With the recent antics Kanye’s been on for the last couple of years, specifically his political views, does it make it hard for you to listen to and/or celebrate his previous work as milestone anniversaries are coming up?

But his comments on slavery were so fucking stupid that I both stopped listening to his new stuff and deleted a lot of old stuff from my music library. Might seem extreme but his comments were so jarring to me even as a white guy that I couldn’t appreciate his old music the same. It’s like the message was lost.

The music is just not as a enjoyable anymore to me personally. He was my favorite rapper since 2008, now that I view him so differently and am no longer drinking the KoolAid his music went from great to good. So it’s a lot harder to appreciate his work.

That being said (and this is of course some bullshit on my end)I have little to no problem enjoying 808’s at all. The music is just so different and songs don’t have the same message as Jesus Walks or Gorgeous or New God Flow that his comments didn’t harm that album the same. I’m thankful for that because I remember how much shit he got for that album but it’s a classic and I love almost every song on it.

Kanye’s music got me through some shit but I couldn’t ignore his buffoonery. His words were awful, had the rhetoric was harmful to black people, and completely stripped his greatest songs of meaning to me.

I listen to all his music up until TLOP. I don’t listen to any current music at all, nor will I.

2)I don’t know why you stupid people keep bringing white people into this. Nobody said shit about white people. Even if they were at the BET awards, that behavior would have STILL been inappropriate. Why is a grown woman fighting in public let alone at a big event, getting their dress torn, their whole ass out with lumps on their head??? 3)Angry black woman where??? I don’t consider Cardi black. you people are the ones that forced her to call herself black. Being from the DR or Trinidad doesn’t automatically make you black. Cardi’s parents don’t even look black. She is very racially ambiguous and there’s nothing wrong with that. Let us not forget there was a time Dominicans that looked like Cardi fought tirelessly to not be seen as black and they have always treated Darker skinned Dominicans or Dominicans with black features the same way white people treat black people in America. Also, if cardi b was black people would have labeled her ghetto when her career first started and she would have never made it this far.

3.5)Also, i refer to white women and women of other races that fight like wild animals the same way. I call the women on mob wives animals because of how they fight and no one says anything. as much as I like @westafricanbaby her comments and name calling towards cardi are extemely bordering that line that Africans take when referring to African Americans and that’s my take on it.
