The Little Prick

As promised, a little comic. I actually have this one printed with the hopes of selling (ya right!) but on the plus side It has gotten me much more interested in a larger project. Keep your eyes out for the next one.

"I Love 9 to 5"  OH!! I have not fallen off the face of the earth!! I just quit making art for a while. Been back at it and trying to get more made again. Still working with diabetes but kind of ran out of things to say about it for a while (although it still sneaks into my work here and there.)

I'm not sure how I am going to be ok. I'm working full time as a temp, it is great, it will get me the work experience I need to get a full time position. But I have no insurance now going on a year, I need to see my doctor and now that I am working full time I can't, and I can't ask for the time off for fear of acquiring bad marks. I'm so anxious I'm not sure what to do.

Sometimes it is hard to tell my low blood pressure from a low blood sugar!

This was a few years ago, I was young, in college, very depressed and busy. I had missed my other appointment (I came in a day later because I had written down the wrong day) and had missed another one because I was scheduled on finals week to go in. When I called in to change that appointment I was told that I needed to comply with the plan of care and that if I missed that date I would have to wait 3 months for my next appointment. I tried to make it, but failed. So I got dropped. I ended up driving 102 miles to go to a doctor to get my insulin! Intense.

An inhaled insulin is EXCITING NEWS for fucks sake. Get with it mannkind!

RE: Fixed formatting problems in this one (I was new to tumblr when I 1st posted it & it looked horrible) I think it is important enough to get a redo.

I had an interaction with The Bystander Effect- this is an interesting social psychological issue. I was dressed as an "art" in the "business dressed" side of the building when I passed out. Groups of people literally walked passed me for 5 minutes. Eventually a person I had never met before saw me and stopped, recognized my symptoms and helped me. This happens quite a lot, I am sure I have done it as well. After taking some classes on first aid and care I have gotten much better at not walking away.
