I hope that you smile when you see it too. You can see from the expressions on all the faces in this photo that the relationship the boys share with this dog in their Kenyan village is grounded in patience and love. If you’ve ever known the love of a dog and loved a dog in turn, you know that it is one of the most incredible bonds we can ever experience. Wherever you are in the world today, I hope that you're staying safe and healthy. Reasons to Smile
I’ve been feeling slightly down lately, so I thought I’d make a list of every reason I have to smile. Hopefully they can help someone also get through a bad time!
1) No one is truly alone forever - there’s always someone out there that will be on your side when it feels like everyone else isn’t
2) It’s summer! You can leave the stress of school behind for six weeks (more if you’re American) and just take some time to relax
3) Over the past hundred years or so, medicine and technology has massively advanced and we’re on track to make similar advancements in years to come
4) The biggest ocean cleanup started recently, which is retrieving large amounts of plastic i our seas and oceans
5) Cats exist
6) Whatever you stand for, there’s almost always a community online where you can make friends and talk to someone if you need to but don’t have anyone at home or in real life. This can be for anything; a movement, a lifetyle or even just a hobby
7) Stories of people who have gotten through tough times and are now as strong as ever can really spark hope. They’re all over the internet and a perfect pick-me-up if you feel like there’s no way for it to get better
8) Similarly, stories and images of transgender men and women before/after transition (If they have been willing to share only!). It might not be like this for everyone, but I certainly can’t help but feel better about how much happier they are now that they’re living the lives they want to!
9) Telling a loved one that you love or complimenting them and their reaction
I’m sorry if some of these were a bit strange, but I hope they can cheer someone up a bit if they’re having a bad day.
