I've been one of the only Knicks fan that's been avoiding saying the Knicks winning the title has the entire NBA in shambles. But HOLY SHIT BRO! These GMs (specifically in the East) doesn't know what the hell they're doing to put together a team to compete for a championship. They're still operating under the old school thinking.
Hornets took a step back trading LaMelo instead of running it back for at least one more season. Especially after how great they played on both sides of the floor since the turn of the calendar.
Hawks got better in the draft, but they still lack size at the Center position to compete. CJ McCollum, NAW & Jalen Johnson gotta show and prove next season that their hot stretch in the second half wasn't a fluke.
Heat got Giannis but lost assets to fill out a playoff caliber roster around him and Bam.
I don't trust Kawhi's health or the players the Raptors have surrounding him outside of Barnes, RJ & Quick.
Pistons lost toughness and will probably continue to get worse if they don't resign Jalen Duren. They won't catch anyone by surprise anymore.
Sixers is still the same team after trading for Jaylen Brown. He's an upgrade for sure, but we all know Philly's chances is 100% based on the health of Embiid and his ability to defend, which in recent years he physically can't move on that side of the court due to the numerous amount of leg injuries.
Celtics is the same boat as the Sixers. But their key additions have questions marks on their durability + Tatum still working himself back from the achillies injury. They'll be good enough to stack up win in the regular season and trick people into thinking they're legitimate contenders.
A team led by Donovan Mitchell is a very unserious team. A team that overpays a washed Harden is a very unserious team. A team with a soft front court in Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen is a very unserious team. Cavs is frauds.
Magic... lol.
Pacers got devil magic running through their franchise led by Tyrese Haliburton, so I will never count them out. But at the same time, they've traded for a guy that doesn't fit their system (Zubac) and lost a pick in a very strong draft that would've extended their window and possibly had a future star to build around after Hali's era was over.
Only time will tell if I'm wrong about any of these East teams.
