“Think of it as a favor I’m doing for you and Laela. I’ve had years to get used to you, and I wouldn’t want you to overwhelm her and scare her off,” she teased in return, smiling warmly. In all honesty, she was just happy to see the smile on his face when he talked about the princess. Any worry or skepticism she felt on his behalf, she kept to herself, these things had a way of working themselves out, even if Laela’s position would make things difficult. She’d found herself thinking about that more and more lately, the possibility of what would happen in the future between a pirate and a royal who found themselves romantically entangled… she couldn’t quite put her finger on why. She giggled as Matt slowed down their dance, bumping into other confused people on the dance floor. Katla didn’t care, she was having fun, and spending time with Matt brought out the fun and mischief inside of her, and she enjoyed it too much to want to put a stop to it. “That’s not a bad way to start the year,” she pointed out. “I think I might try to start talking to my family more, it’s been a long time, and I miss them, even if it’s difficult to do.” She let out a cackle, “I don’t think so but I do still think you should absolutely do it.”

“Such a pal. Now, is this favor more for Laela or me?” He asked with a light chuckle, a hand moved back and forth as he tossed out the choices. “Or, is this more for you because you can’t help hanging around me?” A pause then, “Hmmmmmmm?” Jesus Christ, he’s an idiot that’ll always want his ego stroked. The dance they shared was sloppy and silly, not at all how most should be dancing normally but with a few dramatic spins and dips it was hard to not keep with it and laugh along with her. But after a bit they fell into conversation and the dancing settled more into the serious side of it. “Is that something you feel you’re ready for?” He questioned, from a place of concern and not to put doubt in her idea. He wants to reach out to his own family and try to regain what they’ve lost due to him abandoning them and then faking his death to protect them. It’s trickier than popping up with a text or phone call. “I’ll mention the idea to Laes and see what she think. Thouuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh I have a feeling she’ll tell me fuck no and hide the clippers.”

Sure, it can be a lot like talking to a toddler when it comes to him about certain things, since Matt actually does know how to exercise patience and be serious when necessary. But whey be serious when he’s with her? They joke around and she rips on him at times, which he doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he enjoys when she’s playful right back at him. And…fiiiiiiiiine, there will be a bit of a struggle but when she looks like that then how can he behave?? “We won’t. I know you’re not into doing anything in public, not unless people aren’t watching us, but I guess my curiosity is getting the best of me. Mainly to see how you handle just watching people doing things.” His hands went up her arms, not sure how she makes her skin so soft and even from here he can smell how incredible her perfume is. “It’s not simple at all. In fact I’m certain you’ll turn heads with how you look the perfect vision.” He then did something unexpected and took one of her hands and gave the top of it a sweet kiss. “That black dress can be whenever we have one of our roleplay nights where we pretend to be Gomez and Tish.” he said in a hopeful tone. “Lets get going before I change my mind and we stick around here for the rest of the night.”

The Italian waited for him to protest, maybe throw her a pout or two as he whined and pleaded for her to give him the surprise that she was keeping to herself. A second or two ticked by, then another few more without him saying anything about it at all. Wow, he truly did deserve to be spoiled by her later that night - but he didn’t need to know that just yet. “Public automatically equals people so… No. I am not exactly comfortable with that.” She told him honestly. There were just some things that the principessa could not overcome, no matter what she felt for him. There were goosebumps running up and down her arms where his hands had touched, a shiver ran down her spine and cheeks pink for reasons she could barely understand. But he never stopped making her feel beautiful no matter what she was dressed in; something she was more grateful than she ever admitted before. “I still think you’re biased. I hope you know that.” A giggle escaped her lips and she shook her head. “I can tell you really like what I chose for our Halloween costume.”  

Casually she strode to the door and turned around with one hand propped on her hip, grinning from ear to ear at her boyfriend. “If I wasn’t already all dressed up and put on my heels, I might take you up on that offer. But now I am starving for party food, so let’s go!” She stretched a hand out for him to take so they could leave. At least for as long as her legs would allow her to stay out for the night until they feel like her feet were on fire.

“Pazienza,” She repeated it back to him as if doing so would instill the trait into the man. “I guess you’ll have to learn. Or else you won’t get the best kind of things.” But like he said, they both knew very well, this was something he would most definitely struggle with. Especially where she was concerned. A smile was on her face, cheeks slightly pink with a blush when she took his offered hand and stood up, bringing their bodies so close that she could almost feel his warmth brush across her satin clad body. That felt sensual. Too sensual. “As long as we aren’t trying anything there…” Her voice was soft because she was not exactly looking forward to discover what goes on in the Dungeons. She has stayed away from that place for a reason. But to keep her boyfriend happy and excited, she thought why not just go there for the after-party for a little while. Considering everything that he’s done for her already, doing this seemed the least of what Laela could do as a girlfriend. “You don’t think this is too simple?” She asked to make sure. “I could always wear the black dress that you liked.”

       𝐍𝐈𝐊𝐊𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐓 quite amusing on how invested he seems to get closer of her, since he’s closer to Vasilia. ❛ I’ll most likely be around. I always spend my holidays with Lilith. ❜ Sometimes, when Nikki it is not around Lili during certain holidays, due to busy schedule with diplomatic things. Nonetheless, she was grateful that Matt didn’t open his big mouth to Lili and spilling the beans that she was hiding from Lili. ❛ No. He’s Papa favorite. Sometimes, I wonder if my Papa loves him more than me. ❜ She grumbled. ❛ I hope the things with your girl, are doing great. ❜ She meant it. Laela seems a sweet princess, she knew her but not too well, and Matt she was forced to meet because of Lili. Even though she feigning despising him, she wished nothing but happiness for him too. He was a sweet guy deep down of his ‘asshole’ layers. Nikki didn’t mention Laela’s name because she doesn’t know into what point people knew about the pair. As being a royal herself, she knew people like her needs to keep a lot of secrets.

Walter Peck from Ghostbusters. When I was a kid I used to HATE the guy! I thought he was the biggest asshole for trying to shut down GB HQ but when I got older I realized the dude’s just doing his job and trying to protect people. He grew on me since then but I do love the zings he gets from Venkman.

     𝐍𝐈𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐀 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐂 eye-roll, at hearing the familiar voice ringing her ears, and she turned to Matt. ❛ Yes, Matthew, how can I help you? ❜ Watching him approaching her, a tad disgusted by his sweat, she gave a step backward. ❛ Lilith is July, 10th. Mine is on Halloween. Everybody forgets my birthday anyway. ❜ She points out, although Lili never forgets her birthday, her own sister doesn’t count. The ironic part of it, Nikki is a person who loves parties but hates her own birthday. ❛ So, about that thing, I told you about at the party… You didn’t tell, Lili, did you? ❜ She points to the fading injury on her left brow on her face, when she told him it was her fiance who did it. Matt was the first person, she actually had the courage to admit it out and loud.

Katla laughed, wrapping her arms around Matt in a warm hug. It was a comforting sensation, and she felt a surprising wave of emotion, she felt unbelievably lucky to have someone like Matt in her life, not everyone got that kind of friendship in life, and she had. “Well then, may I have this dance?” She smiled, “Laela should know by now she has to share you at least a little bit with me, that’s just part of what she signed up for.” Katla extended her hand for him to take before leading him onto the dance floor. The last week or so had been rough, and Katla hadn’t been much of a joy to be around, and she wanted to show Matt just how much it meant to her that he’d been there for her, it was the first time since it had happened that she’d actually had anyone there for her, who actually knew what was going on.

“You sure you want to share me part of that time, Kats? I mean, this is me we’re talking about. I can be a massive ass handful, plus some. Even I don’t want to share me with me.” He teased, giving her a hard time. Even though he and Laela are dating, and his self proclaimed neediness makes it where he wants to spend as much free time with her as possible, he knows it’s important to not allow himself to get too wrapped up to the point they never hang out with their friends. That’s never healthy. Matt started to dance with Katla, purposely doing a slow dance to a fast number, which confused the people around them but hell, why not do something different? “You got any resolutions lined up for the new year? I haven’t even started to think of any of my own. Basically go in blind and hope things turn out decent.” Then he thought of something. “Maybe I’ll shave my head. Does that count as a resolution?”

if she laughed anymore, her sides would truly ache. “i wasn’t sure where you were going either but it was fun to watch.” aisha had no idea where he was going but either way, it caused her to laugh. “the coolest pirates are the ones in one piece, now if i was a pirate in that, i wouldn’t dream of leaving.” a girl could only wish she was able to be transported into her favorite managa. “y’know, i haven’t known you long but that sounds like it’d be perfect for you.” it really did from the way he presented himself and she could only agree. “i think you’d be nice to look at, so it’s a win-win for everyone.” she thought it over for a moment. “i say go for it, who’s gonna stop you? language is made up anyway.” he’d get a few raised brows but she didn’t think it’d really stop him. “i’ve never hung around but you do have to drive through it to get to some places.” aisha nodded her head a few times, “fair enough, fair enough. and i think it was just a normal glass of wine. i put it down to dance…i think i’d have to hide forever if i spilled someone on someone.” she shuddered just thinking about. “what about you? what was your poison for tonight?” 

“Now that’s what I tell everyone! It doesn’t matter what is said or whatever, it’s about having a good time. Sure, I still don’t have a fuck what I’m talking about or what I said before but who cares? It’s not like it was important to begin with.” Okay, he definitely had too much to drink because he was spouting nonsense and didn’t completely hear what she said due to the music and the struggle to focus through his drunken haze. “One piece? Like a bathing suit? I’ve always been more of a mankini kind of man.” He took a drink from his cup, forgetting it’s empty, and frowned at the fact nothing was there. His eyes shifted from the cup to her when she tossed a compliment his way. “I AM easy on the eyes, aren’t I? People come in for the sights, the tour with the dashing pirate who’ll talk and talk and talk about whatever shit pops into my head. It’s a perfect combo. “If it spilled that’s on the person that spilled it. Not you.” he said as he turned on his heels and turned again annnnnnd again until he finally spied the bar. “Lets get you another wine and my poison? Sticking to tried and true jack and coke. Nothing too fancy for me.” Matt said as he started to march in place until Aisha joined him. “How long you thinking about sticking around the island? We get people who come around and stay for awhile, almost like a second home.”

“I think the say goes something like this, ‘good things happen to those who wait’.” She teased him with a grin. “So you wait. Nonna used to say la pazienza è una virtù.” It was obvious to both of them exactly what she meant but would never admit such a thing out loud. At least not without turning bright red and require a lot of coaxing on his part. “I wouldn’t exactly call you annoying me, making fun of my Greek goddess costume as one of the ways to flirt with me. But I guess you could say that I was not exactly interested then.” The brunette shook her head in disbelief, eyes rolled when he so confidently proclaimed that she was crazy in love with him. Yes, she was in love with him, but not crazily. At least not yet anyway. The straps of her heels were not exactly the easiest to maneuver but she managed after a short struggle - not even realising that her boyfriend was watching her adoringly. When she straightened, she nervously combed her fingers through her brunette curls and pulled them all over her right shoulder. “I don’t think I want to know of what people are going to get up to in there.” She told him with a nervous chuckle. “But I guess we can go have a look around if you want to.” 

That’s an expression Matt’s familiar with, as it’s one his mom would throw at him whenever he got impatient. Why did good things only come to those who wait? He never understood that. Why can’t it come to those who are ready for it? There was another pull to throw the dramatically impatient card at her but he knew the longer he did this the longer they’d not get out of here. As much as he wanted to stay in and undress her he actually is excited for the night ahead. “You know when it comes to me panzienza is not exactly easy.” Matt went to where she was on the bed and held his hand out for Laela to take once her heels were on. Sure, there was a HUGE part of him which wanted to get on his hands and knees and kiss up her leg but.....later. “I convinced myself it was a love at first sight situation when it came to you but guess I’m wrong.” This was said with a playful laugh. “It can be a number of things. I haven’t been in there in a long time and I know if I ask if you want play around in there you’ll run away or explode from shyness. But it’s more to take in what people are doing, maybe give us some ideas of things to try out at some point whenever you’re feeling adventurous.” He’s well aware he’s far more experienced than she when it comes to sex, considering the number of people he’s been with. Matt’s also very aware of her worry when it comes to satisfying him, or that he’ll get bored with her. Which will never happen. “You look fantastically sexy, darling. I can’t wait to show you off tonight.”

There were countless forms of entertainment Rian had found to keep himself busy with on the island but of all of those available to him he had yet to visit the cinema properly. He’d heard from a few of the pirates that it was well known for the fact that it played rather– well, risqué was the best word Rian could think of– films in the evenings but from what he gathered they showed plenty of popular films both old and new otherwise. He’d always had a fondness for movies and like many of his hobbies it was something he could do as a fairly solitary thing; after some consideration he’d made the choice to head down to the cinema to scope out what they were playing that evening or what they might be showing for the rest of the week. He lingered in the front lobby for a long while– finally smiling warmly at a man he thought might be someone who worked there. “Anything they’re showing here this week that you’d really recommend seeing? I haven’t been to any cinema in ages and I have no idea what’s being released or what’s worth watching in general these days. Do you have recommendations?”

He’s been doing this gig for awhile now and out of all the jobs on the island Matt figured this might be the cushiest one. He got to watch movies, eat snacks and just kick back. It wasn’t all lazing about as he did have to step in and move along people who were too drunk and getting out of hand by ruining the ambiance or what have you when it comes to this place. Matt had stepped out of one of the rooms and had his face buried in his phone, scrolling through Facebook and catching up with what’s been going on since he last logged in over a month ago. Some random meme about The Witcher popped up and he was in the middle of a chuckle when someone approached him. “Ah,” he said as his phone tucked into his pocket. “my favorite subject. So you need some recs? Depends what kind of thing you’re after. You want an actual movie or something that’ll get your rocks off?” He didn’t know this guy but that doesn’t change the way he talks so openly about things. It’s no secret what they show here.

Katla beamed, she had a hard time doing anything different when she was side by side with her best friend. “A whole twenty-four hours? Well that’s just unacceptable. It’s far too long a period of time to be without one of my favorite people on this entire planet.” She scrunched up her nose as she grinned, “What does a girl have to do around here to get a little dance with her best friend?” She extended her hand towards Matt, “If Laela doesn’t mind me stealing you for a little while, of course.”

“That’s what I thought, too! I’ve got the shakes, Katla. They’re bad. At least a little bit of us time will get rid of those pesky withdrawal symptoms.” He took her hand and gave her a tug to come to him, giving his bestie a hug. He knows she had a sucky time not too far back with a certain anniversary and sure, time has past since then and they’ve celebrated a couple birthdays and Christmas, it doesn’t diminish his need to be a type of brother to her. “A girl has to just ask me to dance, is what. I don’t think Laes will mind too much. Gives her a break from my needy ass.” he didn’t mind admitting that about himself because it’s completely true. “So you gonna ask me or should I go and be a wallflower over there.” He cocked his thumb in some random direction behind him.”

“respectable.” and what was she doing with her life? nothing. “at least you’re not using a cane yet, not that i can see at least.” but if he managed to somehow have one hiding, it wouldn’t surprise her. at least he could keep a conversation rolling, she was fine but she wasn’t normally great at pushing them. “consider it considered, if you ever want a career change, go into hospitality, i think you’d fine as a people charmer.” if you knew her for a while, you’d be able to see when she blushed but thankfully, aisha was only person who noticed, glancing away for before looking back to him. “thank you and that’s true in a perfect world, an ideal world but not my world. code-switching is the key to success and then you can do whatever you want.” which had been extremely useful in college. “but it’s less about an accent and more about language in general. people are pretty understanding if you have an accent.” most, she smiled and went into another laugh. “well, if you’re passing notes to yourself, i’m going to assume you’re picking something up. and don’t try and give the carolinas our shine. let’s see…amish country, cedar point. you can only give in the great oh…the cleveland measure of art….we’re boring and at the same time, we have a lot going on.”

“Not a cane in sight but how do you not know if I’m using futuristic space-age technology to keep from relying on one, hmmmmm? My legs could be super bionic where I’m capable of leaping hundreds of feet in the air and land in a masterful superhero landing.” But after a few moments of this Matt called himself out and said,” Okay, MAYBE I don’t have those legs but, I...” he laughed. “I actually don’t know where the fuck I was going with that thought.” With a tilt of his head, and then another tilt, and a final one Matt wore an expression of ponderment, (that’s a word he created just now) and nodded. “Y’know. I’ve been wondering what kind of career I would be able to do if I decided to hang up my pirating ways. Hospitality isn’t one I considered. I could be a kind of tour guide to this place. That way everyone must initially pay attention to me. Which is the dream. “Does this mean I should create an accent of my own and see if people will be more accepting of me? I’m met with a lot of eyerolls and facepalms, which is incredibly rude!” He listened to what Aisha said and grinned, “You ever been to visit Amish Country? And there’s nothing  boring about a place that’s filled with it’s own history. You’ve got the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame there, don’t you? They wouldn’t pick some boring ass state for it.” When the music changed Matt peered down at his now empty glass before asking, “What you drinking tonight? Been chatting your ear off and just now noticed you’re drinkless.”
