Welcome to the first series in the blog!
Top of the morning to ‘ya lads! Or maybe not because it may not be morning when you read this because I usually post at the afternoon. So top of the afternoon? *badumtss* I’m sorry I just wanted to say that! Lets’s just do it again shall we?
Hey friends! It’s back to school month slash season! I know some of you start school this month or next month or on August or some in September pa nga. (inner conyo!) So I’ve decided to make this Back to School series for all of us that may forget how to school! Let’s get started!
1. “Fitting in” is not important.
Gurl, I swear fitting in is not important. I’ve tried that and in the end when you think you fit in with the “cool kids” you’re just gonna end up hurting yourself. Just go and do you! Be yourself! It’ll be much easier and happier rather than struggling to be one of them.
2. Confidence is key.
As a shy girl (even if I don’t look like one), I always give miyself a pep talk. “You can do this, Jersey! Go and approach them. 1, 2, 3, Jersey GOO! *pushes self*” It may seem a bit weird but hey, it’s effective!
3. Stress, Procrastinating/Cramming feels (all the feeels!)
I’m sure all of us had these feels, “OMG! I can’t!” “asdfghjkl what is lyf?” “sooo tired!” “I work better under pressure anyways!” “I can just do this at break time (then you just procrastinated)”. I’m telling you if you have free time, go and do your schoolworks otherwise you’re just gonna cram before the deadline and regret it all (which lowkey may be me at some points of life). Rest, Eat, Watch some Youtube videos, then go do your homework!
4. Time management
Make a schedule or a routine. It helps a loooot! At first, it may be hard but hey, a routine wouldn’t be routine if you don’t do it daily. Did that make sense? At all? Also, make your routine/schedule that really fits your lifestyle. It’s all just about S-E-L-F D-I-S-C-I-P-L-I-N-E.
5. Stay healthy even distressed.
*unleash the sassiness* Gurl, we ain’t forgetting about your body! You still gotta look good even if you feel like dying because of acads! Do some simple exercise and eat healthy stuff! A simple exercise that I do is going up and down the stairs when I get something and of course, since I tend to forget things I have to go and get that then it just repeats for a couple of times. And as for eating healthy, pop some fruits into your breakfast or take it to school for snacks. Or much better make it a smoothie, okay now I’m just lowkey wanting a four seasons drink because of this.
6. Go & Participate!
Don’t be afraid to test the water! Try new things! There’s nothing bad with trying. Attend school events! Through my years in highschool, I’ve tried many things such as joining the dance club (wow so dancer naman this gurl). It’ll be fun when you look back to those memories and laugh at the epic ones.
7. The different types of people
There is a huge variety of attitudes in highschool, and sometimes when you just can’t take it you may be left with 0% chill. You don’t want that because it may lead to horrible things. Learn to be chill with them. Get to know them even, every person has a story right? Maybe you’re future bff is just out there near you!
8. Studies first!
You came to school for a primary reason, to study and learn! So it should be your #1 priority even if you have so much extra curricular with you. Studies are important, you’re gonna need it at some point of yout life. But don’t focus too much on it, the values we learn are so much more important rather than those difficult math equations.
9. Failures won’t define you.
Devastated because you failed yout math test? It’s alright, it’s part of life. We all learn through failures. Don’t let that failed exam let you down, it’s okay to cry but don’t make it forever. Stand up and do it better. It’s just a test, so chill.
10. Create memories.
Everyone deserves to have fun and be wild! Go have study dates with your squad. Pig out and be funny. Just be the teenager that you are. Do the things that someday you’ll want to look back to and you wouldn’t want to regret it.
And that is all friends! I’m going back to school tomorrow as a 10th grader! I’m both excited but sad at the same time, is it just me or what? Just enjoy the rollercoaster year of school that we’ll have! And as always, I hope you have slash had a great day! God bless you, friend!
