Something unexpected happened. I got a phone call from a family member, a cousin of mine, Julie was battling stage 4 cancer. Emergency road trip...
Next stop: New York. 18 hours later, we arrived. The next 5 days were spent in the hospital and surrounded by family. We left Saturday night and Sunday while in Georgia, 4 hours away from home, she passed. I knew before I left this was the inevitable future. The last words we exchanged were me telling her to stay strong and we would be back. She looked at me and saidĀ āI need you to stay strong Cuzā. I knew then this was bound to happen but still something I wasnāt ready for.
What a fucking mess. It started off well. Girls In Wonderland! Woohoo, right?
What started out as a solo party weekend, ended up with my Godsister and an old friend from New York with her squad. Needless to say, an epic weekend.Ā

What a reality check. A mass nightclub shooting in Orlando, my hometown. Just 12 minutes from my house. 49 people dead and a city in shambles. This changed everything.Ā
