And speaking of Wagner, I feel like the comparisons between Saruman and Xardas have been exhausted but, well, don't they both draw from Wotan....

I think the Polish localisation always made Xardas appear more affectionate towards NH by, for example, changing the chapter name ‘Departure’ to ‘Pożegnanie’(‘Farewells’) (shifting the attention from Esmeralda to Xardas' farewell letter), and making Xardas write to NH, ‘Mój młody przyjacielu’(‘My young friend’) instead of ‘My young protégé’ (‘Mój młody podopieczny’) but Remake kind of takes the cake by 1) making Xardas call out to NH, ‘Robaczku’ (lit. ‘you small bug’, but it's a term of endearment, ‘Darling’) and 2) having Xardas moan when you cast Charm on him.
