   “I’m just bored. There’s nothing to do.” Rolling onto his back, another huff left him as he looked up at his counterpart, pout now visible.
A laugh left him. “Is that all? What do you expect me to do about that?” Seeing the pout only made Kerrigan shake his head.

   A shrug was given in response to the first statement. “Well I didn’t exactly make it obvious.” Nodding, he continued. “Yeah, I appreciate what you did a whole lot. I don’t think I’d have been able to forgive myself if I’d hurt someone.” Hearing the confession, he couldn’t help but laugh a bit. “Yeah, I’ve figured that out at this point. I was never sure if that was the reason or it was just teasing.”
A small chuckle left him. “I guess even we can be oblivious at times.” Kerrigan gave a nod at his words. “And I more than appreciate what you did for me. I wouldn’t be here if not for you.” There was nothing but truth in the statement and they both knew it. A smile came to his lips as the Dusk Dragon leaned closer to Hotoke. “Don’t think this means I’ll suddenly stop though, Hatchling.~” With that he pressed a light kiss to the bit of marking on Hotoke’s forehead.

   “It’s alright. I didn’t want to come between you two at the time anyway. After that happened though, I still wasn’t sure either on if you were interested.” He couldn’t help but chuckle a bit. Better late than never it seemed. “I couldn’t just leave you like that. Even if I hadn’t felt the way I did, you’d helped me after all.”
 “Still. I at least should have noticed it.” A chuckle left him as well. It seemed they had the same mindset about telling each other. “And I couldn’t very well let you rampage from your pain. You and innocents would have been hurt and that’s not good for anyone.” He said. “I guess I can confess something now... All this time I’ve been picking on you... it was just an excuse to be near you.”

   Hotoke finally looked back at the other, clearly shocked as well. “W-well if we’re being honest I’ve kind of, noticed I’ve felt this way a long time ago. It just kind of happened after you helped me calm down when Etsu passed.” That’d been a hard time for him. He could barely remember much aside from Kerrigan calming his rage.
Kerrigan blinked. “That long? I hadn’t noticed, I’m sorry...” Though back then he was too focused on his own mate to pick up on it. “But you’re not alone on when that started. After Dimitra died... all I really remember is you trying to pull me out of the emotional hole I was in. It started then but I said nothing thinking you wouldn’t want that.”

   Keeping his gaze adverted, another sigh left him. He knew he couldn’t get away with lying to the other, which was a little nice since he’d know he wouldn’t joking about what he was about to say. “Just, don’t laugh at me.” He started, unsure if he’d actually be the type to do so. “I’ve, come to find myself caring about you as more than just a, friend.”
At first shock filled Kerrigan but it was quickly followed by relief and it showed very clearly on his face. “And all this time I thought it was one sided for me.” He murmured. Hearing that from Hotoke made the concern very clear now. Even if they weren’t together the loss of the other would be devastating, especially for them.

   “Still.” There was a slight emphasis on the word. Hearing the question, he sighed and looked away, not wanting to make eye contact. “It’s complicated.” He muttered. It wasn’t really, he just still had to suck it up and admit his feelings for that other. He wasn’t even completely sure if the Dusk Dragon was interested in him that way.
“What does it matter so long as I survive?” He shook his head, not looking for an answer. He watched the Dawn Dragon carefully when he got his answer and narrowed his eyes a bit. “You’re hiding something from me.” He could easily tell this. “What is it?”

   A sigh left the Dragon as he moved to sit a little ways away from Kerrigan. “Yeah, well, you don’t have to be so careless you know.” They might be immortal but they could still be killed. “What happens when you really get hurt, huh? Then what will you do?” Clearly he was more concerned than he was letting on.
The taller dragon sighed at Hotoke’s words. “I’m not careless enough to get myself killed. Not anymore.” He had massive scars from the last time that almost happened to him. They still hurt every so often. Fully registering the concern in the other dragon Kerrigan lifted an eyebrow. “And I’ve always been like this, why are you so concerned about this now?”

   The Dawn Dragon was clearly irritated with his counterpart. He hated how reckless the other was most times, and this was definitely one of them. As he walked up to him, he lightly whacked the back of his head, seeing as he could reach while the other was sitting. “Just what do you think you were doing?”
More from not expecting the hit than anything, Kerrigan flinched. He turned, growling, ready to hurt whoever did it until he saw and heard Hotoke. The growl died with a roll of his eyes. “Being myself, what did it look like? Do remember that I actually have fun in fights.”
