Arrival - Goldie

We only got one comic about what Goldie was like when he first arrived. From that page Goldie looked scared. Wether he was brought in from a different restaurant or built in the restaurant remains unclear to me. Freddy stated and I quote "Oh my. Rough ride over, huh? That's alright, we've been waiting for someone like you." Which to me implied that he was not originally from Fredbear's, or he was built somewhere else and then brought over.

From the get go, Goldie already had an uncertain state of self and was a nervous reck. Makes sense, considering that he had just recently arrived and doesn't know about where or possibly what he is.

On the other hand, whenever he was around children, he seemed confident, and cheerful, although he was also shown to be a little snappy towards children who misbehaved and were bothersome to other people (which is interesting to me considering what he is like later on).

From what little information we have from this era of his life, he is considerate and cares about others. He deeply enjoyed his job as a mascot and took it very seriously. He is was also shown to have a sweet soft sign that he reserved for Freddy, when children weren't around. But he also was also, already showing small signs of discontent, more so with himself, and would rely on Freddy for support.

One of those was that he cared deeply about what others think about him, and was hard on himself whenever something went wrong. Even saying "I always mess everything up." Goldie was shown to be self-conscious and blaming himself for mistakes, showing a small history of self-blame and self-hatred. Although he was reassured by Freddy whenever this happened.

This raised another problem that at the time didn't seem like an issue, but could have spiraled on later on. While he thought little of himself, he thought highly of Freddy. Freddy was the big brother he could rely on, Freddy was the only who could do no wrong, Freddy, the one who was always so self-assured. Freddy, the one that everyone loved.

Arrival - Freddy

Like with Goldie, we have little knowledge of what Freddy was like when Goldie first arrived, but we do have hints. In the same comic that showed Goldie's arrival, Freddy (unlike Goldie) seemed warm, but a tad cautious, not out of fear, but in order for Goldie to be comfortable and accustomed to his presence. Especially considering that it would've been his first day/night at the diner.

From the get go, we see that Freddy has a very warm, approachable presence, which makes sense because he is meant to entertain and protect children. So seeing someone who was not only younger but smaller looking, practically scared, he put on a friendly familial role. The role of an older brother.

Another thing to note, this most definitely must've been Freddy's first time seeing someone else like him. At last someone who he could always hang out with on a personal equal level in a way that he couldn't with the humans. Not because they disagreed but Freddy's entire life was confined to this pizzeria, his experiences limited to this pizzeria. Compared to humans, Freddy was unexperienced in a way that would of made it hard to fully understand each other on a personal level.

Now here was Goldie, an animatronic like him, a little brother in a way. Someone who Freddy could rely on to always be there, and someone who he treasured, that sweet little bear, who looked up to him.

Downfall - Goldie

What do you do when the one job you have is slowly taken away from you? By the one person that you look up to, who promised to always be there for you, who you relied on for emotional support whenever trouble occurred.

As mentioned before Goldie already had some self-hatred problems, feeling that he just always messed everything up. The only thing that he felt truly confident and content in, was being a mascot for children.

That was the entire reason for his existence after all, why he was planned and taken to Fredbear's Family Diner. Preforming for children, the one thing that he was good at, the one thing that he could never mess up at. Now for some reason, the very kids that he performed for, the ones he was created for, weren't paying as much attention to him compared to before.

Maybe it was because his eyes and teeth were scary, maybe you weren't friendly enough?

Slowly, bit by bit, those children that used to come to him, were now all going towards Freddy. His only good thing in life, not good enough for those children he was made for. Without the children who was he? Just the mascot left in Freddy's shadow.

The pedestal he once praised and admired Freddy for was now the very thing that rendered him useless.

Like I mentioned before I think he might've not originated from Fredbear's, once the popularity for Freddy increased he probably wondered why he was brought over when the restaurant clearly seemed to be doing well enough with Freddy alone.

The big brother he looked up too, didn't need him, he seemed well enough with the kids. He was always better than him anyways, and now here he was, overshadowing him even with the kids.

Since Goldie and Freddy during the time were the only animatonics around, there wasn't anyone else that Goldie could really go to talk about his issues. All that was left for Goldie was to stay silent and ruminated.

Of course this wasn't something that occurred suddenly, it was a process that happened over the span of weeks, months even. He stayed more quiet, wasn't interested in hanging out with Freddy anymore, more irritated by his presences, yet no matter how much he tried, everywhere he looked he just saw Freddy.

There was less merch of him, less posters; seems like even Henry and the other humans noticed, his lack of popularity with the children. With the decrease of Goldie merch and the lack of parties that used him.

Freddy tried to talk to him, but what would he say? That he felt useless, he would never understand. He couldn't do that to him.

This is more so speculation but it could go either way.

1. He saw that Freddy was preforming again, he looked so happy, how dare him, taking away his spotlight that he was promised. So he pushed Freddy off.

2. He saw that Freddy was preforming again, he looked so happy, oh and there were some kids who were looking for him. Maybe he could perform today. So he walked forward, tripping and pushed Freddy in the process.

Either way, the damage was done, and now you two are bickering, Freddy is looking at you scared, angry. Clearly, whatever you two had going on before was fading away.

Downfall - Freddy

Freddy on the other hand, sure he enjoyed his fame and popularity, but he cared for Goldie primarily. Especially since they were the only two of their kind. He enjoyed their time together, and he thought that Goldie did as well.

Something was wrong though. He smiled less, lying about his emotions, isolating himself more often.

You try to talk to him try to talk, but nothing is working. He just looks more miserable, you hear him crying every time you pass his stage. His eyes losing their luster.

You try to tell yourself that maybe it will resolve itself, maybe he needs some space. Yet still, you soon find that you spend less time together. You find yourself more in the manager office, talking about business stuff, you see more posters of you everywhere, more kids hanging around you. You look up to see Goldie staring at you like scum.

You try talking to management to try to figure out a solution, nothing came to be.

One day, just the same as any other you're preforming on stage and the next a set of hands touch your back and now your on the floor. You look up confused, and it's you brother looking back at you, apologizing.

You once again try once more to talk, and you bicker. What is wrong with your brother??? Where has that sweet little bear gone, the one that looked at him with those adoring eyes? Who came crying to you because there was a spider on his stage? Who was this?!

Bite - Goldie

It just another day. An exciting one at that, you were finally choose for a birthday party. Sure you've been bitter recently about the lack of popularity and now with that stage incident, you and Freddy are now arguing. But hey, you finally have the stage to yourself for once.

You hear commotion. Was that crying? A group of teenagers, dragging the birthday boy, your birthday boy, closer. Something about you giving the child a big kiss.

The next thing you know, the child was shoved in your mouth, you try to pull him out but-

It's just another day. Things have been rough lately, you and Goldie have been straying, but at least someone asked for him for a birthday. That's what he wanted, popularity, like him?

Wait was that crying? Why is there crying? You look over, there's a child in Goldie's mouth- There's a child in Goldie's Mouth-!
