They really should have had a student counselorđ
enemies to lover where they actually are genuinely enemies who try to kill each other at firstđŤśđť
a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?
come on
Reblog if you're a writer who doesn't use AI.
People who donât know how to give a spoiler warning really are a special kind of unawaređ
Itâs possible even with comments to say âSPOILER! DONâT READ IF YOU DONâT WANT SPOILERSâ
The ending of The Poppy Wars has completely been ruined for me by one sentence of a preview comment on Pinterest! I didnât even open the comments. I avoid it, but it didnât help this time and idk if I even want to finish it now, because Iâm not invested anymore since I know the outcome!đ
Please remember to be courteous to other readers. Just because YOU read/finished something doesnât mean others have. A fanart just popped up randomly on my feed and I wanted to save it and the preview comment spoiled the whole ending. If the commenter would have put a spoiler warning on their comment thatâs what the preview would have showed and the ending wouldnât be ruined for me and others.

Friendly reminder that it doesnât matter how many books you read in a year. If itâs 5 or 50, it literally doesnât matter. All that matters is that you read at all.
Also remember quality over quantity. Some people are too obsessed with the amount of books they read that they donât even absorb or comprehend what theyâre reading. Donât let people shame you for only reading a handful of books. The important thing is if you read, absorbed, and enjoyed those books.đ
5 books you can remember is better than 100 you can barely recall.
Review of âA Duel with the Vampire Lordâ
I really loved this book. It was so refreshing to read after I just finished a book of similar length last week that honestly had me wanting to throw my brain away due to itâs lack of development and depth overall and its long drawn out miscommunication trope.
Elise Kova is proof that authors can write amazing 500 odd page books, packing in development and depth without is feeling rushed or lacking.
The plot moved at a consistent pace. I felt drawn into the story like I was there theorizing with the characters trying to uncover the truth. I actually cried towards the end. Not many books evoke that emotion in me.
The characters werenât complex, but they werenât boring or lacking in personality. Ventos having an actual reason for his behavior/attitude is also refreshing. Instead of just being a âbruteâ he was given a reason which I really liked. I was able to feel for him.
The relationship between FMC and MMC was solid. I love when the enemies to lovers are actually enemies to lovers who try/want to kill each other at first. Their relationship was paced pretty well for the length and given the plot. It wasnât rushed, they struggled with it and it wasnât drawn out until the very end either.
The writing is solid, straightforward, and easy to follow. This definitely was a nice simple read (meaning it wasnât anything very complex). I enjoyed it greatly. I have yet to be disappointed in this series, they are all standalone books and even though they exist in the same world they can stand on their own. They arenât linked to any of the other book in any kind of important way. You could definitely read these out of order if you wanted. I canât wait to read the next one.
When you've been a writer for long enough, commas become more of a spiritual practice than a grammatical one.
Could I explain the actual rules of how theyâre used? Absolutely not.
Do I rely on sensing a tremor in the force to tell me where to use them? Yes and this has never failed me even once.
non-writers will never understand the mental illness of writing an entire conversation in your head while doing dishes and then forgetting every word the second you open a blank doc
