Just finished. Don't have the full suit (yet) but I may bring this with me to Celebration. Couldn't have my Dead men if Dunharrow without the King of the Dead. But Games Workshop recently dropped him from their web store, so I got a lot of figures with the king included off eBay. I knew his sword was broken but I gambled I could fix it. Drilled some tiny tiny holes and used a part of a staple to make a pin. Even had to sand the staple down a bit to fit it in. Seems sturdy however which is good because I otherwise would have had to use the Slimer figure from my Ghostbusters game as the King of the Dead.

Tried to paint all three of my Théoden figures at the same time, thinking it'd be more efficient. Nope. But I almost finished one of them. Also finished Éomer on Firefoot.

Whelp, looks like no man can kill him indeed. The Witch King lives!!!

Hi Tumblr, been a while. So I've been getting into the Lord of the Rings SBG and one of my first purchases outside of the old Fellowship set and the Pelennor Fields set was the Witch King of Angmar. One of my personal favorite designs from the movies. I don't know if it's just because I'm new to finecast resin or if I got a shitty mold, but the spiked crowns on the finecast ones looked atrocious. Especially compared to the nice and crisp one that came with the fell beast in the Pelennor Fields set. I fixed the one foot version by chopping off the "vertical" spikes entirely and replacing them with pieces I cut from sprues. The one on horse (the disembodied head in the picture) looked even worse so I cut every single spike off and am drilling small holes and inserting my own spikes made of styrene rods. Why the long story? Because of how expensive the Witch King was, it was incredibly nerve wracking to cut off the spikes. I placed a really big damn bet on myself. Stay tuned to see if I messed it up!

Fortunately, I also have the kit where he is carrying Kay Lawrence, which I plan to paint in full color.

Grabbed this at Wonderfest. Not happy with how it turned out. The S shield decal cracked so Inhad to try to patch it with paint and I still didn't get the wrinkles out of it. #Superman #DCComics #PolarLights

All I wanted to do was buy some primer... I have a problem.

Started this Wednesday night. Pretty easy. I also have the smaller 1:25 one and supplemental Batman figure. I imagine it's got to be pretty tiny considering this one isn't that big. Not that I'm complaining.

Haven't posted a lot of work in progress photos here lately because my workspace is a big mess and a bit embarrassing. But I finished Revell's AH-64 Apache Helicopter. Had a hard time fitting the canopy on so the paint got pretty messed up by the glue.

Bought a resin kit of the 2002 Time Machine off eBay. Haters be damned, I love that movie.

Forgot to post this. Built it last Sunday and Monday. It's the 1/144 Bandai X-Wing. As with the U-Wing, the parts fit together great and the wings open and shut with ease and keep their position well. The hard part was the decals. They were meant to make Red Leader's X-Wing but also included enough stripes to make Red 2, 3, 4, and 5 (Sorry Porkins.) I wanted to make Luke's X-Wing, so it was a little difficult to get the stripes into position correctly, and I didn't quite space it right on the upper right wing.

No one cares but, I just came up with a brilliant shortcut with making an X-Wing. I wanted to do a Blue Squadron one from Rogue One but the Bandai kit decals only come in red. That's fine, because so far all of the X-Wings I've made have been masked off and painted instead of using the decals. It's just a tedious process though. However in addition to waterslide decals, Bandai also includes a duplicate set of sticker ones. So if I peel up the negative space around the stickers, I have myself some perfectly sized and shaped masking film. Not bad for an idiot! Let's just hope they're low enough tack to be removable. Sorry, stuff like this is the only thing that keeps me going sometimes.
