i'm the hard to find stations on the AM band

talking to people who have undiagnosed adhd and/or who need to hormonally transition is really odd, because you have to approach the conversation with all of the delicacy demanded by the years they have spent grappling with deep and personal experiences, which they've internalized as intimate and core beliefs about who they are, who they can be, and how they belong (or don't belong) in the world, and then at the end of the conversation, "you know they make a medication for that?" is actually really good advice and would improve their life a lot very quickly.

got some shorts secondhand and discovered a new and absurd fast fashion crime: they appear to have a drawstring, but the drawstring is actually a nonfunctional decorative feature. the manufacturer has sewn a suitable channel in, because the elastic waistband is run through a channel! they have made a length of drawstring in self fabric and passed it through two slits at the front of the waistband! they have even sewn it down so it can’t slide out! but does it work? no!!! i genuinely cannot imagine the kind of person who makes a manufacturing decision like that.

i can't ever be permitted to add a second monitor to my computer because right now with one i have literally three workspaces open, 9 firefox windows, and only one of those windows has fewer than 20 open tabs. i have a 15" wide screen on my laptop and i'm routinely splitscreening it anyways

i feel like perhaps the only way i will make it out of only posting vague negativity online may be just to infodump about projects i'm psyched about doing irl until people start getting excited about what i'm up to

at an interesting part in my whole "having an art degree" thing where the fact that the vast majority of artists who've mentored me were art professors and made their money that way really matters. these people who've shown me how to make the craziest stuff and push myself in all sorts of important ways i didn't know were possible also have shitty old websites & it's hard to find their current work or contact them outside of their private work emails. balls in my court on instagram presence now i guess

i have binge listened to the "sold a story" podcast in the last few days and it's wild reflecting on this stuff as someone who learned to read really easily. i remember being taught a lot of the cueing stuff in school, but i just like straight up did not understand what they were asking us to do. i thought it was just like "if you've figured out the letters in a word and still don't know what it means, you can use these strategies instead of looking it up". it's suddenly less confusing to me how i encountered other 5th graders taking a month to make it through a single percy jackson book when i was doing multiple a week. america is SO fucked. wow.

feeling like an elementary schooler going nuts trying to pack my dorm up to move tomorrow and instead being like "what if i tried to remember everything from the two (2) semesters of adult beginning ballet classes i've taken in my life"

i love getting ppl on hrt but its also insane how much the approach varies based on person. i have chatted w/ ppl where 3 sentences in im like "do u want my diy friend's number? she does some wild off label shit and is so smart" and others where i'm like 5 hours deep getting to "do you want to talk to my free public servant medicaid navigator"
