Back to the future.

I gave up pen [and pencil], eraser and sharpeners [sorry forgot to include the sharpener in the photo], nearly 20 years ago.

But here pencils - preferred because you can use an eraser - eraser and sharpeners are the tools of the writing trade.

And until yesterday I didn't realize that the alternative technology - typing characters onto a computer - was so easy to find and that it is free [thanks Google and Microsoft].

Which goes some way to explain why I have made so few entries on this blog... I who can barely write by hand in English have been writing Chinese characters by hand and with a pencil!
