, but the window is closing fast.

We are now officially closed to fiction submissions for Issue #1. All fiction sent to us from this point on will be returned unread. We are still open, however, to poetry, nonfiction, and art submissions, but the window for those is closing fast, as well. Fist yeah!
