many people seem to be having issues with grasping the problem with lando's interview, so let me spell it out for you: your pr team should prep you for this type of questions, so you can give canned non-responses. "the regulations are what they are, and the team is working relentlessly to get us where we know we can be". "battling max was a personal highlight of last season, i am happy the fans could witness that and i would be happy to go at it again with george". these are the type of answers your pr team should teach you. the no-go zones they put on should be your personal life, not the literal most surface level questions regarding your job. but mostly, under absolutely NO circumstances, should your pr team intervene mid-conversation, interject their own answers as yours and then ask to be quoted as if you said it, while you meekly say " im not the boss". the monumental fuck up here is that this is an avoidable pr disaster. any other answer from lando's mouth and this could have been another puff piece that no one really read. right now it looks like either lando is a moron who can't answer anything harder than what's your favorite colour or you/the team come across as overbearing and stopping your client from being genuine with the adoring public. lando's implication that max has more freedom than him also makes your team look like a bunch of morons who are desperately afraid of anything that's not 1000% positive, which mclaren has already been clowned on since the whole "no first driver" while clearly having a first driver. and the idea that your first champion in a decade is not self sufficient enough and needs to be babied at all times puts another stain on his already shaky reputation as someone who was propped up by his team to win it. complete disasterclass and whoever thought they were allowed to this is also a symptom of a bigger problem with either lando's own pr team or mclaren's organization as a whole
