"Yeah, because you sitting here crying your eyes out sure is for the best," he replied sarcastically, twirling a piece of her hair on his finger. He could tell that she was trying to be somewhat positive, but all it really sounded like was that she was putting herself down. He was quiet for a while, simply playing with K’s hair, before glancing down at her and muttering, "You deserve so much better."

K didn’t say anything in reply, simply giving a small sigh, letting Michael playing with her hair calm her down. As she calmed down she started to feel tired, probably because of all the crying she had been doing, and everything that had happened. “Yeah, I guess so.” She said with a soft sigh.

"I don't need you to just guess, I need you to know." Michael was sure that K was probably tired and she probably just wanted to sleep and try to forget, but he needed her to hear this. "You are a beautiful woman, K. You're kind-hearted, a great friend, and you're fun to be around. You're just an amazing person overall. A person like you deserves so much better than that asshole you were with. I know I shouldn't be saying this shit right after y'all broke up, but when I leave, I just need you to remember what I've said. Don't dwell on this, K. You'll only be torturing yourself if you do."

"Yes, Footlocker. But I'm goin' to get something for you, babe, I swear."

Michael let himself calm down some upon seeing K’s face, but he was still pretty upset at the way she was defending that sorry excuse of a man. He sighed softly, averting his gaze so he was looking at the wall. “Sorry,” he muttered, his fingers sliding through her hair again. “I’m just protective of my friends sometimes.”

"It’s alright." The feeling of him running her fingers through her hair was comforting, and soon enough she was resting her head on his chest once again. "Maybe it’s just for the best." She then finally says after a while. It definitely didn’t feel like it was for the best, but she was attempting to at least try and be positive.

I wonder why I never learned this about Einstein in school…oh wait, I do know why.

Yeah, I mean how could you “tarnish” the legacy of one of the world’s greatest physicists by linking him to the fight for racial equality, especially since he openly calls out racism as a “disease” of the white oppressor. Of course this isn’t a bigger part of his historical narrative.
