Max hated Gossip Girl. If there was one thing he didn't want to deal with it was some wanna be gossip blog that just feels like a stalker to him. He'd had his own dirty laundry aired and his own meltdown shown for everyone to see and yes it was his fault but he wasn't about to give Gossip Girl anything if he could help it. It was wrong on so many levels and it felt far too invasive. But of course he kept how he really felt about the wannabe gossip blog to himself. Some seemed to love it but he felt it was just invasive and unnecessary but what could they really do about it? He didn't know but he would support his friends, at least the ones that he liked being around and considered a friend, like Cici.
He gave her a smile and just held her hand as she spoke. She was one of the few that he felt like he could just be around and so he was but he also wanted to be supportive too. That's what good friends did and he may not be good at much of it but he tried and he could always learn and do more if needed.
"That's the best we can do until someone takes her down once and for all," Max muttered so only she could hear it. He hoped that Cici was right about the group not being torn apart but he kept his own feelings about certain situations to himself. "Well you have me," he smiled gently. "So, let's do something and get away from all of them," he gestured to the people lingering around. "We can go shopping or hang out or something."
Cici was fairly certain everyone hated Gossip Girl. Except, you know, those looking to use her in order to make themselves feel important. But, of course, if you needed Gossip Girl, it was a sure sign that you were nobody to begin with.
Kind of like her mother’s ex, Dan. It made Cici wonder just how many of their peers were sending in ‘anonymous tips’ about themselves. Hoping it (and by extension they) would go viral.
When Max suggested going elsewhere, Cici immediately jumped on it. Because as much as she loved their friends and everyone else, right now the less people the better. “Can we go to the park?” She knew the whole hanging out on the green was very early 2000s, but at this moment she didn’t care.
It would be quiet there. And far from everyone in their inner circle. “We can watch the dog walkers and nannies with their charges...” Because who didn’t love puppies and small children. (Well, when those small children were not your responsibility).
