Hello, Dadza! I am a cagegiver for the few littles we have in our system however, I am scarily new to this. Do you have any tips? (Especially on taking care of and calming littles, one is extremely mischievous)
- Ranboo
Hello Ranboo!! :D i’ve got a good few! it’ll be pretty long, so there’ll be a cut! These can be used for both in-system littles and out of-system littles
1. Create a Safe, Comfortable Space
A physical and emotional safe space could help! Make sure the environment feels nurturing. This could include cozy blankets, calming lights, and favorite toys. Of course do this to the best you can, i know not everyone can manage little gear and toys (especially if you live with family still)
2. Establish Routines
Structure could help littles feel a bit more secure. Simple routines like snack time, nap time, and playtime help to reduce anxiety. It can also be grounding to have certain rituals that signal transitions (like using a particular phrase or sound for when playtime ends) you can use an alarm, it’s especially good if you can use a custom one so it isn’t loud and surprising
3. Be Patient and Flexible
Littles may struggle with regulating emotions, and some may act out, especially if they’re trying to communicate something (especially if they’re YOUNG young.) Being calm and consistent, even when they’re testing boundaries, can go a long way. It's okay if things don’t always go as planned, and adjusting your approach will help create trust.
4. Use Calming Techniques
For calming, some littles respond well to sensory activities like coloring, playing with soft toys, or listening to soothing music. Breathing exercises can also help, as can gently guiding them through their feelings if they’re upset. If they’re feeling overwhelmed or hyperactive, engaging in a quiet activity might help bring them down a notch.
5. Embrace the Playful Energy
Sometimes, mischievous behavior is just a way of expressing excitement or seeking attention. You can join in on the fun by engaging in lighthearted activities that use their energy in positive ways. For example, if they're being sneaky or making messes, you might turn it into a game: "Who can build the tallest block tower before it falls?" or "Let’s race to see who can clean up the toys fastest!"
6. Set Playful Boundaries
It’s important to set clear but gentle boundaries when the mischief is getting a bit out of hand. Instead of saying “no” in a strict way, try framing things with humor or fun. For example, if they’re making a mess, you could say, “I see you're building a fort with all the pillows, but let’s make sure we can still walk through the room!” This keeps things light but still communicates what’s okay and what’s not.
7. Redirect the Mischief
If they're starting to get into something they shouldn’t, instead of shutting it down completely, you can redirect their attention to something more appropriate. If they’re playing too roughly or being too noisy or really too anything, try offering a different activity that lets them express that same energy but in a safer or more acceptable way, like bouncing a ball or drawing something crazy.
8. Praise Creativity and Imagination
In my experience, the more mischievous littles tend to be very creative and curious. If they’re doing something silly, find ways to praise their imagination. If they’re making up stories, playing pretend, or coming up with inventive games, encourage that by joining in or letting them know it’s fun to see what they come up with. "Wow, that’s a really fun idea! Let’s see what happens next!"
9. Create Mischief-Friendly Zones
If possible, have a designated “mischief zone” where it’s okay for them to be a little chaotic. Maybe it's a corner with soft toys or a play mat where they can make messes or experiment with new things. This gives them a safe space to express their energy, while still keeping balance over other areas of your environment.
10. Use Humor to Defuse Situations
If a mischievous little is testing limits or getting into things they shouldn't, using humor can be a great tool. You might say something like, "I see you’re up to no good! What’s your next plan, little troublemaker?" This keeps things playful and less frightening than if you were to punish them, which can let you guide them back toward a safer or more acceptable activity without a power struggle.
11. Incorporate Fun Consequences
If their mischief leads to a boundary being crossed (like breaking something or ignoring a rule), use consequences that still feel fun!! For example, if they make a mess, the consequence could be they help clean it up but in a silly, giggly way, like acting like wolves cleaning up the den or dancing while cleaning
12. Encourage Positive Mischief
Sometimes mischievous littles just want attention. You can give them positive attention by encouraging them to be a little cheeky in ways that are harmless and fun. For example, suggest a harmless prank—like “Let’s pretend to surprise [headmates or even friends] by hiding something and then giving them clues to find it!” So they can have an outlet for their playful nature without crossing boundaries.
13. Know When to Take a Break
It can become overwhelming to care for littles! so don’t forget to take care of yourself! Taking breaks can help you stay grounded and patient, and remember that self-care is essential!
i think i’m realising that we regress just a little bit whenever we’re sick, because i pointed at our puppy and passively said ‘doggy’ for no reason which is something i don’t imagine i’d do normally
(one example of many)
i’ve generally acted a little more childish than normal now that i’m sick.. oufh..
hi philll !! i did some colouring last night n waned to thank you for showibg me them on here !! (cabybara techno....... bc the cabybara reminedn me of techno...)
-Fundy!! (noct. sys)

dadza do you have any good places to listen to bedtime stories 3: -🐝
huhm.. well, YouTube and Spotify are pretty trustworthy
a few decent channels are: Buddy Son Storytime, Read Aloud with Mr. Paul, Storytime at Awnie’s House, Book in Bed, Reading Rocket, and Vooks
I personally like Storytime at Awnie’s House and Reading Rocket the most, their voices are emotive and comforting in my opinion, good for sleeping and for when you simply wanna hear a book!
Vooks is a bit better for when you’re awake, since it has so many sounds from what I’ve heard, but maybe you like that!
♡ sensory world - a game full of sensory toys to play with as well as arcade games, a decent alternative to angels sensory room (who's owner has a history of banning age regressors from their game)
♡ jovial playground/peppers playhouse (if you don't mind creepy visuals/derealization!)
♡ rainy day - an aesthetically pleasing nature hangout game
♡ backpacking - a chill camping game
♡ bloxy bingo - a fun bingo game
♡ farmstead - a slow paced farming simulator
♡ sandbox - a pixelated single player sandbox game
♡ astro renaissance - a royale high-like dressup game
♡ marble mania - a fun marble-run game
♡ my hello kitty cafe - a sanrio themed cafe tycoon
♡ color book - a giant coloring book where you color entire maps
♡ jigsaw puzzles - a laid back single player puzzle game
♡ advanced claw machine - a realistic claw machine game
♡ in the hills - a cute picnic simulator
always remember to keep yourself safe, roblox is NOT a very safe game when it comes to the community! be careful when wearing regression fits (i.e fits with pacis, bottles, etc) in certain games as you can be harassed for wearing them, i have many times!! dont forget to have fun :]
