His constant irritation toward the class he was summoned by remained present even in this new environment. However, it was clear that such a thing would not lessen the merriment he felt from his reunion with an old friend. An affectionate pat on the head was offered.

The hooded servant strode up alongside her, as he had done many times before in a different time and place. Pulling his hood off his head, he offered the young woman a smile in greeting.

Though this city will be dreadful in nature, there were perks. It was a bit peaceful, naturally all cities will have their part in crimes behind a dark alley but that was none of Marie’s business, after all, she doesn’t know if she’s in France or not. Naturally, she can’t just go up to people and be like, ‘bow down to me for I am the queen of your country’, no. She was in a revolution just for that. 

“Aaah, truly the generations these days can really make such tall buildings.” Marie gazed upon the streets as she lean across the railing. Where was she, you wonder? Oh, just simply standing upon on of the tallest building in Hive City. Do not copy the action she is doing, leaning against the railing on a very tall building is not a wise action. Leaning down more, Marie thought she saw a familiar face until she realize that she lean in too far. “Uh…”

He was brooding over this, when his instincts flared at a rapid approach of another. Gaze shifted rapidly from side to side, but he didn’t spot anyone. No, it was the descent of the small female form descending from the sky that caught him off guard, knocking him flat on his back, the woman laying atop of him. Winded, he took a look.at the offender.

“...It’s raining woman...”

He would be happy if that fall didn’t hurt so much. And if the presence of the other didn’t alert him almost immediately to the reality of whom had fallen atop of him. With a sigh, he moved out from under her, and while the voice he greeted her with was on the harsher side, a hand was offered to help her up.

Well, well, well.

It was a figure she would not readily forget, though some things had changed. A bit taller now with some muscle but she could spot him easily enough in the crowd. Legs spread as she as she readied her stance and grounded herself, the thick wooden spear she was given was now being held in one raised hand near her head.

Her aim was precise and she knew she wouldn’t miss. Feeling that the wind was on her side only meant it would glide that much more easily toward its destined target. With a satisfied smile the muscles in her arm flexed and propelled her hand and the spear forward–throwing it a healthy 60 yards in distance.

Let’s see how much Cuchulain remembered from his schooling. Consider it a pop quiz.

“ANSUZ!”

A burst of flame, extending from the tip of his staff, engulfed the approaching spear, burning it to cinders before it could make contact with him. Lowering the raised armed, he peered outward to the attacker from underneath the fur lining of his hood, bracing himself for a fight. Yet even as his gaze fell upon the supposed attacker, he grew calm, the tension of battle giving way to the merriment that would come with beholding a very old and close friend, to whom he would call out to.

       ”Oh?  Your words are so well-rehearsed, I almost think them true."  But everybody knows, almost doesn’t count.  "A shame you were not better at acting, knight.”

        The hatred which drips from her final word could nearly give away her identity — there are not many women who have as true an abhorrence of heroes as she, and even fewer still whose lives would qualify them to become an Eirei in the first place.  Yet, as always, her mask is forever the grandest clue towards her identity.

His words, arrogant and pointless as they are, were simply a means to distract her while his mind went to work, putting together the details to piece a full image of whom he was dealing with. The blindfold, the collar, the hatred toward men, especially men of heroic nature. She was something special alright. But then again, what did that mean to him? No, what he was seeking was an answer to the question of who was she. There were a few that came to mind but only one fit the bill...

"And the truth is clear. Seems you gave me a little too much to work with there. Ha, but you're mistaken, I'm not a knight. Not yet at least. That said, I do have a code that seems to beg for the odds to be a bit more even on this one, considering now that you've helped me gain your identity..."

Inori had little to care about, that was all.

"Didn't the scientists talk to you about this?"

He had figured everyone here went through the talk with the rulers of the city. Had she completely blanked out through it all, or was she not able to remember anything at all? It was concerning, to say the least. He didn't really have a reason to care about her, but he wasn't necessarily one to stand aside and not help one in need either.

"A spear…?"

The Arrancar’s attention was caught with the sight of the weapon, a sigh following the better glimpse of it with the closing of distance between them. Arms crossed themselves beneath her chest, eyebrows furrowing at the wooden weapon the other held. Was wood something the scientists had an unfortunate abundance of?

"I…don’t know of this Black Knight you speak of."

There was a pause, her inquiries shifting to the weapon that previously piqued her interest.

"That so? Well I suspect if you don't, you soon will. He's gonna be rather popular 'round these parts in a matter of days, I suspect. I suppose you could say I was one in my world, but at the same time I wasn't. Hard to explain."
