Meeting the new girl.

I hear the door open and I look up hoping its Mulan, but its a girl I’ve never seen before. “Um Hello.” I say shakily. How did she get the key to my dorm? I look behind her and notice Merida is with her. So that’s how she got in.

I step in and get a look at who I’m assuming is Aurora, and boy was she a sight! She was so beautiful, I almost thought she was someone famous, but then reeled out that possibility when I ran through famous names in my head. Aurora didnt ring a bell, but then again, maybe she was a model or something. I just stood awkwardly in the doorway until Merida shoved us in. I nervously looked around, tucking a stray hair behind my ear and feeling my pocket for a piece of chocolate to nibble on.

I notice Aurora and Anna's silence. "Aurora I want you to meet Anna. She is new her." I nudge Anna forward to introduce herself. Maybe I should have text Aurora ahead of time. Aurora smiles and extend her hand to Anna. Oh good she doesn't seem upset.

Anna does a double take when I asks of she wants to meet Aurora. She tells me yes and then asks if it ok. “It’s fine.” I smile. “You to would actually get along great.” I say confidently. ‘They would make fast friends.’ “We can go after lunch.”

Merida continues to walk and I follow behind her, and soon we enter a large cafeteria with many students laughing and eating at tables. Merida leads me to a certain spot, and we sit down. i look around, taking in all the commotion, it being louder than I expected. She tugs on my sleeve, and I realize she had been saying my name. “What?” I ask.

We finally enter the dining hall and it is packed. I manage to find an empty seat and I lead Anna to it. We sit and I try to see what they are going to serve for lunch. “Anna, what did you wanna get?” I ask but she doesn’t seem to hear me. I tug on her sleeve until she responds. “What did you want to order?” I ask again.

soon we get our food and before I know it I’m having my first official meal at the school! It was so nice getting to eat with Merida and actually getting to know her, I began to feel more comfortable with her, and soon we were both finished. She stands, and I copy her movements. “Are we going to meet Aurora now?” I ask a bit too eagerly. She chuckles.

We finish our meal and Anna asks if its time to meet Aurora. "Yeah you get to meet her now." I smile and grab our trays to discard them. "Lets go." I grab her hand as we leave the dining area.

Anna breaks free from my grasp. I keep walking until she asks me what that was about. ‘Oh great. Do I really want her to be involved in this.’ “It’s complicated.” I say not turning to face her. ‘I need to apologize before she hates me.’ I decide to turn and look at her. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have dragged you into that. I swear I will never do it again.” I apologize to her hoping she will forgive me.

If you don’t mind me asking, I know you said it’s complicated and I get that but I’m just wondering who she actually is? Like i’m guessing a student? But I could be wrong…” I was rambling again, so I trailed off and glanced at Merida.

Anna accept my apology and I thank my lucky stars she does. We walk side by side and chat and she brings up Aurora. Merida you at least have to let her meet Aurora. It’s the least you can do. "Aurora is Mulan’s roommate." I tell her. "Did you want to meet her?" I ask hoping it will add some closure to the awkward situation,

I didn’t know they knew each other, but then again Mulan just said she knew a lot of people here… I smile and greet Merida. “Yeah we actually bumped into each other just now! I seem to have a knack for running into people.” I laugh and wait for the other two to say something or join in with my laughter, but then I just notice both girls staring intently at one another, not saying a word. My giggles slowly subside awkwardly and I look at both of them with confusion and worry. Did I miss something?

I stare at Merida, a bit annoyed with her trying to keep me in the hallways longer. “Hey…” I mutter. I didn’t want Merida, or even Aurora, to start following me. Mostly, because I probably would get into more trouble and bound to see danger along the way. My father was a powerful man, with powerful people around him. Especially, if they had gotten me out of jail so easily and had murder charged dropped. “I, uhm, have to go anyways, soo—”

She begins to walk and I somewhat skip behind her, whistling and looking around, trying to get a feel for this confusing campus. Before long, we stop outside a classroom, and I peek inside the door. The class has already started. I panic and turn to Merida. “What do I do! The class is already starting! That would be so awkward to just walk in! Is that what i’m supposed to do? Should I just not go in? Maybe just miss the first lesson? Would that be better?” I frantically jabber. I have to do well at this school, or else my dreams back home could be ruined, and this was just not turning into the ideal first day to make that goal seem reachable.

When we arrive Anna notices her class has already started. She begins to panic and I try to calm her. I think I'm going to have my hands full with this one. I smile before placing my hand on her shoulder. "Anna calm down. Just go in and tell the professor that you got lost and that it is your first day. I promise they will not get upset."
