Notes from Markov Chains
Non-sponsored review:
āØWHSmiths 24 colour brush pens⨠āØPaper used for swatches⨠Silvine Luxpad
āØPackagingāØ
The pens look very similar to Tombow dual brush pens but are slightly shorter and lighter in weight. The pen body is a more glossy black than Tombow but still easy to grip. The colours on the caps seem fairly accurate.
āØBrush tipāØ
The tips looks like the same material as Tombow's but a tiny bit shorter. Most are very bouncy and have a good range of thicknesses. My darkest green and grey were a bit softer than the rest but I can get used to it. You can press harder at the top of strokes to achieve an ombre effect which I love.
āØColoursāØ
It's a bit of a strange mix but covers a decent range. Green no.3 is almost a highlighter and pink no.2 is very pale. Lime, purple 3 and yellow 2 are my favourites. The black is not vary black but it's easy to buy one from another brand.
Some are a good enough match to Mildliners that I'll use these brush pens for titles in my notes.
Overall, I think they're a good set for anyone wanting to try brush lettering as the tips are easy to handle. They're also very good value of you buy them on sale. But it won't replace the infamous Tombow's for colour range.
Thanks for reading, I'll keep testing them and give you guys some updates ā¤ļø

August monthly spread
Hi, Iām currently a Chemistry undergrad and I was wondering if you found taking pretty notes (or making them after lecture) is a helpful study tool or for organizing your thoughts on the topic. Thanks!
Yes, definitely if I have the time I'll do it. It replaces just reading lecture notes. My neat version is extremely condensed (even thou well spaced on the page) and any comments on the definitions, examples or theorems are in my own words and written after I completely understand them. Then when I do questions, which my most effective revision, I'll refer to my neat notes or flashcards for hints.
If I don't have time. I'll summerise paragraphs from lecture note onto post it's and stick those on top of the notes. So in future I just read the short version

Q: Do you rewrite your notes? š¤ First 5 people to answer in the comments get spammed with likes and comments. . A: Yes I try to but it can be difficult to keep up with during term. I tend to like having finer divisions of subsections than my lecturers. I also prefer notes grouped by topic rather than lecture number. Plus, rewriting proofs in my own words really helps me to understand and learn them.
