taste is art.
I'm a person who has spent more time consume the works of other artists and creators - music, art, writing, documentaries, etc. - than I have spent actually creating art. I always feel like I should create my own art, but always end up disappointed by what I create or can't even bring myself to put the pen to the paper. Sometimes I wonder what if my taste for creative work itself is a form of art and expression? I may not be creating something but I'm finding an expression of my own thoughts and feelings through the works of others. My taste is completely my own. There are so many people engaging in creativity by dealing with others works - editors, curators, critics, biographers, etc. Maybe a part of my creativity lies in that - finding my expression through the works of others. Maybe my taste is my art?
I also feel like a similar thing happens when I am viewing fanart. I feel like I should create my own fanart but I give up halfway most of the time. At the same time, I find joy and relief seeing the fanarts and fanfics of other people. As though someone managed to express the things which I wanted to before they even came to my mind. It's nice and I'll always love seeing the art of others. But maybe it's time to start creating my own.

A blurred sense of time.
I am an person who wants to draw but can't bring myself to draw. I procrastinate a lot but when i actually do draw, I hate my drawings and give up altogether.
Any advice helps really.

Pretty much how I feel right now.
Personal Diary?
I think I'm going to start using my tumblr account as this public outlet for my thoughts and stuff - at least for the next two months when I can't really do much. Maybe I'll just share stuff.

"Nature unfolds her treasure at the first ray of sunrise." - Kishore Bansal

"I donβt usually go to photograph; I photograph where Iβm going."
This is a quote by Meryl Meisler, an incredible American street photographer who in the 1970s frequented and photographed the infamous New York Discos, and gained immense fame and recognition for her work, receiving awards, grant, fellowships, residencies and much more. (You could learn more about her from her website - https://www.merylmeisler.com/)
This is quote that strongly resonated with me and it's something that I'd love to do as a hobbyist photographer. Photography can be a mode documentation, expression, a way of looking at the world around you and so much more. Meisler's sentiment is one shared by many other photographers too:
"If you don't have a camera on you at all times...you are just someone who saw some stuff and told people about what you saw." - Matt Stuart, in his (also incredible) book Think Like a Street Photographer.
I learnt about Meryl Meisler from a recent post of Andy Adams' blog FlakPhoto on Substack. (You can read it here - https://www.flakphoto.news/)
If you're a photography lover and love learning about and looking at the work of different photographers - you should considering subscribing to the newsletter or simply giving the blog a read.

Thank you for reading! I really hope to you again.
