I told my mom at an early age my name would be in the lights. I'm not there yet, but this is pretty rad. 1 of 20 winners for this years @artpopstreetgallery contest. With all that's happening in the world I would just like to take a minute to thank @starbucks for honoring my traditions. They were so kind to put @flying.spaghetti.monster onto their cups this year. I've been touched many times by his noodley appendages. Without this pastafarian blessing, there would only be darkness. Remember, he boiled for your sins, so you could enjoy your grande mocha non-fat soy, no foam, extra foam, whipped, almond milk, pumpkin spiced, extra whip, venti, double cup deliciousness.

I am constantly pushing myself to grow as an artist. For those who are familiar with my work, I am headed in a new direction for 2016 and beyond. My signature aesthetic will not change, but the style and subject matter will be slightly different. When I set out on this journey seven years ago my goals were completely different. I achieved everything I wanted and more. Now, I have new goals and a new vision for my art. My goal for 2016 is to push my work in a more conceptual and sophisticated direction. There will be heavy a Cy Twombly influence. Lots of visual story telling. Also, there will be a lot of really large paintings in terms of size. I am currently working closely with a New York City gallerist for the direction of this new body of work. I am really stoked to spread my wings creatively and embark on this new direction. Here's a small piece of a painting I am currently working on.

Here's the triptych I cooked up for the good folks over at @gykantler hanging in the office. Each is 40" x 30" x 2" acrylic and vintage newspaper on gallery wrapped canvas. The pieces use authentic vintage NH/BOS newspaper and celebrate the history of the company and their newly renovated 100+ year old building. 📷 Credits @tdyork

The two biggest are probably Picasso and the amazing @misprintedtype_ . If you read anywhere in the media that I'm inspired by Shepared Fairey or Alec Monoply this is 100% false. I was creating my body of work long before I knew who they were. I have an enormous amount of respect for both artists, but Decoupage and the use of paper had been around since 12th century China. 💸‼️💥⚡️

My man @shhwanky stopped by my studio to hang and shoot some photos. Absolutely love the vision he had, colors and vibe are so rad! I am working closely with a NYC Galleriest on an entire new series of paintings. Much more fine-art and much more sophisticated, but still keeping true to my signature aesthetic. I really want to showcase more of my illustration skills and conceptual abilities so that's where we are headed for 2016!
